VQD-1404 is a quad switcher that receives video signals for 4
channels and displays them on a quad-divided screen. This
product has a simple design and compact size, which provides
only the essential functions as follows.

VQD-1404(QUAD SWITCHER)
Although it is neither complicated to install nor difficult to operate your
set, a few minutes of your time is required to read this manual for a
properly wired installation and becoming familiar with its many
features and how to use them. Please take a great care in unpacking
your set and do not discard the carton and other packing materials.
They may be needed when moving your set and are required if it
ever becomes necessary to return your set for service.
Never place the unit near radiators, in front of heating vents, in
excessively humid or dusty location to avoid early damage and for
your years of quality use. Connect your complementary components
as illustrated in the following page.

in the headquarters.
Installing the product in a hot(at +60°C or above)
or cold(at -10°C or below) place can degrade the
product performance or cause the abnormal
operation. Thus, the user should pay special
attention to ventilation especially
when installing the product
in a hot place.
Do not drop the product or apply severe
shocks or vibrations.
Do not position the product near
magnetic or inflammable materials.
It will damage the product or may cause
failure.

Do not install the product in dusty or
damp places with poor ventilation or

When water penetrates into the product, it
can cause abnormal operation.
Use a dry cloth to clean the product.
When cleaning the product, apply wax onto a dry
soft cloth, wipe the product gently and clean
it with cotton flannel.

.POWER SWITCH

CONNECTING A CAMERA AND MONITOR
1. Connect as many cameras as required (max. 4 units) to
the video input terminal on the rear panel.
2. Connect a monitor to the monitor terminal on the back of
the product.

TURNING ON THE POWER
1. Apply power to the DC 12V input terminal on the back.
2. Turn on the power switch on the front, and check if a green
light is turned on.

CHECKING VIDEO VIA A MONITOR
1. Check the individual video inputs
If you press a channel selection button (CH1/CH2/CH3/
CH4) on the front, the selected channel appears.
2. Checking Quad Screen
If you press the QUAD/SEQUENCE button on the front, a
quad screen appears. Users can watch a quad screen in 2
modes. For the information on settings of quad screen,
see the menu descriptions and setting methods.
3. Checking a full screen
If you press a channel selection button (CH1/CH2/CH3/
CH4) on the front, each channel is displayed on a full
screen.
4. Automatic channel switching
If you press the QUAD/SEQUENCE button on the QUAD
screen on the front, you can watch channels in sequence.
In this sequence mode, a full channel screen is displayed.
The order of sequential change can be modified on
“MENU/AUTO SEQUENCE”. (Default sequence: (CH1→
CH2→CH3→CH4→QUAD→CH1→...)
5. Using FREEZE function
On a full screen, if you press the selected screen once
again, the freeze function is selected; and if you press it
again, this function is released.

You can specify a title, border, and colors.
You can also select a quad screen of 2 types. (QUAD/POP)
4. ALARM
You can adjust alarm settings (N.C, N.O, OFF) and display
the current setting status.
You can also adjust the output status of a buzzer and relay
as well.
5. AUTO SEQUENCE
You can adjust the order and time interval of auto sequence.
The supported time range is 1-99 seconds.

There are two modes for alarm inputting method, which can be
set using menus.
1. N.O(Normal Open)
If the alarm input turns to LOW, it is recognized that an alarm
has occurred.
2. N.C(Normal Close)
In this case, the alarm input is usually in a LOW status, but it
turns to HIGH if an alarm occurs.
Upon inputting an alarm, one relay output is operated.
A remote control is used to control this product externally.
If you press both #1 and #2 on a remote control, a quad screen
is displayed.
