Maximum safety
Special features:
Delta-peak sensitivity:The automatic charge
termination program workson the principleof
the Delta-peak voltagedetection.
Capacity limit:The charging capacityalways
calculated by multipleof the chargingcurrent

So it doesnot need any balancer separately when
charging Lipo batteryfor cell balancing.

Warning and safety notes
Never leave thecharge unsupervised when it is
connected to itspower supply.lf any malfunction
is observed immediately terminate the process
and refer tothe operation manual.
Keep awaythe unit fromdust,damp,rain,heat
direct sunshine andvibration.Do not drop it.
The circuit ofthe unit is designed to bepowered
by 12V DConly.
This unit andthe battery to charge should beset
up on ahead-resistant,non-inflammable and non-
condu-ctive surface. Neverplace them on a car
seat,carpet or similarsituation.
keep all theinflammable volatile materials well
away fom operatingarea.
Be sure tounderstand the information of the
battery to be charged accuraltely. lf theprogram
is set upincorrectly the battery to be charged.
Reverse the sequencewhen disconnecting.
Toavoid short-circuits between the charge lead.
always connect thecharge cable tothe unit first.

--Batteries that requirea different charge
technique from Nicd,NIMH,Li-Poly or Pb.
--Faultyor damaged battery.
--Battery fitted with an integral chargecircuit or a
protection circuit.
--Batteries installed ina device or which are
electrically linked toother components.
--Batteries that arenot expressly stated by the
manufacturer to besuitable for the currents the
charger delivers duringthe charge process.
Please bear inmind of checking the following
point before chargeoperation.
--Did you selectthe appropriate program which
are suitable forthe type of battery?

--Did you setup adequate current for charging or
discharging?
--Lithium battery pack can be composedwith
parallel and seriescircuits mixed.You have to
check the compositionof the battery pack
carefully before charging.
--Are all connectionsfirm and safe,oris there an
intermittent contact atany point in the circuit?
Those warnings and safety notes are
particularly important! Please followthe
instructions for a maximum safety;otherwise
the charger andthe battery can be damaged

This informs you ofits designation
B5 will be
operated with the
default value of
the essential user
settings when itis
connected to a
12V battery for the
first time. The
screen displays
the following
information in
sequence and the
user can change
the value of
parameter on each
screen. When you
are willing toalter
the parameter
value in the
program, press
start enter keyto
make it blinkthen
change the value
with DEC orINC
key. The value will
be stored by
pressing start
enter key once.
An optional feature usingtemperature probe contacting the
surface of battery, the temperature cut-offcan be on oroff. If itis
on, set the maximumtemperature at which thecharger should
allow battery to reachduring charger.Once a battery reahesthis
temperature during charger,the process will beterminated .
When you start acharge process, the integralsafety timer
automatically starts running atthe same time. Thisis programmed
to prevent over charge the battery ifit proves to befaulty, orif the
termination circuit cannot detectthe battery full. Thevalue for the
safety timer should begenerous enough to allowa full chargeof
the battery.
This program sets themaximum charge capacity thatwill be
supplied to the batteryduring charge. Ifthe delta peak voltageis
not detected nor thesafety timer expired byany reason, this
feature will automatically stopthe process at theselected
capacity value.
The beep sounds atevery time pressing thebuttons to confirm
your action. The beepor melody sounded atvarious times during
operation to alert differentmode changes. These audiblesounds
can be on oroff.
This program monitors thevoltage of input battery. If the voltage
drops below the valueyou set the operationforcibly terminated to
protect the input battery.
You canadjust the brightness ofLCD screen at thecharger.

Lithium polymer battery program
These programs areonly suitable for
charging and discharging Lithium-polymer
batteries with anominal voltage of 3.7V/cell.
These batteries needto adopt different
charge technique istermed a constant
voltage (CV) andconstant current (CC)
method. The chargecurrent varies
according to thebattery capacity,and is
usually C/2 rate(half capacity as a charge
current). The finalvoltage of charge
process is alsovery important;it should be
4.2V/cell for thenominal voltage of
3.7V/cell. If thefinal voltage exceeds by
more than 1%during charge atany reason
the battery will explode. The charge
current and nominal voltage as for cell
count set onthe charge program must
always be correct for the battery tobe
charged.
When you arewilling to alter the parameter
value in theprogram, press start/enter key
to make itblink then change the value with
DEC of INC key. The value willbe stored by
pressing start/enter keyonce.

This shows the numberof cells
you set up andthe processor
detects. `R`shows the number
of cells found bythe charger
and `S`is the numberof cells
selected by you atthe previous
screen. If both numbersare
identical you can startcharging
by press start enterbutton. If
not, press batt typestop button
to go back toprevious
screen.Then carefully check
the number of cellsof the
battery pack to chargeagain.
The screen shows thepresent
situation during charge process.
To stopcharging press batt
type stop key once.
The value on theleft side of
second line sets acharge
current and the valueon the
right side of secondline sets
the voltage of thebattery
pack.After setting the current
and voltage press startenter
key for more than3 seconds to

Charging Li-Poly battery at balancing mode
This is forbalancing the voltages of
Lithium batteries ofthe battery pack
to be charged.Todo this, the battery
pack being chargedshould have the
individual cell connector. And
connect it tothe individual port at the
right side ofcharger. You do not need
connect the battery output jack tothe
output of chargerat this program.
In this mode,the charging process
will be differentfrom ordinary
charging mode. Theinternal
processor of thecharge will monitor
the voltages ofeach cell of the
battery pack and control the
charging current feedingto each cell
to normalize thevoltage.

These programs arefor charging NiMH
(Nickel-Metal-Hydride) or NiCd
(Nicdel-Cadmium) battery commonly
used for R/Cmodel applications.

you set. The charge current
ranges from 0.1 to5.0A.
Pb (lead-sulphuric acid) battery
charging program
This is programmedfor charging Pb
(lead-acid) battery with nominal voltage
from 2 to12V. Pb batteries are totally
different from NiCdor NiMH batteries.
They can onlydeliver relatively lower
current compare totheir capacity, and
similar restrictions definitelyapply to
charge. So theoptimal charge current
will be 1/10of the capacity. Pb batteries
must not becharged rapidly. Always
follow the instructionis supplied by the
manufacturer of battery.

Warning and error messages
The output is connectedto a battery
with incorrect polarity.
This will be displayed in case ofdetect-
ing an interruption of the connection
between battery and output or volun-
tarily disconnection the charge lead dur-
ing the operation of charge ordis-
charge on output.
There was a short-circuitat OUTPUT.
The voltage of inputpower lowers the
limit.
