Disposing of the Microscope and It’s Baeries
◆Discard this Microscope in accordance with applicable laws and
regulaons. For further informaon, contact your government.
◆Some models contains rechargeable baeries. Aer repeated use, the
baeries will nally lose their ability to hold a charge and you will need to
replace them. Under certain applicable laws and regulaon, it may be
illegal to dispose of old baeries by replacing them in the trash.
◆Please be kind to our shared environment. Check with your local
government authority for details regarding where to recycle old baeries
or how to dispose of them properly.

Wireless Devices and your Health
Wireless Products, like other radio devices, emit radio frequency
electromagnec energy. The level of energy emied by Wireless products
however is far much less than the electromagnec energy emied by wire
device like for example mobile phones.

This microscope is a scienc precision instrument designed to last for many
years with a minimum of maintenance. It is built to high opcal and
mechanical standards and to withstand daily classroom and laboratory use.
JC LAB reminds you that this manual contains important informaon on safety
and maintenance, and that it must therefore be made accessible to the
instrument users. JC LAB declines any responsibility deriving from instrument
use that does not comply with this manual.

4.1 The microscope is housed in a moulded Styrofoam container. Remove
the tape from the edge of the container and li the top half of the container.
Take some care to avoid that the opcal items (objecves and eyepieces) fall
out and get damaged. Li the microscope from the container and put it on a
stable desk.
4.2 The objecves are assembled on the microscope. If removed the
objecves from the microscope then insert them into the microscope
nosepiece in the order from the lowest magnicaon to the highest, in a
clockwise direcon from the rear.
Do not touch with bare hands opcal surfaces such as lenses, lters or
glasses. Traces of grease or other residuals may deteriorate the nal
image quality and corrode the opcs surface in a short me.

6.0 Using the Microscope
6.1 Turn the observaon head to a comfortable posion for observaon
6.2 Ensure that the specimen is centred over the stage opening. Lock the
specimen slide on the aachable mechanical stage using the two slide clamp
6.3 Insert the plug of the cable into the power socket on the back of the
microscope to charge it and turn the switch to the charge
mode (on the right side of the main body).
6.4 Rotate the coarse focusing knob to bring the slide into
focus with the 4X objecve. Adjust the ne focusing knob to get the image
sharp and clear.
6.5 Adjust the aperture of the iris diaphragm to set the numerical aperture of
the illuminator, thus controlling image contrast and resoluon.
6.6 Turn the nosepiece to choose the objecve you need.

7.0 Maintenance
7.1 Always think about
- The following environment is required: Indoor temperature: 0-40°C,
Maximum relave humidity: 85 % (not condensing)
- Keep the microscope away from dust and shocks while in use.
- Turn o the light immediately aer use.
- Use a so lens ssue to clean the opcs aer use.
- Only if needed, use a cloth moistened with water and a mild detergent,
rinsing with water and drying immediately with a lint-free cloth.
- Aer use, cover the microscope with the included dust-cover, and keep it
in a dry and clean place.
7.2 Do not!
-Wipe the surface of any opcal items with your hands. Fingerprints can
damage the opcs.
- Use solvents, neither on the microscope, nor on the opcs.
- Disassemble objecve or eyepieces to aempt to clean them.
- Mishandle or impose unnecessary force on the microscope.
- Clean the unit with volale solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Aempt to service the microscope yourself.
7.3 How to change the lamp
Before changing the lamp, you must switch it o, pull the plug out of the
electrical socket. To avoid being burnt, wait unl the lamp has cooled down.
Unscrew the condensing lens above the lamp. Then remove the old lamp and
replace it with a new one. Replace the condensing lens

9.0 Recycling and Recovery
Art.13 Dlsg 25 july 005 N°151. “According to direcves 2002/95/EC, 2002/96/
EC and 2003/108/EC relang to the reducon in the use of hazardous
substances in electrical and electronic equipment and waste disposal.”
The basket symbol on equipment or on its box indicates that the
product at the end of its useful life should be collected separately from
other waste. The separate collecon of this equipment at the end of its
lifeme is organized and managed by the producer. The user will have to
contact the manufacturer and follow the rules that he adopted for end-
of-life equipment collecon. The collecon of the equipment for
recycling, treatment and environmentally compable disposal, helps to
prevent possible adverse eects on the environment and health and
promotes reuse and/or recycling of materials of the equipment. Improper
disposal of the product involves the applicaon of administrave
penales as provided by the laws in force.
