EasyLAN Ethernet Interface Installation Instructions
These instructions tell you how to install the EasyLAN Ethernet Interface
Board in a EasyCoder PD41/PD42 printer. The kit includes the following:
• EasyLAN Ethernet Interface Board
Required Tools
To install the interface board in your printer, you need these tools:
• Screwdriver, slotted
• Screwdriver, Phillips
Installing the Interface Board
Before you begin installation, please acknowledge the following important
safety notes:
The installation described in this section must only
be performed by an authorized service technician.

Make sure the printer has been turned off and
disconnected from the power supply before you
start installation.

To install the EasyLAN Ethernet Interface Board
1Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
2Open the side door. Remove the two screws that hold the cover to the
electronics compartment.
3Lay the printer down on its side, with the electronics compartment facing
up.
4Loosen the electronics compartment cover by placing the tip of a slotted
screwdriver at the edge of the cover and gently pushing the handle
towards the top of the printer. DO NOT attempt to bend it loose.
Take precautions against electrostatic discharge,
for example, by wearing grounded wrist straps.

5Slide the cover out along the rails and remove it from the printer.
6Put the printer back in upright position.
7Locate the screw in the upper left corner of the electronics compartment
that holds the main board in place. Remove the screw.

8Connect the EasyLAN board to the connector marked “Ethernet
Option” on the main board.
9Reattach the screw.
10 Reattach the cover.
When you turn on the printer, it automatically recognizes the EasyLAN
board.
Please refer to the EasyLAN Software Installation Instructions
(P/N 1-960667-xx) for information on configuring the network settings. If
you have a PD42 printer you can change settings directly from the display,
for help see the EasyCoder PD42 Printer User’s Guide (P/N 934-009-xxx).
