1Read all Instructions.
2Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not
immerse cord, plugs, or the kettle in water or other liquid.
4Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children.
5Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool
before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the
appliance.
6Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return
appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination,
repair or adjustment.
7The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance

9Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
10 Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated
oven.
11 Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall
outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to off, then remove plug from
wall outlet.
12 Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
13 Do not attempt to modify or extend the power cord of this appliance.
14 Do not handle the plug with wet hands. This could result in an electric
shock.
15 Unplug the power cord by holding the plug, never by pulling the cord.
16 This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

Additional safety concerns
1Before connecting the kettle to the power supply, make sure that the
voltage indicated on the bottom of the kettle and base corresponds
with the voltage in your home. If this is not the case, contact your
dealer and do not use the kettle.
2The attached base cannot be used for other than its intended use.
3Even though there is boil-dry protection built into the kettle, we
recommend that you do not operate the kettle without water to avoid
damaging the heat elements.
4Unplug the kettle when not in use.
5If you try to operate the kettle without water, the boil-dry protection
will automatically switch it off. If this should occur, allow the kettle to
cool before filling it with cold water.
6To prevent injury or damage from an overturned kettle, make sure that
the kettle is used on a firm and flat surface where children can’t touch
it.
7Always take care to pour boiling water slowly and carefully without
tipping the kettle too fast.
8Be careful when opening the lid for refilling when the kettle is hot.
9Use the handle to avoid touching the hot surface of the kettle.
10 Use extreme caution when moving an appliance containing hot water.
11 This kettle is not a toy. Do not let the children play with it.
12 Avoid to contacting steam from the spout when water is boiling, or
just after it has switched off. Do not remove the lid too soon.
13 Unplug the kettle from the wall outlet when not in use and before
cleaning. Allow it to cool before putting on or taking off parts and
before cleaning the kettle.
14 Always make sure that the lid is closed and that you do not lift it while
the water is boiling. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during
use.
15 Do not move the kettle while it’s on.
16 Only use the kettle with the base provided.
17 If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
18 This kettle is intended to be used in household and similar
environments.
Notes on the plug and the power cord
a) A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) should
be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.

b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available
and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
c) If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should
be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance; and
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over unintentionally.

Using your electric kettle
1Place the base on a flat, heat resistant surface, as close as possible to a
power outlet.
2Remove the kettle from the base and open the lid by pressing the
open button.
3Fill with the desired amount of water.
4Close the lid. Position the kettle on the base, making sure that the
kettle contacts the base completely.
5Connect the plug to a power outlet and press the power switch down
to turn on the kettle. The light turns on and the water begins to heat.
After the water has boiled, the kettle turns off automatically and the
light turns off.
You can shut off the power at any time by turning off the power
switch.
6Lift the kettle from the base, then pour the water.
7The kettle will not re-boil until the switch is turned on. Allow the kettle
to cool for 15~20 seconds before trying to reheat the water.
Note
Using your electric kettle for the first time
Clean your electric kettle before using it by boiling two full
kettles of water, then discarding the water.
Notes
• Always fill the kettle between the minimum (0.5L) and
maximum (1.5L) marks. Too little water results in the kettle
turning off before the water has boiled.
• Do not fill the water over the maximum level, as water may
spill out of the spout when boiling. Make sure that the lid is
firmly in place before connecting the power cord to the
outlet.
• Never fill the kettle with any liquid other than water.
Note
Make sure that the power switch is clear of obstructions and the
lid is firmly closed. The kettle will not turn off if the power switch
is constrained or if the lid is left open.
Caution
• Use caution when pouring the water from your kettle.
Contacting boiling water may result in a serious burn.
• Do not open the lid while the water in the kettle is hot.

The kettle may be stored on the base when not in use.
Boil-dry protection
If you try to operate the kettle without water, the boil-dry protection will
automatically turn it off. If this should occur, allow the kettle to cool before
filling with cold water.
Cleaning and maintaining your electric
kettle
• Always unplug the power cord and allow the kettle to cool down
completely before cleaning.
• Never immerse the kettle, cord, or base in water, or allow moisture to
contact with these parts.
Removing mineral deposits
Mineral deposits commonly found in tap water may cause the kettle
interior to discolor. To remove this build-up, use a non-toxic liquid
descaler.
You c a n a l so :
1Fill the kettle with three cups of white vinegar and the remainder with
water and let it stand overnight. Do not boil.
2Empty the solution from the kettle. Remove remaining stains with a
damp cloth.
3Boil two full kettles of water, then discard the water.
Cleaning the outside
Wipe the outside of your electric kettle with a damp cloth or sponge.
Cleaning the filter
Remove the filter periodically and clean it with a damp cloth.
Storing your electric kettle
When not in use, the power cord can be wound around the cord storage
under the base of the kettle.
Note
Make sure that the power cord is unplugged when the kettle is
not in use.
Caution
Do not use chemicals, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners to clean
the outside of the kettle.

Troubleshooting
Specifications
This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other household
wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health
from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of
material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection systems
or contact the retailer where the product was purchased. They can take this product for
environmental safe recycling.
Caution
Do not try to repair your kettle yourself. Doing so invalidates the
warranty.
Problem Possible solution
The kettle and indicator light do not
work when the power switch is
turned on.
• Make sure the kettle is seated properly on the base and that the base is connected
to a functioning electrical outlet.
• If the problem persists, please contact our customer service department.
The water is boiling, but the power
switch and indicator light are still
on.
• The auto-shut off function so not operate properly if the lid is not completely
closed. Let the kettle cool, then make sure that the lid is properly locked into
place.
• If the problem persists, please contact our customer service department.
The kettle will not turn on. • Make sure that the kettle is seated properly on the base and that the base is
connected to a functioning electrical outlet.
• Water or debris on the bottom of the kettle or on the base may interfere with the
functioning of the kettle. Be sure that the bottom of the kettle and the base are
dry and free of debris.
• If the problem persists, please contact our customer service department.
There are mineral deposits inside
the kettle.
• A certain amount of scale build-up is normal after long periods of use and is
caused by minerals contained in hard water. The best way to prevent mineral
deposits is to always use distilled water in the kettle.
• To remove deposits, try filling the kettle with water and adding a few slices of
lemon, then boil. If this does not work, see “Removing mineral deposits” on
page 7.

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY - INSIGNIA
Definitions:
The Distributor* of Insignia branded products warrants to you, the original purchaser of this new
Insignia-branded product (“Product”), that the Product shall be free of defects in the original
manufacturer of the material or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of your purchase
of the Product (“Warranty Period”).
For this warranty to apply, your Product must be purchased in the United States or Canada from a Best
Buy branded retail store or online at www.bestbuy.com or www.bestbuy.ca and is packaged with this
warranty statement.
How long does the coverage last?
The Warranty Period lasts for 1 year (365 days) from the date you purchased the Product. Your purchase
date is printed on the receipt you received with the Product.
What does this warranty cover?
During the Warranty Period, if the original manufacture of the material or workmanship of the Product is
determined to be defective by an authorized Insignia repair center or store personnel, Insignia will (at its
sole option): (1) repair the Product with new or rebuilt parts; or (2) replace the Product at no charge with
new or rebuilt comparable products or parts. Products and parts replaced under this warranty become
the property of Insignia and are not returned to you. If service of Products or parts are required after the
Warranty Period expires, you must pay all labor and parts charges. This warranty lasts as long as you own
your Insignia Product during the Warranty Period. Warranty coverage terminates if you sell or otherwise
transfer the Product.
How to obtain warranty service?
If you purchased the Product at a Best Buy or Future Shop retail store location, please take your original
receipt and the Product to any Best Buy or Future Shop store. Make sure that you place the Product in its
original packaging or packaging that provides the same amount of protection as the original packaging. If
you purchased the Product from a Best Buy or Future Shop online web site (www.bestbuy.com or
www.bestbuy.ca), mail your original receipt and the Product to the address listed on the web site. Make
sure that you put the Product in its original packaging or packaging that provides the same amount of
protection as the original packaging.
To obtain warranty service, in the United States call 1-888-BESTBUY, Canada call 1-866-BESTBUY for Future
Shop call 1-800-663-2275. Call agents may diagnose and correct the issue over the phone.
Where is the warranty valid?
This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada at Best Buy or Future Shop branded retail
stores or websites to the original purchaser of the product in the county where the original purchase was
made.
What does the warranty not cover?
This warranty does not cover:

• Damage due to incorrect operation or maintenance

• Products sold “as is” or “with all faults”
• Consumables, including but not limited to batteries (i.e. AA, AAA, C etc.)
• Products where the factory applied serial number has been altered or removed
• Loss or Theft of this product or any part of the product
• Display panels containing up to three (3) pixel failures (dots that are dark or incorrectly illuminated)
grouped in an area smaller than one tenth (1/10) of the display size or up to five (5) pixel failures
throughout the display. (Pixel based displays may contain a limited number of pixels that may not
function normally.)
• Failures or Damage caused by any contact including but not limited to liquids, gels or pastes.
REPAIR REPLACEMENT AS PROVIDED UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR BREACH
