ReplacingtheCPUboard
in the intelix 2U matrix chassis
IfitbecomesnecessarytoreplacethemainCPUboardinanintelix matrixhousedinthe2Uchassis,
followthedirectionsbelow.
RemovingtheOldCPUBoard
1)Powerdownthe matrix.
2)Turnthe matrix upside down on aworkbenchandremovetheten Phillips screws from the bottom. Set
thebottomaside.
3)From the rear panel, remove the hexcapture screws from the DB9 and DB25connectors. There are a
totalof four screws.
4)Removethetwo Phillips screws holding the CPU boardtothestandoffsinsidethechassis. Do not
removethe standoffs.
5)Takecarefulnoteofthe positions and the number of IPB cables plugged into the CPU board and discon-
nectthem.
6)Takenoteof the position of the power cableon the CPU board and disconnect it.
7)Liftthe CPU board out of the chassis and set itaside.
InstallingtheNewCPU Board
1)Removethe hex capture nuts for the DB9 and DB25 connectorsonthe new board.
2)Frominside the chassis, insert thenewboard’sconnectorsthrough the rear panel.
3)Reinstallthe hex capturenutsonthetwo connectors.
4)From insidethechassis,install andtightenthe twoPhillipsscrewsthrough thenewCPU board intothe
twostandoffs.
5)Replace the IPB and power cables inthe new board. Note: All IPC connectors are electricalparallel,
soanyIPBcablecango in any connector. Thepowercablemustgointheconnectorfromwhich you took
it.
6)Replace thebottomofthechassisbyinsertingand tighteningtheten Phillipsscrews.
7)Powerupandtestthe matrix.
