1. Measure the distance between centres of the key holes located on
the back of the unit.

the correct distance apart and at the correct height on the wall. With a
spirit level, check that the two horizontal markings are level before drilling
holes in the wall surface.

Mirror/Cabinet Lighting
NOTE: All electrical connections need to be installed by a qualified electrician.
Discuss with your electrician about switching and position requiements for
wall hung cabinets and mirrors.
All LED lights/strips are IP44 rated. When assembled and mounted correctly, they are suitable
for use in Bathrooms. Whilst lights can be within 60cm of a water source as they are IP44
rated (zone 2), the transformer needs to be at least 60cm away from water as the concealed transformer is
IP20 rated (Outside Zone).
Please ensure that the line marked on the rear of the mirror is at least 60cm away from a
water source. The transformer is IP20 rated and should be located away from any source of
moisture and water and should be installed by a qualified electrician to meet current legislation
This way up
This line needs to be a minimum of 60cm
from a water source.
Note: Lights - IP44 rated
Transformer - IP20 rated
Must be installed by qualified
electrician and an RCD circuit breaker
should be used

Example of label found on the
reverse side of your mirror or
cabinet which includes lights.
This label should not be removed.
Switch off electricity supply at fuse box before and during installation and maintenance.
We recommend that the circuit fuse or breaker is withdrawn to prevent accidental switching
on whilst work is in progress. A RCD fuse is required in the circuit.

Lighting Zones
Zone 0 - Inside the bath or shower. Any fitting used here must be SELV (Seperated Extra Low
Voltage - max. 12Volts) and have a minimum rating of IP67 (protected against immersion in
water - total immersion proof).
Zone 1 - Above the bath or shower to a height of 225cm. A minimum rating of IP44 is required.
Also, subject to IP rating, SELV or 240V luminaires may be used in this zone; if the fitting is
240 volts, a 30mA residual current device (RCD) must also be used to protect the circuit in this
zone.
Zone 2 - The area stretching to 60cm outside the bath or shower. An IP rating of at least IP44
is required. Also, subject to IP rating, SELV or 240V luminaires may be used in this zone.
In addition, it is good practice to also consider the area around a wash basin (within a 60cm
radius of any tap) as Zone 2.
Outside Zone - Anywhere outside zones 0,1 and 2. Here, there is no requirement for any
lighting solutions to be protected against particles or solid objects.

Care & Maintainance
You have just acquired a high quality and expensive piece of furniture and are about
to put it in the most hostile environment in the house! We have been producing
these fine products for many years and our experiance is that they will give years of
pleasurable service if a few simple measures are taken to look after them.
Bathroom furniture can be wiped over using a damp lint free cloth and dried with a soft
duster to prevent watermarks. Never use abrasive cleaning agents or cloths such as linen
cloths and paper towels as these will scratch. Under no circumstances should solvent cleaning
agents such as nitro-based thinners, acetone, nail polish remover or similar products be used.
The use of polishes using silicone or any abrasive materials can damage the wood finish.
Natural wax polishes should be used sparingly and applied using a soft dry cloth.
Always use your best efforts to keep the wood surface dry. The finish will
deteriorate and the underlying timber could become permanently stained if
subjected to long term contact with water.

Glass or mirrored panels cleaned using a non-solvent based glass cleaner and soft cloth.
Avoid liquid running to the base of the mirror as this can cause damage to the mirror and
furniture and invalidate any warranty.
Failure to follow these guidline will result in your guarantee being invalidated.
Installation & Technical Specs
We recommend that all products are purchased with the assistance of a specialist bathroom
retailer and always installed by an experianced installer who is member of a recognised
plumbing/electrical association.
All natural wood finishes mature with age and colours may vary slightly from batch to batch
or from panel to panel. It is therefore not always possible to achieve a precise colour match
when additional items are added at a later date.
Imperial Bathrooms furniture is produced from a combination of solid wood and wood vaneer
panels, and all sizes quoted are nominal and must be checked against actual product. The timber
used is supplied from renewable sources and whilst every care is taken in the manufacture of
wooden products inevitably there will always be variation in both colour and grain pattern
between individual pieces - indeed this is part of the beauty and unique appeal of using a natural
material. Where frosted glass is a feature, only toughened safety glass is used.
Great care is taken to ensure that products supplied by Imperial are supplied to you in perfect
condition. Your purchases should, however, be checked for manufacturing defects or damage
before any installation work is carried out. We are unable to accept responsibility for any defect
which was evident before or has occured as a result of installation.
