Mechanical Adjustment
1. Presser Bar Height
Thedistancebetweenthebottomofthepresserfoot
inuppositionandtheneedleplateshouldbe4.7to
5.3 mm.
z Removethefacecover(seepage1).
x Raisethepresserfootandloosenthehexagonal
socket screw q.
Place a block 5 mm wthickunderthepresserfoot
andlowerthepresserfootliftere.
c Tightenthehexagonalsocketscrewqrmly.
NOTE:
Makesurethatthepresserfootshouldbeparallelto
thefeeddogslotsrintheneedleplateandshouldnot
interferewiththeneedles.
v Attachthelampsetplate,frontcoverandfaceplate.

z Removethefacecoverandtopcover(seepages
1to2).
x ReplacetheleftneedlewithSchmetzELx705,size
80/12needleq.
c Turnthehandwheeltowardyoutoraisetheneedle
bartothehighestposition.
v Lowertheneedlethreaderleverwtoalignthe
needlethreadershaftholeewiththehexagonal
socket screw r.
b Loosenthehexagonalsocketscrewrandmove
theneedlebartupordowntoadjustthedistance
at 8.0 mm.
NOTE:
Besurenottorotatetheneedlebarwhenadjustingthe
needlebarheight.
n Attachthetopcoverandfacecover.

Turnthehandwheeltowardyoutoraisethefeeddogto
itshighestposition.
Whenthepresserfootislowered,themaximumheight
ofthefeeddogshouldbe0.9to1.1mmabovethe
needleplate.
z Setthestitchlengthdialat3anddifferentialfeeddial
at
1.0.
x Lowerthepresserfootandturnthehandwheel
towardyoutoraisethefeeddogtoitshighest
position.
c Opentheloopercover.
Pullthelooperreleaseknob qandturnthelooper
theright.
Loosenthesetscrewsw(4pcs.).
v Movethemainfeeddogeandsubfeeddogrup
ordowntosettheheightat1.0mm.
b Tightenthesetscrewsw(4pcs.)rmly.
Closetheloopercover.

Theheightofthetipoftheloopershouldbe73.1to
73.5 mm.
z Removethefreearmcover(seepage4)andthe
needleplate.
x Replacetherightneedlewiththeshorttestpin
(28.3mmlong)q.
c Turnthehandwheeltowardyoutobringthelooperw
toitsrightmostposition.
vPullthelooperreleaseknob eandturnthelooperto
the left.
Loosenthesetscrewrandmovethelooperupor
downtomatchitspointtwiththetipyof the test
pin.
b Tightenthesetscrewrrmly.
n Replacethetestpinwitharegularneedle.

Use a stem roftheregularneedletocheckifthereisa
propergapbetweenthetipofthelooperandtestpin.
n Tightenthesetscrewermly.
m Replacethetestpinwitharegularneedle.
Attachthefreearmcoverandneedleplate.

v Loosenthehexagonalsocketscrewse(2pcs.)and
turnthelooperrockingcamrtomatchthelooper
pointwiththetipofthetestpin.
Iftheloopertimingistoolatet,turnthelooper
rockingcamrclockwise.
Iftheloopertimingistooearlyy,turnthelooper
rockingcamrcounterclockwise.
