This applianceis designedfor use with the appliancegas pressure
regulatorsuppliedwiththis appliance.It mustbeinstalledinthe gasway
aheadofthegasmanifoldentrance.Itispresetforusewithnaturalgasand
mustbeconverted,asdescribedon pages6&7,forusewith LPgas.(See
figures8 and9).
This applianceis designedto operateat a pressureof 5 inchesofwater
columnon naturalgasor, if convertedfor usewith LPgas (propaneor
butane),10incheswatercolumn.Makesurethisapplianceissuppliedwith
andadjustedforthetype ofgasforwhich itisdesigned.
Thisappliancewasadjustedatthefactoryforusewithnaturalgas.If,atany
time,this applianceis to be usedwith a differenttype of gas, all ofthe
conversionadjustmentsdescribedon pages6 and7 mustbe madebya
qualifiedservicetechnicianbeforeattemptingto operatethe cooktopon
thatgas.Naturalgasshouldbesuppliedtotheappliancepressureregulator
atalinepressurebetween6 and14inchesofwatercolumnor,ifconverted
for LPgas,between11and 14inches.
WARNING
Ifthelinepressuresupplyingtheappliancepressureregulatorexceeds
14" W.C. (anygas),anexternalregulatormustbeinstalledin thegas
lineaheadoftheapplianceregulatortoreducethepressureto nomore
than 14"W.C,Failuretodothis canresultin malfunctionanddamage
to theappliance.
Insurethisapplianceisadjustedforthetypeof gassuppliedto itandthat
the gas supplypressureto the applianceregulatoris within the proper
pressurerange.
Do not removeprotectivecapfrom pipestub at manifoldentranceuntil

Join theappliancepressureregulatorsuppliedwith this applianceto the
entrancethreadsoftheGasManifold.Theapplianceregulatorismarked
with a directionalarrowindicatingcorrectdirectionof gasflow.Ensurethe
applianceregulatoris installedwith the arrowpointingtoward the gas
manifoldentrance.Tightenthe applianceregulatorto 20 to 30 ft-tbs of
torque.
IMPORTANT
Nevertightento morethan35ft-tbsoftorque.Alwaysuseanapproved
pipejointcompoundresistantto theactionof LPgas.
Installtheappliancein itscountercutout.
Makethe gasconnectionto the inletof the appliancepressureregulator
with 1/2"malepipethreads.
Installa manualshut-offvalve in an accessiblelocationin the gasline
aheadoftheappliancepressureregulatorandexternaltothisappliancefor
the purposeofturningonor shuttingoff gastotheappliance.
Makeadditionalpipeconnectionsasnecessaryaheadoftheshut-offvalve
to thegassupplysource.Assureall pipejointconnectionsaregastight.
IMPORTANT
Applya non-corrosiveleakdetectionfluidto alljointsandfittingsinthe
gasconnectionbetweenthesupplylineshut-offvalveandthe range.
Includegasfittingsandjointsintherangeifconnectionsweredisturbed
duringinstallation.Checkforleaks!Bubblesappearingaroundfittings
andconnectionswillindicatea leak.If a leakappears,turnoffsupply
linegasshut-offvalve,tightenconnections,turnonthesupplylinegas
shutoffvalve,andretestforleaks.Nevertestforgasleakswithanopen
flame.

PRESSURETESTING
The appliancemustbe isolatedfrom the gas supplypiping systemby
closingits individualmanualshut-offvalveduringanypressuretestingof
the gassupplypipingsystemattest pressuresequalto or lessthan1/2
PSIG(3.5kPa).
This appliance, as well as its individual shut-off valve, must be
disconnectedfrom the gas supply piping systemduring any pressure
testingofthesystemattestpressuresinexcessof1/2PSIG(3.5kPa).
When checkingapplianceregulatorfunction, make certainpressureof
naturalgas supply is between6 and 14 inchesof water columnor, if
convertedfor LPgas,between11and 14inches.

Gas leaks may occur in your systemand result in a dangerous
situation.Gasleaksmaynotbedetectedbysmellalone.Gassuppliers
recommendyou purchaseand installan UL approvedgasdetector.

Step4: Firmlypressthe nutdriverovertheorificespud(figure7)and
loosenspud by turningcounterclockwise.Carefully lift nut
driveroutofburnerthroat.Orificespudshouldbecapturedin
therecess.Repeatthisstepforeachburner.

Step8: Replacecylindricalaluminumventuritubes. Replaceburner
headsandgrates.Indexeachgratetoits burnerpan.

eachendofburnerbox(seefigure15).Thetopofeachbracketshouldhook

Tightenthe bolt in eachbracketto snugthe unittop downagainstthe

cannotbe easily removedtuckthe folds of a clothdishtowelunderand
aroundtheknobandpullthetowelupwardwith steadyevenpressure.

This appliance has no air shutters. Primary air adjustments are
unnecessary.Theburnersaredesignedtoprovideoptimumaerationforall
gases without air shutters.When operatingproperly,burners should

arehazyandotherwiseappearto haveinsufficientair,obtaintheservices
ofa qualifiedservicetechnician.
