
Installation Instructions
1. Remove seat.
2. Unplug the existing passenger headset
connection cable pigtail from the 6-pin
plastic plug located under the seat and
connect in its place, the corresponding
6-pin red plastic plug from the ‘J&M
Passenger Controller. (Figure A)
3. Reconnect the existing passenger
headset pigtail to the corresponding 6-pin
red plug on the J&M passenger controller.
4. To connect the CB PTT switch from
the controller to the GL-1800 wiring
harness, locate the open black 2-pin
female connector, normally positioned just
forward of the crossbar, under the seat.
Plug the 2-pin black connector from the
passenger controller into this plug. (the
6-pin brown plug on the controller will NOT
be used for the GL-1800 connection.
5. To connect the CB PTT switch from the
controller to the GL-1500 wiring harness,
locate the open brown 6-pin female
connector, normally positioned just forward
of the crossbar, under the seat. Plug the
6-pin brown connector from the passenger
controller into this plug. (the 2-pin black
plug on the controller will NOT be used for
the GL-1500 connection)
6. Connect the black negative lead from
the power harness of the passenger
controller to the frame on both the
GL-1800 and GL-1500.
7. Connect the red positive lead to the
positive accessory terminal behind the
left side cover on both the GL-1800 and
GL-1500.
8. Move the controller module to an area
just above right saddlebag.
9. Re-install the seat and install the
passenger controller on the right inside
grab- handle using the mounting plate and
Velcro strap provided. (Figure B)
