Housing Compatibility
Compatibility may be updated as new cameras are released.
Refer to the product page on our website for up to date
housing compatibility information.
Important Notices
»Do not use alcohol, cleaning agents, spray lubricants,
Rain-X, or other solvents on the housing or WD-3
dome. Use of an incompatible chemical compound can
damage the dome or housing.
»Remove the dome lens after entering the water to allow
water to completely ll the area behind the dome lens.
Check that no air bubbles are trapped between the
dome lens and the housing. Air bubbles will show up in
photos and video.
Installation and Use
Attaching the WD-4 Wide Angle Dome
1.
Apply a very thin layer of lubricant to the o-ring on the
inside of the dome lens. Use only enough to make the
o-ring slightly shiny.
2.
Press the dome lens rmly onto the front of the housing
lens port until it stops.
Using the WD-4 Wide Angle Dome
1.
Remove the dome lens after entering the water to allow
water to completely ll the area behind the wide angle
dome.
2.
Gently sweep away any air bubbles attached to the dome
lens and/or housing.
3.
Reattach the dome lens to the housing port.
4.
Rotate the dome lens until the shade protrusions are
oriented on the top and bottom.
5.
Remove the dome lens when shooting macro close-up.
»The WD-4 Wide Angle Dome requires water between the
dome lens and the housing port. No effect will be seen
when attached above water.
»Approximately 3/4 of the camera’s zoom range may be
used with the dome lens installed. For use of the full
telephoto zoom range, remove the dome lens from the
housing.
Maintenance and Storage
Post-Dive
1.
Rinse the dome lens in clean, fresh water.
2.
NEVER leave your housing in the fresh water rinse tank.
Collisions with other gear can cause scratches or damage
to your equipment.
3.
Dry the dome lens with a clean micro ber lens cleaning
cloth.
4.
Attach the protective neoprene cover.
5.
Stow the housing and dome lens in a shaded place
where it is protected from impact or overheating. If no
shade is available, we recommend covering the housing
with a towel or cloth.
Travel and Storage
1.
Clean and dry the exterior of the dome lens. DO NOT
use any type of alcohol or glass or surface cleaner on the
dome lens.
2.
Attach the protective neoprene cover.
3.
Store in a cool, dry place.
Scratches
Often scratches will ll in with water and become invisible in
the resulting image. Scratches are most likely to show up in
your image when shooting towards the sun or a light source.
Light scratches may be buffed out using NOVUS plastic
polish, available in single-use packets or bottles.
If the scratches are too deep to polish out, the dome lens will
need to be returned to Ikelite for replacement of the acrylic
front.
Limited Warranty
This Ikelite product is warranted against any manufacturing
defects for a period of one (1) year from the original date
of purchase. To obtain warranty service, the product must
be returned to Ikelite postage paid. Ikelite will, at its sole
discretion, repair or replace such products, and will return
to customer postage paid. All other claims of any nature are
not covered. Except as mentioned above, no other warranty
expressed or implied applies to this Ikelite product.
