Self-Clean Oven
CAUTION
• Itisnormalforpartsoftheoventobecomehotduringa
self-cleancycle.
• Topreventdamagetoovendoor,do not attempttoopen
thedoorwhenLOCKisdisplayed.
• Avoidtouchingdoor,windoworovenventareaduringa
cleancycle.
•Do not usecommercialovencleanersontheovenfinish
oraroundanypartoftheoven. Theywilldamagethe
finishorparts.
Theself-cleancycleusesabove-normalcookingtemperatures
toautomaticallycleantheoveninterior.
Itisnormalforflare-ups,smoking,orflamingtooccurduring
cleaningiftheovenisheavilysoiled. Itisbettertoclean
theovenregularlyratherthantowaituntilthereisaheavy
build-upofsoilintheoven.
Duringthecleaningprocess,thekitchenshouldbewell
ventilatedtogetridofnormalodorsassociatedwithcleaning.
Before Self-Cleaning
1. Turnofftheovenlightbefore cleaning. The oven light may
burnoutduringthecleancycle.
2. Removebroilerpan,allpans,andovenracksfromthe
oven. Theovenrackswilldiscolorandmaynotslide
easilyafteraself-cleancycleiftheyarenotremoved.
Important: Removetheairgrillefromthecookingsurface
before self-cleaning.
3. Cleanovenframe,doorframe,areaoutsideofgasket,and
aroundtheopeninginthedoorgasketwithanonabrasive
cleanersuchasBonAmi*ordetergentandwater. The
self-cleaningprocessdoesnotcleantheseareas. They
shouldbecleanedtopreventsoilfrombakingonduring
thecleancycle. (Thegasketisthesealaroundtheoven
doorandwindow.)
4. Topreventdamage,do not clean
orrubthegasketaroundtheoven
door. Thegasketisdesignedto
sealinheatduringthecleancycle.
5. Wipeupexcessgreaseor
spill-oversfromtheovenbottom.
Thispreventsexcessivesmoking,
flare-upsorflamingduringthecleancycle.
6. Wipeupsugaryandacidicspilloverssuchassweet
potatoes,tomato,ormilk-basedsauces.Porcelainenamel
isacid-resistant,notacid-proof. Theporcelainfinishmay

1. PressClean pad.
2. REMOVERACKSwillbedisplayed. Removetheracks.
3. SelectCONTINUE usingtheQuicksetpad.TheQuickset
padsarelocatedoneithersideofthecontrolpanel
display.
4. SetLIGHT soillevelbyentering200usingthenumber
padsfortwohoursofcleaningtime.SelectMEDIUM soil
levelusingtheQuicksetpads.

SelectHEAVY for a heavily soiled oven and four hours of
cleaningtime.
5. CLEAN,TIME,LOCKEDandthecleaningtimecountdown
willbedisplayedwhiletheoveniscleaning.OVEN
COOLINGwillappearinthedisplaywhenthecleaning
timehasbeencompletedandtheovenisstilllocked.
Important: Thedoorlockwilldisengageapproximatelyone
hourafterthecleaningtimeiscompleted.OVENCOOLING
willgooffinthedisplaywhentheovendoorhasunlocked.
To Delay a Self-Clean Cycle:
1. PressClean pad.
2. REMOVERACKSwillbedisplayed.
Removetheracks.
3. SelectCONTINUE using the Quickset pad.
4. SetLIGHT soillevelbyentering200usingthenumber
padsfortwohoursofcleaningtime.SelectMEDIUM soil
levelusingtheQuicksetpads.
