Wireless 150N USB Adapter, Model 524438.
This quick install guide presents the basic steps required to set up and
operate this device. For specications and more detailed instructions,
refer to the user manual 1) on the CD enclosed with this product; 2) on
the Web site below; or 3) in some cases, printed and enclosed with this
product. Contact your INTELLINET NETWORK SOLUTIONS dealer
with comments or questions, or visit www.intellinet-network.com for
information on the latest software and rmware updates, related products

I M P OR TAN T: For proper operation, do not connect the Wireless 150N
USB Adapter to your computer before you install the software. If you do,
wait for the Found New Hardware screen to display and click “Cancel”;
otherwise, the installation process will likely be adversely affected.
1. Insert the included setup CD in the CD-ROM drive and start the
INTELLINET WLAN.exe program. When the License Agreement
screen displays, read the agreement and click “Next” to accept the
terms and continue with the installation.
2. If you’re using the Wireless 150N USB Adapter for the rst time with
a particular notebook or desktop computer, it’s recommended that
both the driver and the utility be installed. If you only want to update
the driver, select “Install driver only” on the rst of the two Setup Type
screens that display (below). Once you’ve selected either option,
click “Next.”

3. On the second Setup Type screen (below), choose a conguration
tool. “INTELLINET Conguration Tool” is recommended, as it provides
access to all adapter features. If you prefer to use the tool provided by
Windows XP/Vista, select “Microsoft Zero Conguration Tool.” Choose
either (the setting can be changed after the install), then click “Next.”

4. When the Ready to Install the Program screen displays, click “Install.”
NOTE: If the Found New Hardware screen displays again, wait a few
moments and the Install screen will appear.
5. When the “InstallShield Wizard Complete” message displays, select
“Yes, I want to restart my computer now” and click “Finish.” Wait for the
computer to reboot before proceding with the next step.

6. With the computer now
turned on, insert the
Wireless 150N USB
Adapter into an open
USB 2.0 port.
NOTE: You can also
insert the adapter into
the provided stand and
connect the stand to
the USB port of the
computer.
7. With the Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard screen
displayed (which is automatic when the adapter is connected to the
computer), select the option “No, not this time” and click “Next.”

8. When prompted with “What do you want the wizard to do?” select
“Install the software automatically (Recommended)” and click “Next.”
9. A status screen will display, indicating that the installation is in
progress. No action is needed at this point.

10. When the Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard screen
displays, it indicates that the installation has been successfully
completed and your Wireless 150N USB Adapter is ready for
conguration.
coNfigUrAtioN
Once the installation is complete, you can congure the Wireless 150N
USB Adapter to connect to a wireless access point (AP). The wireless
conguration utility will start automatically, and you’ll also nd a red-and-
white INTELLINET icon at the lower right in your Windows systems tray.
1. Right-click the INTELLINET icon and select “Launch Cong Utility.”
2. The conguration utility will scan for wireless networks within range.
Click “Rescan” to refresh the list of available wireless networks. To
join a particular network that displays, select it and click “Connect.”

3. If the wireless network uses encryption, you need to input the correct
encryption key. The conguration utility automatically suggests the
correct authentication type (see the drop-down list), and you should
not change the suggested value. NOTE: For WPA/WPA2 networks,
you need to select the correct encryption type, as well (AES or TKIP).
These settings depend on how the wireless network is set up. Only
the owner of the wireless network can provide the required information.
4. If the wireless access point is successfully connected, you’ll see4in
front of the name of the wireless device.
NOTE: For advanced settings and additional features of the Wireless
150N USB Adapter, refer to the user manual on the enclosed CD.
