1Preliminary information
Before working with the controller, read the Operator's Manual and follow the
instructions contained therein!
Description of symbols used in this manual:
This symbol indicates an obligation to read
the appropriate place in the user manual, warnings and important

The appearance of the screenshots shown in this manual may differ from their actual
appearance. Due to the continuous software development of the modules, some

2Purpose of the device
Industry, services, commerce, logistics are just some of the industries where the
reader can be used. It can be used as a tool for logging into a machine, access to a
room (warehouse), an element of a loyalty system, a time recorder, etc. Using its
own application or protocols supported by the reader, the user can control practically
every element of the reader - display, buzzer, inputs, outputs. Thanks to the built-in
memory, he also has access to the list of logs stored in it. The IP65 sealed enclosure
guarantees trouble-free operation even when mounted on the façade of a building*.
The user can integrate the reader into his system using the protocols Modbus
TCP/RTU, HTTP client/server (HTTPS supported), SNMP.
Due to the built-in memory, the reader can operate autonomously without an external
server.

3Warranty and liability of the manufacturer
The manufacturer provides a one-year warranty for the device and
a post-warranty service for a period of 10 years from the date the
device was placed on the market. The warranty covers all defects
in materials and workmanship.
The manufacturer undertakes to comply with the guarantee agreement if the
following conditions are met:
•all repairs, modifications, extensions and calibrations of the appliance are
carried out by the manufacturer or an authorised service centre,
•the mains power supply conforms to the applicable standards,
•the appliance is operated in accordance with the instructions given in
•in this manual,
•the appliance is used in accordance with its intended use.
The manufacturer does not accept any responsibility for the consequences arising
from incorrect installation, improper use of the appliance, failure to observe the
operating instructions and repairs carried out by non-authorised personnel.
There are no user-replaceable parts in the unit.
4Safety of use
The module was constructed using modern electronic components in line with the
latest trends in in global electronics. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring
optimum operational safety and control reliability.
The unit has a high-quality plastic housing.
4.1 Storage, working conditions
The equipment should be stored in enclosed areas, where the atmosphere is free of
vapours and corrosive agents, and:
•ambient temperature of -30°C to +60°C,
•humidity between 25% and 90% (no condensation allowed),
•atmospheric pressure 700 to 1060hPa.
The device is designed to operate under the following conditions:
•an ambient temperature of -10°C to +55°C,
•humidity between 30% and 75%,
•atmospheric pressure of 700 to 1060hPa.
Recommended transport conditions:
•an ambient temperature of -40°C to +85°C,
•humidity between 5% and 95%,
•atmospheric pressure 700 to 1060hPa.

4.2 Installation and use of the module
The module should be operated in accordance with the recommendations given
further in this manual.
4.3 Disposal and decommissioning
In the event that it becomes necessary to dispose of the appliance (e.g. at the end of
its useful life), contact the manufacturer or the manufacturer's representative, who is
obliged to respond appropriately, i.e. to collect the appliance from the user. The user
may also contact companies dealing with the disposal and/or decommissioning of
electrical or computer equipment. Under no circumstances should the appliance be
placed with other refuse.
5Construction of the module
5.1 Technical data
Power supply:
•DC: 10-24VDC (3.5mm screw connector),
•Optional PoE IEEE 802.3af or PoE passive 12-24VDC,
•Power consumption: max 2.5W ( ~200mA@12V).
Transponders:
•tag reading distance: up to 8cm from the front of the device (display/diode
side),
•built-in memory:
•200 kB card file: approx. 5,000 RFID tags,
•- 30,000 events.
Inputs:
•number of inputs: 2,
•input type: normally open/open (NO).
Outputs:
•number of outputs: 2,
•output type: NO relay
•maximum load: 1A @ 30V DC.
Communication:
•1 Ethernet port, speed 10/100Mbps,

Housing:
•housing class: IP65
Due to the variety of installations and the varying needs of installers, the unit does
not have any mounting holes in the housing. Holes should be made in the rear of the
housing, anywhere - this does not affect the warranty. Be sure to use a suitable cable
grommet to maintain watertightness.

5.2 Communication channels and general features
A general view of the module is shown below.
Communication with the module can take place via LAN (WLAN) or RS485.
Various communication protocols are available for accessing status readings and
device control:
•embedded web server, using a standard web browser (preferred browser:
CHROME),
•HTTP/HTTPS in server mode,
•HTTP/HTTPS in client mode,
•Modbus TCP,
•Modbus RTU (RS485 or optionally RS232),
•MQTT in client mode.
The reader supports SSL encryption, HTTPS, certificate control and emailing.
The module comes in versions with an LCD display or LEDs, which signal power and
card reading by default. The user can take control of the beeper, the display or the
LEDs (depending on the model of the unit).
6Device configuration
On first start-up, it is necessary to configure the device.
This can be done in two ways. The simplest method is to use the Inveo Discoverer
software (download link).
6.1 Changing the basic network settings - Discoverer programme
Download and install the Discoverer application. Once the application is launched,
select the appropriate network interface and press the Discover Devices button - all
available Inveo devices will be displayed.

On the selected device, press the right
mouse button and activate the network
settings edit window.
If Remote Config is disabled (enabled by default), it is necessary to configure the
device, via the built-in web server. This operation requires changing the subnet of the
computer (chapter 6.2).
The Remote Config setting can be edited from the web server under the
Administration tab. Simply check/uncheck the Enable remote config option.
After the changes have been made, confirm them with the Save button.
6.2 Changing the subnet of the computer to be configured
When configuring the device without the Discoverer application, it is necessary to first
change the subnet address of the computer connected to the same network.
To do this, go to the network configuration of your computer:
Press Win + R, type ncpa.cpl and press Enter,
or
Start → Control panel → Network and Internet → Network centre
Network and Sharing → Change network adapter settings.
Select the network connection, press the right mouse button and click Properties.

When this option is selected, the configuration screen will appear:
Then select the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" setting and enter the following parameters:
After accepting the settings with the OK button, start a web browser and enter the
address: 192.168.111.15. (Default user and password: admin/admin).

6.3 Configuring LAN and Wi-Fi settings
In the Administration / Network tab it is possible to change the parameters of the LAN
network (and WLAN if available).
Use the fields to change the network settings of the device:
•DHCP –forcing the use of an IP address assigned by a DHCP server.
If there is no DHCP server:
•IP Address –the IP address of the module,
•IP Mask –IP subnet mask,
•Gateway –network gateway,
•DNS1, DNS2 –server addresses.

In the version of the device equipped with a Wi-Fi module, additional options are
available to configure the wireless connection:
•MAC Address
•Enable –Wi-Fi on/off,
•DHCP –forcing the use of an IP address assigned by a DHCP server,
•IP –the IP address of the module,
•Netmask –IP subnet mask,
•Gateway –network gateway,
•DNS1, DNS2 –server addresses DNS,
•SSID –broadcast name of the wireless network,
•Password –wireless network password,
•Encryption –encryption method.
After making changes, click Save and restart the device.

6.4 Checking network status
The device allows you to check the current settings of the LAN and WLAN. On the
Administration / Network tab, press the Show net status button.
The Interface eth section contains settings for the LAN:
•MAC –MAC address of the device,
•IP –current IP address,
•Mask –network mask,
•Gateway –network gateway,
•DNS1, DNS2 –DNS server addresses.
The wlan interface section contains settings for WLAN (Wi-Fi):
•MAC –MAC address of the device,
•IP –current IP address,
•Mask –network mas,
•Gateway –network gateway,
•DNS1, DNS2 –DNS server addresses,
•SSID –broadcast name of the WLAN to which the device is connected,
•RSSI –Wi-Fi signal strength expressed in dBm. A value of -110 means no
signal.

7.1 Device status
Device status is available via the website (default IP: 192.168.111.15).
Table Status:
•Input 1 –current state of input number 1 (binary input),
•Input 2 –current state of input number 2 (binary input),
•Relay 1 –current state of relay output 1,
•Relay 2 –current status of relay output 2,
•Last read ID - last TAG read in HEX format,
•Number of read ID - number of tags read since the device was restarted.

7.2 Administration tab
The Administration tab allows the user to configure diagnostic services, time settings,
network settings, update and change the device's password. The user can also
backup the settings.
7.2.1 Module name
Each device can be given a unique name for identification purposes.
The Enable Remote Config service is described in the chapter 6.1.

7.2.2 Changing the password
The user can deactivate the reader access password or change it. In order to do so,
the current password should be entered in the Current Password field, while in the
New Password and Re-type Password fields, the new password should be entered and
confirmed with the Save button.
7.2.3 Time settings
The Administration / Time tab offers options for configuring the date and time. The
reader has a built-in real-time clock with battery backup, so even in the event of a
power failure the time will be correctly measured.
The Update Time button synchronises the internal clock time with the current time set
on the computer. The time zone can be set from the drop-down list.
Selecting Daylight saving means that summer and winter time are enforced.

7.2.4 SNTP time server
The device supports SNTP client support. To configure the SNTP service, go to the
Service / SNTP tab.
•Enable –inclusion of SNTP client,
•Server –IP address or domain name of the SNTP server,
•Poll time –frequency of time server polling.
7.2.5 Diagnosis, events
The module has extensive diagnostic options. The user can set which data are to be
logged into the reader's memory and/or sent to the Syslog server. Configuration is
available from the Administration / System Events page.

The Log Events to flash settings table allows you to configure the events to be logged
to flash memory:
•Enable –inclusion of event logging in flash memory,
•Log cards events –setting the logging of card insertion events - independent
of the logging into the card memory,
•Log IO –setting up the logging of changes in the states of inputs and outputs,
•Log system events –setting logging of system events, i.e.: switching on the
module, changes to the time settings, reset, restart and configuration changes,
•Log network events –setting up network event logging, e.g.: establishing a
Wi-Fi connection.
A preview of the logged data is available by clicking on the System log link, while the
Real-time diagnostic message link takes you to a page with logs displayed in real
time.

7.2.6 Syslog
The device has the ability to transmit data to a Syslog server. The user can select
which events will be sent. Configuration is carried out in the Syslog Settings table,
located on the Administration / System Events tab.
•Enable –enable syslog client,
•Server –syslog server address,
•Port –the port number the server is listening on - by default 514.
7.2.7 Special
The Special tab is for special customised configuration settings.
7.3 Tab I/O Settings
The reader is equipped with two relay outputs and two digital potential-free inputs.
The user can configure the relay trigger mode from the I/O Settings tab.
•Out mode –action on exit triggers:
onone –software deactivation of relay control,
ooff –switching off the relay,
oon –switching on the relay,
otoggle –changing the state of a relay to the opposite,
oon period –switching on the relay for the time defined in the out time
field,
oon long period –switching on the relay for the time defined in the out
time long field.
•Out time –relay activation time for on period mode,
•Out time long –switching time of the relay for on long period mode,
