1Introduction
Congratulations on your new TR-10 Portable Conference Phone for Skype (or TR-10
Speakerphone – let’s keep things simple!)
The TR-10 Speakerphone is a plug-and-play speaker and handset to chat using your
favorite internet phone (such as Yahoo Messenger, Skype, Xlite etc) with advanced
features for Skype. Use it to chat with friends, conference with business partners, or
even podcast!
With the IPEVO Control Center for Skype, the TR-10 Speakerphone is also your
personal speaker phone for all Skype needs: one-touch functions allow you to
launch Skype, accept and decline calls, mute conversations or record them using the
included FreeRec program.

1. Speaker/Headset Switch
Toggle this switch to change from speaker to handset and back. If the green light is
on, the TR-10 is in handset mode.
2. Volume Control buttons
Press “+” to increase the volume, and “-” to decrease the volume.
1.3 TR-10 One-Touch Functions for Skype
With the IPEVO Control Center is running, the TR-10 offers these Skype shortcuts:
3. Call/Yes/Hold button
Press this button to call a selected contact or to accept an incoming call. Press this
button during a call to put the call on hold, and press again to resume.
4. Skype button
Press and hold this button to launch your Skype program (Skype must be running).
5. Hang up/Decline button
Hangs up at the end of a conversation or declines an incoming call.
6. Mute button
Mutes a conversation in progress in Skype. Press the Mute button again to resume
your conversation
7. End recording
Stops a recording started in freeRec.
8. Record/Pause button
Records a Skype conversation using the included freeRec software. Press this button
during a recording to pause it, and press again to resume recording.

2.1 Getting Set Up
To benefit from the TR-10’s advanced functions in Skype, you will need to install the
IPEVO Control Center. Here’s how:
1. Install
Insert the CD in your drive, or download the latest IPEVO Control Center driver for
Skype at www.ipevo.com/support to ensure that your TR-10 Speakerphone works in
sync with your computer’s latest operating system update.
The installation process should start automatically. Simply follow the prompts to
install the IPEVO driver and to complete the installation process.
(If the IPEVO Control Center does not start automatically, you can start the program
manually by launching the installation file on your CD-ROM drive or download site.)
2. Connect
To complete the IPEVO driver installation, connect the TR-10 Speakerphone to your
computer’s USB Port. In certain cases, the following screen may appear:
At the prompt that another program wants to access Skype, select Allow this
program to use Skype and Click OK.
3. You’re done!
A screen prompt will appear to notify you once installation is complete and the
IPEVO Control Center icon shortcut will appear on your desktop. The IPEVO Control
Center allows you to conveniently access and customize preferences for your TR-10
Speakerphone.

The IPEVO Control Center for Skype will automatically run. Restarting your computer
after installation is recommended to ensure all the functions are working.
You’re ready to start chatting!
2.2 TR-10 Shortcuts to Skype
Sign in to your Skype account. If you do not have one, create one at www.skype.com
The TR-10 Speakerphone offers the following one-touch shortcuts to Skype functions
when the IPEVO Control Center is running:
1. Launching Skype using the TR-10
Click the Skype button to launch Skype on your desktop (If Skype is running).
2. Accepting or declining an incoming call
When you receive an incoming call, press the Call/Yes/Hold button to accept, or the
Hang up / Decline button to decline.
3. Placing a call on hold
When in a conversation, press the Call/Yes/Hold button to put it on hold. Press it
again to resume.
4. Changing from speaker mode to handset mode during a call
You can use TR-10 in speaker mode for hands-free or conference calls, or switch to
handset mode to keep your conversations private.
Toggle between handset (left) or conference mode (right).
The light becomes green when in handset mode.

5. Hanging up
At the end of a Skype conversation, press the Hang up / Decline button to hang up.
6. Muting a conversation
Press the Mute button to mute a Skype conversation. Press it again to unmute.
2.3 Recording a Skype Conversation
When the IPEVO Control Center is running, the included freeRec software enables
you to record conversations made with Skype at the touch of a button. FreeRec also
allows you to record your voice directly from the TR-10 for audio note taking,
speaking text for powerpoints, or voice over for movies made with other software.
1. Starting a recording
Launch freeRec by pressing the Record/Pause button on the TR-10. If the recording
does not start immediately, press the button again to start the recording.
2. Pausing and resuming a recording
Press the Record/Pause button during a recording to pause it. Press it once more to
resume.
3. Ending a recording
Press the End Recording button during a recording to end it.
The Call Status Indicator will light up while a record is taking place, and flash when
the recording is paused. The indicator will switch off when the recording is stopped.
TIP: Look in the freeRec option to change the recording quality, file name and
destination folder.

3.1 The Basic Idea
With the TR-10 Speakerphone, chat with your contacts using Skype-to-Skype or use
SkypeOut to call landlines and cell phones. Skype-to-Skype calls require both users
to have the free Skype software running on their computer. Skype-to-Skype calls can
be voice calls or videochatting.
SkypeOut enables users to call landlines and cellphones across the world. These
calls can be made by purchasing credits. Once you’ve set up your account with
Skype, you can log on to any computer in the world that has internet access, and
use your credits! To check on rates and availability, visit www.skype.com.

3.2 Making Skype-to-Skype Calls
Step 1. Launch Skype.
Step 2. Select the person you want to call in your contact list.
Step 3. Press the Answer/Yes/Hold button.
Start your conversation! The conversation time is displayed on your screen as shown
below.
TIP: you can use the TR-10 as a speakerphone if you need to be hands free or if you
want others to join in; or toggle switch to handset to keep it private!
3.3 Making SkypeOut calls
SkypeOut calls are phone calls placed from Skype to landlines and cell phones. Visit
www.skype.com for more detailed information such as rates and availability.
Step 1. Press the “+” key before dialing the number you are trying to reach.
For example, dial “+” 1 408 324 0158 to reach IPEVO customer service in California.
Step 2. Press the Call/Yes/Hold button to call.

4.1 Using your TR-10 with your chat software (Yahoo Messenger, MSN Live, X-lite, etc)
Your TR-10 is a plug-and-play speakerphone for all internet chatting software – use
it with MSN Live, Yahoo Messenger, Xlite, etc. Select “TR-10” as audio input and
output in the software’s Audio Preferences, and start chatting with your friends and
family!

5Warranty Information
5.1 Warranty Coverage Information
IPEVO products come with a one year parts and labor limited warranty from the date of purchase as de-
scribed below. Note that shipping and handling fees are not covered by this warranty.
This warranty is valid only for the first consumer purchaser. IPEVO warrants its products to be free from
defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period. If a product proves to be defective in
material or workmanship during the warranty period, IPEVO will, at its sole option, repair or replace the
product with a similar product. Replacement Product or parts may include remanufactured or refurbished
parts or components. The replacement unit will be covered by the balance of the time remaining on the
customer’s original limited warranty. IPEVO provides no warranty for the third-party software included with
the product or installed by the customer.
5.2 What the warranty does not cover
IPEVO retains the right to refuse warranty repair or exchange for reasons such as but not limited to those
listed below:
Any product on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed.
Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:
• Accident, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature
• Unauthorized product modification, or failure to follow instructions supplied with the product, including
use of the product with non authorized programs.
• Repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by IPEVO.
• Damage to or loss of any programs, data or removable storage media.
• Software or data loss occurring during repair or replacement.
• Any damage of the product due to shipment.
• Removal or installation of the product.
• Causes external to the product, such as electric power fluctuations or failure.
• Use of supplies or parts not meeting IPEVO’s specifications.
• Normal wear and tear.
• Any other cause which does not relate to a product defect (unclear voice quality due to network and not
hardware).
5.3 Limitation of Implied Warranties
THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION
CONTAINED HEREIN INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

EXCLUSION OF DAMAGES
IPEVO’S LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCT. IPEVO SHALL
NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
DAMAGE TO OTHER PROPERTY CAUSED BY ANY DEFECTS IN THE PRODUCT, DAMAGES BASED UPON
INCONVENIENCE, LOSS OF USE OF THE PRODUCT, LOSS OF TIME, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS OP-
PORTUNITY, LOSS OF GOODWILL, INTERFERENCE WITH BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS, OR OTHER COMMERCIAL
LOSS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
ANY OTHER DAMAGES, WHETHER INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHERWISE.
ANY CLAIM AGAINST THE CUSTOMER BY ANY OTHER PARTY.
EFFECT OF LOCAL LAW:
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from locality to
locality. Some localities do not allow limitations on implied warranties and/or do not allow the exclusion of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.
5.4 Return and Exchange Policy and Procedure
Within one year of the purchase date, IPEVO will repair the defective unit, or if the unit is not repairable, is-
sue a working replacement for free. You may also return the product within the terms of the above described
warranty. Note that shipping and handling fees are not covered by this offer.
In order to obtain warranty service:
Step. 1 Contact IPEVO Customer Support at 1 877 269 4738 or email us at cs@IPEVO.com for a Return Mate-
rial Authorization number (RMA). You will be required to provide:
1. A copy of the dated sales slip or transaction ID# from our online store.
2. Your name.
3. Your ship to address, email address and phone number.
4. The serial number of the product.
5. A description of the problem.
Step 2. Bring or ship the product prepaid in the original container, with the associated accessories, to IPEVO
at 2860 Zanker Rd Suite 104, Attn: Return and Exchange Department, San Jose, CA 95134. Insurance of the
returning product is recommended should you experience any transportation claim from the carrier you
select.
