1. Description
The Stowaway S24K / S26K has three separate main inflatable chambers which are the
two chambers of the main tube (1) and the hi h pressure inflatable floor (2). In the
unlikely event that one chamber punctures, the boat can still operate to shore. The in-
flatable keel (3) is inserted between the floor and the bottom of the boat and it’s function
is to improve the trackin and steerin of the boat.
The boat is fitted with the polyester coated marine plywood transom (4), Alloy seat (5),
pair of oars (6) secured in the oarlocks (7) , four rab/carry handles on the sides (8) and
two moulded carry handles on the boat transom (9).
The D-rin on the bow (10) is intended for tyin the boat to fixed objects (jetty), the two
D-rin s underside the bow (11) are for towin .
The drain plu (12) is situated on the bottom of the transom.

3. Assembly / Inflation
The Stowaway Yacht Tender is completely assembled from the factory.
However after cleanin your boat you will have to re-assemble.
Insert the inflatable keel into the boat with the valve pointin to the front and up. The
keel is secured in its position by means of Velcro straps. Follow the Fi . A and B.
Insert the inflatable floor into the boat and spread it evenly so the ed es of the floor fit
under the sponsons of the boat. See Fi . C. The aluminium plate reinforces the floor and
pushes the keel down for more ri idity. Do not remove the reinforcin aluminium plate.
Fig. A Fig. B Fig. C
Before you be in inflation close the valves. (See section 4. Val e operation)
To inflate pump the main tubes up to 24kPa / 4.0 psi so the tube feels firm. Use the pro-
vided foot bellow pump on low pressure settin . See Fi . D
Inflate the floor of your boat to 60kPa / 10psi so it feels hard (Fi . E) and inflate the keel
to the same pressure as the floor (Fi . F). To pump volume air keep the black plu in
place. To pump pressure remove the plu .

When finished with inflation, assemble the oars and secure in the oar locks.
Secure the seat in the seat holders.

5. Valve operation
All air chambers of your INCEPT boat are fitted with Halkey-Roberts inflation valves that
enable inflation / deflation of the boat, enable pressure re ulation in the chambers by
manually releasin air, and allows the measurement of pressure in the chambers by
means of an optional pressure au e.
Fig. I
The valves are operated by
pressing down the inter-
nal stem and twisting a
quarter turn. (See Fi . I)
When the stem holds down
the valve is open.
To inflate the boat, first close
the valve by releasin the
stem with a twist.
To release the pressure push down the stem and let out some air out.
Important: After inflation, fit the valve caps to prevent the entry of water, gravel
and dirt.
6. Use of the boat
Your INCEPT inflatable boat is desi ned for recreational and water tourin purposes.
Whenever the kayak is used on public waterways, Waterway Traffic Rules must be ob-
served. Operation of your INCEPT inflatable boat does not require any licence but it is re-
quired that the person in char e knows the techniques of small boat operation within the
scope necessary for its operation, as well as the valid navi ation rules of the particular
country.
Every person in your INCEPT boat must sit in their proper seat and wear a PFD - personal

floatation device (buoyancy aid) at all times.
ATTENTION
Prior to each use of the boat, check if there are any special regulations, restric-
tions or rules connected with the river, surface of water or area in which you
aim to operate.
WARNING:
On large surfaces of water (seas, lakes) pay attention to off-shore winds and
currents. Currents and breezes may make it impossible to return to shore.
WARNING:
Incept Inflatable Boats should not be used in challenging or extreme conditions
(wind, storm) or in reduced visibility (night, fog, rain).
7. Care and cleaning
The material of the boat is treated with Acrylic lacquer that keeps the boat clean and
lookin ood. New unpacked boats may show white creases in places where the boat was
folded. These are micro- cracks in the surface of the lacquer and is a natural behaviour of
the material. The white creases disappear with warmth – say in sun after an hour or so –
and should not return.
Use warm soapy water or li htly abrasive household cleanser to remove dirt and stains.
Remove the floor and the keel to clean out the sand and dirt which may accumulate under
the sand flap (the junction between the floor and the sponsons). This can be abrasive,
cuttin into the material and causin wear spots.
Dry thorou hly and store rolled up.
Wipe the craft with 303 Protectant every 3 months to retain as-new appearance.
Caution: Never drag the rolled-up boat on any surface, including carpet. Fric-
tional heat on fold edges can instantly burn through the coating leaving bare
spots to the polyester weave.

8. Packing of the boat
To deflate the boat open the valves of all 4 air chambers and let the air out. Fold the tran-
som forward - inside the boat. Then fold both conical ends of the boat over the transom
towards the middle. See fi . I.
Roll the boat over the transom towards the front pushin the air out. See Fi . J and K.
Repeat if necessary.

9. Repairs
A basic repair kit of boat material and adhesive is included with the boat.
With the kit is a polyurethane contact adhesive which requires warm and dry workin
conditions. Preparation of a permanent repair is as follows:
•
Cut a patch to fit the repair leavin 25 - 40 mm (1" - 1½") ed e distance to the hole.
Radius the corners for appearance and resistance to liftin .
•
Dry the glue surfaces and clean with a solvent damped cloth. MEK (methyl
ethyl ketone) is preferred and available from ood hardware stores – in the USA,
obtain from Buildin Depot or Hammer Hardware stores. Paint thinners are not rec-
ommended since actual solvents used are not advertised and can be detrimental to
the product. The purpose is to remove dirt and plasticisers - not noticeable to the
eye, but it does spoil lue adhesion. (En lish version)
•
Position the patch and mark the outline on to the boat with a pencil or ball pen.
•
Brush lue on to both surfaces. Do not over-brush as the lue will dra and be
lumpy. Allow to dry, say 15 - 20 minutes. If the lue is thin and easily brushed, allow
to dry and apply a second coat. This is important.
•
Place the patch in position and get well warm to the touch usin a hair dryer or hot-

air un. Heat activates the lue, providin an instant and permanent bond. Work down
with a hard tool, applyin pressure to the patch while warm.
Temporary repairs can be effected without heat or solvent if the patch is applied before
one of the lued surfaces is dry, i.e. while still sli htly tacky.
Note: Factory repairs use the same adhesive with the addition of an acti ator. This has
the effect of reatly increasin bond stren th, resistance to heat and resistance to wa-
ter. It has limited shelf life. Supplies of activator in New Zealand are obtainable from In-
cept. Otherwise visit <http://www.incept.co.nz/inflatable_rafts_FAQ2.htm>.
10. Warranty
INCEPT inflatable boats are uaranteed for a period of five years in non-commercial use.
Any defects in materials or workmanship found durin that period will be made ood by
Incept Marine Ltd at no cost, provided only that the boat is returned to the Taihape NZ
factory or the nearest authorised repair depot, frei ht paid.
Warranty is not transferable with boat ownership. Dama e to internal baffles caused by
tamperin with the pressure relief valves are not covered by warranty.
