INTRODUCTION:
The Step-Sensor Touchless Trash Can is the latest invention by iTouchless to help
make life easier. It uses patent pending technology that opens the trash can’s lid by
using Step-Sensor. There are three Step-Sensor plates, one in the front and one on
each side of the trash can. Users can open the trash can lid by lightly placing their
foot on one of the three Step-Sensor plates. By having Step-Sensor on all three
sides of the trash can, as opposed to one sided step pedal on conventional step
trash can, saving time and effort has never been easier. The task of opening and
closing the trash can just got easier by not having to force down on the step pedal.
The lid will remain open until stepping away from the sensor plate. Remain-Open
mode allows the lid to stay open longer during cooking and cleaning time. The better
Step-Sensor Trash Can will revolutionize the way you use the trash can forever.
Status Indicator LED
(1) Flashing Blue –When the Step-Sensor is working
(2) Flashing Green –Remain-Open mode is engaged
(3) Flashing Yellow –Battery low; replace new set of batteries immediately
(4) No light –Standby mode
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Plug in Step-Sensor Plate(s) in the slots located at bottom of the front and two
sides of the trash can. Push all the way until you feel a click. You can remove
the plate at any time by pulling it out. You can use 1, 2 or all 3 plates
independently to fit your space (Picture ). We recommend to use all three
Step-Sensors whenever possible to maximize the benefit of convenience.
2) Install 4 D-sized batteries in Battery Compartment (Picture ) located at the
lower left corner of the back side of the trash can. Push Battery Compartment to
open and push it all the way in until lock to close.
3) Open the trash can lid and open Deodorizer Gate under the lid (Picture ).
Remove the plastic bag on the active carbon filter to active the deodorizer.
Then, put back the filter in Deodorizer Gate and lock the tab to secure.
4) Use Trash Bag Retainer Ring to secure and hide the trash bag inside the trash
can (See How does trash can retainer ring work?)
5) Turn on the power. Blue color Status Indicator LED will flash once.
6) Tap lightly on one of the Step-Sensor to open the lid and keep it open until you
remove your foot. Lid will lose in 4 seconds automatically after walk away.
7) Tap two times on Step-Sensor within 2 seconds will keep the lid open for 5
minutes allowing longer tasks. The lid will close automatically after 5 minutes or
you can close it manually by tapping once on Step-Sensor.

HOW DOES TRASH CAN RETAINER RING WORK?
1) Put garbage bag
inside the trash can
2) Lift up the retainer ring and
wrap the top of the bag over it
3) Set the retainer ring
down to secure bag

Tilt the trash can
and pull Step-
Sensor out with
downward
movement. It will
not damage the
sensor.
Lift the plastic bracket with
the trash bag out of the trash
can. Then, lift up the bag
retainer ring to release the
trash bag on the floor.
ATTENTION:
1. Do not wash the trash can with water because it is equipped with many
electronic parts and sensors. You can clean it with a stainless steel wipe or a
slightly damp cloth.
2. Clean the can body with stainless steel safe products ONLY.
3. Do not press or force the trash can lid to close manually. Lid will close
automatically.
4. To prevent damage to the electronic components from chemicals leaked from
old batteries, replace a new set of batteries immediately when the indicator light
turns to yellow/amber.
5. Avoid direct sunlight on the trash can, and ensure there is enough room to
operate the trash can without blocking the opening and closing of the lid.
6. Do not use a power adaptor that is not authorized by iTouchless, it may result in
fire, electric shock or injury.
7. Do not use power adaptor and battery (together) to operate the trash can at the
same time. It can only be powered by one way or the other.
8. Since this product opens automatically, it may not be suitable for small children
or pets.
TROUBLESHOOTING Q & A
(1) To reset the trash can, turn off power switch, remove battery or AC
power adaptor and wait 5 minutes.
(2) Move the trash can to an open area and make sure nothing is blocking
the lid or Step-Sensor Plates.
(3) Remove and re-insert Step-Sensor Plate into the trash can. Make sure
you can feel a firm click.
(4) Replace a new set of D-sized batteries with same brand and alkaline
type. After these troubleshooting steps, your trash can should be
working. If not, please contact us via www.iTouchless.com/contacts/ for
warranty service.
Problem
Solution
The LED light is not blinking
The LED light will blink only when Step-
Sensor is tap (blue color), Remain-Open
mode is engaged (green color), or when
the battery power is low (yellow/amber
color).
The lid does not open after I tap
on Step-Sensor.
Check if the batteries are inserted
correctly and the power switch is turned
on. Also check if Step-Sensor is plugged
all the way in.
The lid remains open after walk
away.
If the LED light is blinking green every
few seconds, the trash can is in Remain-
Open mode (5-minute close timer). Tap
on Step-Sensor once to close it manually.
The lid does not close all the
way.
Check if the plastic bracket of the trash
can retainer ring is properly set on the
canister.
The LED light flashes in
yellow/amber color.
The battery power is low; replace all 4
batteries with a new set of Alkaline
batteries. Do not use rechargeable
battery or mix old batteries.

Step-Sensor Touchless Trash Can is distributed by iTouchless Housewares & Products, lnc.
(iTouchless) with the highest quality components and most advanced technologies available.
The trash can is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship, given normal
use and care, for 365 days from the date of the original purchase with proof of purchase
within the United States and Canada. iTouchless will only honor warranty requests from
orders placed with our authorized dealers. Items sold as used, floor sample or refinished are
sold solely under the terms and conditions of the selling party; iTouchless will not warrant
such purchase. iTouchless will repair or replace the damaged part thereof which fails as the
result of such a defect during the warranty period.
The warranty is the customers' exclusive remedy for product defect and does not apply to:
User modification
Attachments to product by user that causes damage
Any product, on which the seals and/or serial numbers have been broken, removed,
tampered with, defaced or altered in any manner
Damage caused by abuse, misuse, accident, water or theft
Except as stated above, iTouchless makes no express or implied warranties as to any
product, in particular, makes no warranty of merchantability or of fitness for any particular
purpose. iTouchless shall not be liable for consequential or incidental damages arising from
any product defect. Our Liability is limited to the replacement of any defective product.
iTouchless expressly disclaims all warranties not satisfied in this limited warranty. Any implied
warranties that may be imposed by law are limited to the terms of this limited warranty. The
Can Body, Active Carbon Filter, Retainer Ring, 3D Filter Compartment, and Battery
Compartment are not covered by this warranty.

details, please refer to the warranty email that iTouchless will provide. The required warranty
fee is subject to location. Fee references are as following: for Contiguous 48 U.S. States
$19.95 and up, for Canada $49.95 and up, for Alaska and Hawaii $75.95 and up.
Subject to the above conditions, we will ship a working unit to you after payment has been
provided for the warranty service fee. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. However,
you may also have other rights that vary from state to state and province.
