The Multibox SAT>IP Server allows free Satellite Live TV programs to be received and distributed to smart phones,
tabletPCsandnotebooks/PCs andother ClientdevicesoveryourLAN/WLAN homenetwork.The Multiboxis
equippedwithfoursatellitetuners,souptofouruserscanwatchtheirfavouritechannelsontheirmobiledevices.
TheMultiboxdevice,thereforemustbeconnectedtothesameWLAN/LANnetworktheClientdevicesarecon-
nectedto.

The Multibox can be connected to any of the following satellite reception equipment:
Quad / Octo LNBs or Universal multiswitches
ConnecttheoutputsoftheLNB/multiswitchtotheinputs1…4oftheMultiboxviasuitableSATantennacables.
Note: If you intend to use less than 4 client devices, you require correspondingly less inputs (connect from input

theMultiboxwillbeabletoobtainnetworkIPsettingsautomatically.TheMultiboxshallbeconnectedonthesame

ForasmoothvideostreamingofsatelliteLiveTVwerecommendusinga1GbELANrouterora300Mbit/sWLAN

Switching On your Multibox device
Switch OntheMultiboxusingthepowerswitch9,whichislocatedattherearside.TheMultibox
connects to the network and obtains network IP settingsfromtheDHCPserver(LANconnectionLEDblinks).
Oncetheconnectionisestablished,theLANconnectionindicatorLEDlightspermanently.
Configuration
TheMultiboxcanbeconguredusingaPCthatisconnectedwithinthesamenetwork.Thecongurationisdone
throughawebinterfaceandrequirestologinthedevicerst.
ThedefaultnameofyourMultiboxdeviceis‘myMultibox-xxxxxx’where xxxxxx are the 6 right-most characters
of the unit’s MAC addressandthisishowitwillbedisplayedonthenetwork.Youcanchangethedevicename
lateroninthecongurationmenu1.
TheMACaddressoftheunitappearsonthestickeratthebottomsideoftheunit.
YoucanaccesstheloginpageandthecongurationmenususinganyPCconnectedinthesamenetworkas
follows:

Your Multibox device supports theApple’s Bonjour* protocol. If you areusing anApple computer or ifApple’s
Bonjour software is installed on your Window PC, then simply type the following address in the address bar of the
browser: myMultibox-xxxxxx.local
Where the “xxxxxx” are the 6 right-most characters of your Multibox´s MAC address (see the label at the bottom side

iTunes,iPhotoandothers.
IfyourPCdoesnothaveApple’sBonjoursoftwareinstalled,typetheIPaddress,whichwasassignedtoyourMul-
tiboxdevicebythelocalDHCPserver,and,separatedbya“:”,port8080e.g.192.168.0.166:8080.Subsequently
press“Enter”.
ThisIPaddresswasassignedfromthenetworkrouterandcanbefoundinthecongurationmenuoftherouter(the
DHCPprotocolmustbeactivatedintherouter).
LOGIN WINDOW

Selectthe“Antenna”menu.
SelectthetypeofLNBthatisconnectedtoSatelliteinputofyourMultiboxbasedonyoursatelliteinstallation:
1.“Quad”(defaultfactorysetting)–Select‘Quad’whenaQuadLNB,OctoLNBorUniversalmultiswitchis
connectedtoyourMultibox.
2.“Quattro”(QuattroLNB)–Select‘Quattro’whenaQuattroLNBisconnectedtoyourMultiboxdirectly.
3.“Unicable”(UnicableLNBorUnicablemultiswitch)–Select‘Unicable’whenaUnicableLNBorUnicableswitch
isconnectedtoyourMultibox.
4.Clickon“Save”(Speichern).
If“Unicable”isselected,therewillbe4inputboxesdisplayedforyoutosettheUnicable4UserBandfrequencies.

YourMultiboxdeviceisalsoaDLNA-compatibleserverandthereforecanstreamLiveSatelliteTVtoDLNAMedia
PlayerClientdevicesand/orsoftwareapplications(DLNAClients)thatarenotstandardSAT>IPClients.Itisim-
portanttounderstandthatusingDLNAforLiveTVstreamingislimitedtoaudioandvideoonlyandotherinforma-
tionsuchasEPG,teletextorsubtitlingcannotbeaccessiblebytheDLNAClients.IfyouwouldliketouseDLNA
Clients,youhavetoenabletheDLNAServeroptionasfollows:
1.Selectthe“DLNA”menu
2.Checkthe“DLNAaktiv”checkboxandconrmbyclickingon“Save”(Speichern).UnlikeSAT>IPClientsthat
holdsandmanagestheTV/Radiochannellist,theDLNAClientsarerelyingonchannellistsprovidedbythe
DLNAServer.YourMultiboxdevicestoresadefaultchannellist(MainTVList)ofGermanASTRA19.2°TV
channels.Thechannellistisstoredasatextlethatcanbeeditedmanuallyifneeded.
Underthe“DLNAMainTVList”sectionyoucanuploadanupdatedchannellist(MainTVList)whichyourstneed
to download from www.inverto.tv/multibox.

Youcancreateandmanageyourownfavouritechannellistundersection“FavoritList(s)”.
Using the respective buttons, you can create (“New”),exporttole(“Export”, for backup), if necessary re-import
fromle(“Import”), modify (“Edit”)or delete (“Delete”)afavouritelist.
• Clickonbutton“New”.
• Clickonthenewlistandselect“Edit”.
• Selectachannelfromthemainlist(“MainTVList”)andmoveit(drag&drop)toyourfavouritelist
usingthemouse.
• To remove a channel from the favourite list, select the channel you want to delete and move it (drag &
drop)tothetrash
• Usingthebutton“Sort”(Sortieren)youcansortthemainlistinalphabeticalorder.Thebutton
“Deleteall”(Alleslöschen)deletesallthechannelsofafavouritelist.
• Savethefavouritelistbythebutton“Save”(Speichern),thenthisfavouritelistwillbethechannellist
thatDLNAClientswillbeabletouse(insteadofthedefaultmainlist).

THE SYSTEM MENU
Using the “System”menu,youcanperformarmwareupdate,changethecongurationloginpassword,change
thedefaultdevicename,setamanualIPaddresstothedeviceaswellasperformasystemreboot.
ONLINE FIRMWARE UPDATE
Clickonbutton“Search”,inordertosearchforanewerrmwareonline.Ifanewrmwareisavailableitwillbe
downloadedautomatically.Clickingonthebutton“Update”(Aktualisieren)willstarttheprocessofinstallingthe
newrmwareontotheMultiboxdevice.Attheendoftheinstallationprocess,theMultiboxwillrestartautomatically.
Note:TheMultiboxdevicemustbeconnectedtotheinternetinordertosearchandaccessnewrmwareupdates.
IfyournetworkhasnoactiveDHCPserver,youwillneedtomanuallyenterDNSandGatewayIPaddressesin
theNetworkmenu.
LOCAL FIRMWARE UPDATE VIA CONNECTED PC
1.Clickonbutton“ChooseFile”andselectthelecontaininganewrmware(e.g.idl4k.bin).
2.Clickingonthebutton“Update”(Aktualisieren)willstarttheprocessofinstallingthenewrmwareontothe
Multiboxdevice.Attheendoftheinstallationprocess,theMultiboxwillrestartautomatically.
CHANGING THE PASSWORD
1.Enterthenewpasswordintobothtextinputboxesandclickonthebutton“Apply”(Aendern).TheMultiboxshall
berestartedinordertosetthenewpassword.
2.Clickonbutton“Restart”(Neustart).

Firmware update over the
USB port
Note:ThisrmwareupdateoptiondoesnotrequireaPC.
1.SwitchoffyourMultiboxdevice.
2.CopythenewrmwareletoanUSBstickattherootdirectory.Thestickmustbeformattedwiththe“FAT32”
lesystem.
3.InserttheUSBstickintotheupperUSBsocketatthebackpanelofyourMultiboxdevice.
4.SwitchonyourMultiboxdevice.
Thermwarewillbeupdatedautomatically.Youwillseea“runninglight”onthefrontpanelLEDs12.Attheendof
thermwareupdateallfrontpanelLEDswillswitchonandthenoff.Thenthedevicewillstartnormally.
Factory Reset
The ‘FactoryReset’functionwillresetthedevicetotheoriginalfactorysettings.Thismeansthatifyouhavecre-
atedafavouritelist,itwillbedeletedduringthe‘FactoryReset’process.Ifyouwanttokeepyourfavouritelistfor
futureuse,youwillhavetoExportthefavouritelisttoalerstandstoreitonyourPC.Afterthe‘FactoryReset’
ended,youcanimportthefavouritelistlefromyourPCorcreateanewone.
Similarly,updatesofthemainTVlist(MainTVList)mustbeloadedagain.
Toperform‘FactoryReset’:SwitchoffyourMultiboxdevice9,pressandholdtheresetbutton5ontherearpanel
ofyourMultiboxwhileyoupoweronthedeviceandkeepitpressedfor10seconds.

2.StarttheApp.

Usingtheprogramme“DVBViewer”youcangetaccesstoyourMultibox.HereinalsoTeletextandEPGisavail-
able.
DLNA Clients
AsDLNAisanopenstandard,hardwareaswellasseveralsoftware(Apps)whichsupportsDLNAareavailable.If
theDLNAServeroptionofyourMultiboxisactivated,youcanreceivethechannelsofthe“mainTVlist”(“MainTV
List”)orofthefavouritelistusingDLNAClientdevices.
UPnP Client devices
UPnP-compatibleClientdevices/softwaree.g.VLCplayer,canaccessthe“mainTVlist”aswellasthefavourite
list.
Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP)
IfyouhavecomprehensiveknowledgeofsatelliteandIPtechnology,youalsocanuseClientdevices/software
whichcancommunicateviatheRealTimeStreamingProtocol(e.g.VLCplayer),tocontrolthesatellitetunersof
yourMultiboxviaRTSPcommands.
