Installation Instructions
1. Remove seat.
2. Unplug the existing passenger headset
connection cable pigtail from the 6-pin
plastic plug located under the seat and
connect in its place, the corresponding
6-pin red plastic plug from the ‘J&M
Passenger Controller. (Figure A)
3. Reconnect the existing passenger
headset pigtail to the corresponding 6-pin
red plug on the J&M passenger controller.
4. To connect the CB PTT switch from
the controller to the GL-1800 wiring
harness, locate the open black 2-pin
female connector, normally positioned just
forward of the crossbar, under the seat.
Plug the 2-pin black connector from the
passenger controller into this plug. (the
6-pin brown plug on the controller will NOT
be used for the GL-1800 connection.
5. To connect the CB PTT switch from the
controller to the GL-1500 wiring harness,
locate the open brown 6-pin female
connector, normally positioned just forward
of the crossbar, under the seat. Plug the
6-pin brown connector from the passenger
controller into this plug. (the 2-pin black
plug on the controller will NOT be used for
the GL-1500 connection)
6. Connect the black negative lead from
the power harness of the passenger
controller to the frame on both the
GL-1800 and GL-1500.
7. Connect the red positive lead to the
positive accessory terminal behind the
left side cover on both the GL-1800 and
GL-1500.
8. Move the controller module to an area
just above right saddlebag.
9. Re-install the seat and install the
passenger controller on the right inside
grab- handle using the mounting plate and
Velcro strap provided. (Figure B)

Operation
Volume Control: To increase the helmet headset volume, rotate
the control knob clockwise and to decrease, rotate counter-
clockwise. Please note that this volume control will affect all
audio features, including the intercom. Therefore, if you rotate
the control to a very low volume you may not be able to hear the
driver over the intercom portion of the system. Additionally, this
control can only raise the helmet audio level to the maximum
level of the main system which is set by the driver.
CB Transmit Button: The CB PTT transmit button allows for
passenger initiated CB transmission, if your Gold Wing is so
equipped. Depress and hold down on the PTT button for the
duration of the CB transmission.
Passenger Microphone Interrupt Switch: Depress this switch to
the forward (ON) position to activate the passenger’s microphone
and to the rear (OFF) position to turn off the passenger’s headset
microphone.
NOTE: It is not necessary to return the passenger microphone
interrupt switch to the ON position before you transmit on the CB.
The passenger CB transmit button will initiate CB transmission
with the passenger microphone interrupt switch in either the ON
or OFF position.
