Quick Start Guide
BATTERY INSTALLATION
•Remove the battery cover by pushing down the recess part on the door. Slide the battery door
off the radio.
•Install the rechargeable Lithium Ion (Li Ion) battery provided.
•Slide and snap the battery door into place
CHARGING THE BATTERY / RADIO
•Place the multi unit charger on aflat surface.
•Insert the plug of the power cord into the jack of the charger.
•Plug the cord into an AC outlet.
•Turn the radio off.
•Insert the radio (with battery installed) into the charging slots. LED will light up. The LED is solid
red when battery is charging and solid green when charging is complete.
•Charge the radios at least 4-6 hours prior to use.
BASIC RADIO OPERATION
•To talk, press and hold the “Push to Talk” button and speak into the microphone. Hold the radio
2-3 inches away from your mouth.
•To listen, release “Push to Talk”.
•NOTE *When using an earpiece, you must use the Push to Talk button located on the earpiece
wire, not on the radio.
SCAN FOR ACTIVE CHANNEL
•To scan for active channel, press the S/M key. The scan icon will display, and the radio will begin
to scan the channels.
•When the radio detects activity, it stops on that channel and displays the channel number.
•To talk to the person transmitting without switching channels, press the Push-to-talk button
before scan resumes.
•To stop scanning, press the “S/M” key. Push to Talk
