Spring Bracket Assembly

Note: Drawing is an example only, not all types of Spring-brackets are shown
Familiarize yourself with the parts of the
mounting system.
1) Mounting Bracket
2) Pinch Plate
3) Pinch Plate Screws
4) Ribbon Cable
These are the general mounting
instructions for the IST Touch Systems
that use a “Spring-type” bracket as
shown here.
If you have “L-type” bracket, as shown here,
please refer to the L-bracket assembly
instructions on page 6.
Step 2:
Carefully lower the top of the touch panel onto the display, and swing the bottom into place.
As an alternative method of assembly, you may remove all brackets and have one person hold the panel in
place while a second person pro-
ceeds to step 3.
Step 1:
Align the touch panel in front of display.
Loosen, but do not remove, the two pinch plate screws holding each of the mounting brackets on the bottom
and/or the sides of the panel. DO NOT remove the brackets on the top of the frame.
Slide the mounting brackets out of the
pinch plates and set aside for step 2.
Step 3:
With the touch panel centered on the display, slide the remaining spring brackets into place
under the pinch plates. Evenly tighten the two pinch plate screws.
If the mounting points are towards the extreme corners of the touch panel, the brackets may
pass under the ribbon cables connecting the circuit boards. Use extra caution to ensure the
cables do not become unplugged or damaged while inserting the brackets.

On some models of displays, protrusions, such as a logo or buttons, may block the infrared sensor path and
it may be necessary to loosen the pinch plate screws and slide the touch panel back a fraction of an inch.

Step 2:
Loosen, but do not remove, the two pinch plate
screws holding each of the mounting brackets in
place.
Slide the mounting brackets out of the pinch
plates and mount on the rear of the display either
with the provided screws, or with the existing
screws set aside in step 1.
Step 1:
Align the touch panel in front of display and
match the mounting brackets to the mounting
screws on the rear of the display.
In some cases the mounting point will
be an empty screw hole, and the
correct screw will be provided with
the touch panel.
In other cases, the mounting point will be one
of the case screws of the display. In this
situation, remove the existing screw and set it
aside for step 2
Step 4:
With the touch panel in the correct position,
evenly tighten the pinch plate screws.

On some models of displays, protrusions, such as a logo or buttons, may block the infrared sensor path and
it may be necessary to loosen the pinch plate screws and slide the touch panel back a fraction of an inch.
Step 3:
Carefully slide the touch panel
over the display, allowing the
mounting brackets to slide under
the pinch plates.
If the pinch plates are in the
corners of the touch panel, in the
vicinity of the ribbon cables
running between the circuit
boards, use extra care not to
unplug these cables when
inserting the brackets.
PC Serial Connection:
The touch panel is connected to a standard 9 pin PC serial port using a standard 9 pin
male-female straight through not a null modem) cable.
DVD Connection:
Connect the supplied adapter cable to the 25 pin serial port on the back of the
Pioneer DVD player. Using the serial cable connect the touch panel to the 9 pin
adapter.
Touch Panel Connections
Power Connection:
The transformer supplied with the touch panel is an unregulated 12VDC~1.25A model. The transformer should
be plugged into a standard 120AC electrical outlet. The power jack for the transformer’s plug is located on the
bottom rear of the touch panel bezel. Plug the round connector from the transformer into the power jack of the
bezel.
PC USB Connection:
Plug the supplied USB/Serial adapter into the computer’s USB port. Then using the
provided serial cable connect the adapter to the touch panel serial connector.
Be sure to install the USB/Serial adapter driver provided before installing the UPDD
touch screen driver.
