INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your new KooBrick WiFi
KooBrick WiFi is a Dual Band network router that provides access to a 300Mbps high-speed
wireless network in both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz ranges. KooBrick WiFi supports all current
wireless network cards, and uses the less crowded wireless network in the 5GHz band.
KooBrick WiFi lets you easily and securely share your internet connection with your entire
family, either wirelessly or through a network cable. Powerful hardware facilitates online
gaming, online surfing and the streaming of music or videos. You can also wirelessly transfer
HD films to your television.
The wireless networks are password protected and have a basic configuration that is
adapted to modern broadband connections, making it easy to start using KooBrick WiFi.

Minimum Requirements
-Network card or wireless network card in each computer or other unit
-Computer with Windows XP or later, Macintosh or Linux operative systems
-Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, Opera 6.0 or later, Firefox 1.5 or later, Safari 4.0 or later, or
other compatible browser.

Understand your KooBrick WiFi
KooBrick WiFi has two indication and functionality buttons.
1. Combined indication/functionality button on the front
2. Multi-functionality button the back
The front button has an integrated LED lamp that shows the status of your KooBrick WiFi when you
are using the buttons on the front or back of the router.

WLAN/Reset

Wireless networks and security
The whole family can now be online at the same time and anywhere in the home. Your
wireless KooBrick WiFi is supplied fully secured, configured and ready to use. You only need
to connect it to your broadband modem and then connect your computer using the
password included.
You can quickly and simply connect to the internet with your PC without using network
cables.

The capacity/range of your KooBrick WiFi may be compromised if the signals must pass
walls, doors or floors of concrete, steel or aluminium.
The capacity may also be restricted by network traffic on other wireless
networks/equipment in the same area.

The wireless network name and security key for your router is on the sticker on the bottom
of the router.
Connecting your KooBrick WiFi
1. Connect the included power adapter to the KooBrick WiFi and insert the other end in
an outlet.
2. Connect a network cable from the broadband/cable modem to the blue WAN port on
the router
3. If you are using a wireless connection to the router, follow the instructions in the next
section:
“Wireless connection of computer to KooBrick WiFi”.
Otherwise, you must use a network cable from the network card in your computer to
one of the yellow LAN ports on your router.

Wireless connection of computer to KooBrick WiFi
Windows 7/Vista
1. Click on the wireless network
icon bottom right on the task
bar.
2. You will see a list of the
available wireless networks in
your area.
Choose KooBrick WiFi on the
list and click Connect.
3. The wireless network is
protected with a WPA2
encryption, and you must
therefore enter the security
key you find on the sticker on
the bottom of the router.
Enter the security key and click
OK.

4. It can take 20 –30 seconds for
your connection to be ready.
Confirm your selection of the
correct network for your home
by clicking the box marked:
Home network
5. Click Close to confirm that the
setup is complete.
6. You are now connected to the
wireless network, and the icon
in the bottom right corner will
be white.
7. Click on the icon to see the
connection status.

Windows XP
1. Right click on the wireless
network icon (see arrow) and
choose "Show available
wireless networks"
2. Select KooBrick WiFi from the
list, as shown on the right, and
click "Connect"
3. Enter your KooBrick WiFi code
and click OK.
4. When the connection is set up,
it will look like this.

Mac OS X
1. Open AirPort as shown on the
right. Choose KooBrick WiFi
from the list by clicking on its
name.
2. Enter your KooBrick WiFi code
and click OK.

KooBrick WiFi Setup
KooBrick WiFi is set up so that you can access the internet without further configuring the
router.
However, in some cases it will be necessary to configure your KooBrick WiFi using the
settings required by your internet provider.
Before following the instructions in this section, you should check whether you have
connected a network cable from the WAN/internet port on your KooBrick WiFi to the correct
port on your broadband modem. This connection is described in the section on "Connecting
your KooBrick WiFi".
If you do not know which port on the broadband modem to use, you must contact your
internet provider.
Make sure that your computer is connected to your KooBrick WiFi, either wirelessly or via a
network cable. Also see the section on "Connecting your computer" in these instructions.
You can easily check whether your KooBrick WiFi has an internet connection by pressing the
button on the front.
-If this button lights up in blue, your router has internet access.
-If this button lights up in red, your router does not have internet access.
Follow the instructions below to configure your KooBrick WiFi.
1. Open your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Safari) and type in http://wifi.koobrick in
the address bar to get access to the KooBrick WiFi menu.
2. The KooBrick WiFi login page will be shown, and you must enter your username and
password.
a. Standard username: admin
b. Standard password: 1234
If you have changed the username and/or password for your KooBrick WiFi, you
must use this/these.

3. Start your KooBrick WiFi Setup by clicking on your preferred language and following
the instructions on the screen.
a. The instructions will guide you through the setup of the KooBrick WiFi that is
appropriate for your internet connection.
4. Using the instructions, you can change:
- Username and login for KooBrick WiFi
- Network name
- Password for wireless network
Remember! If you change the network name and/or password, you must connect your
computer to the new wireless network in order to access the internet and the Koobrick
WiFi menu.

5. Once the setup is complete, you will be provided with a summary of your settings.
6. Click "Save" to start using the new settings.
Make note of the settings so that you have them available if you need them later!
Activating and using WPS (WiFi Protected Setup)
WPS is a standard for a simple and secure connection to a wireless network. This functionality can be
used by pressing a button on your router and on the unit that is to be connected.
Some wireless devices, such as speakers or printers, require that WPS be activated before they
connect to the wireless network.
KooBrick WiFi supports WPS. However, this functionality is deactivated in the factory setting, and
must therefore be reactivated before it can be used.
Activate WPS support in KooBrick WiFi
This is how you activate the WPS function in your KooBrick WiFi:

1. Open your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Safari) and write http://wifi.koobrick in
the address bar in order to gain access to the KooBrick WiFi menu (Admin Panel).
2. The KooBrick WiFi login page will be shown, and you must enter your username and
password.
a. Standard username: admin
b. Standard password: 1234
If you have changed the username and/or password for your KooBrick WiFi, you
must use this/these.

3. Click Admin Panel to open the WiFi menu.
4. Open the KooBrick WiFi Admin Panel.
a. Click SETTINGS & TOOLS to open the menu.
5. Click Advanced Settings either in the menu on the left or in the overview in the
middle.
a. Choose the wireless network for which you want to active the WPS function;
either 2.4GHz Wireless or 5GHz Wireless.
If you are unsure which wireless network your WPS device uses, contact the

supplier of the device.
7. Choose WPS from the submenu
8. Click on the box next to Enable WPS to active the WPS function.
9. WPS has now been activated for the wireless network you chose.
If you wish to activate WPS for KooBrick WiFi's 5GHz network, repeat steps 5-8.


Access to a USB storage device for Windows (Windows 7 and Vista):
1. Open Computer and click on Networks.
KooBrick WiFi will be available under the Computer and Media Devices categories.
3. By double-clicking on KOOBRICK_WIFI under the Computer category, you can explore
the contents of the USB device and copy files to or from it.
4. By clicking on KooBrick_WiFi;1 in the Media Devices category, a standard media
player is opened, such as Windows Media Player or iTunes. You can now play or show
the contents of the USB device, for example music, films or pictures.
Please note that the data transfer speed may vary depending on the network.

Access to USB storage device –Apple computers:
1. Open the Finder on your Apple computer.
KooBrick_WiFi is accessible in the SHARED category.
2. By clicking on KooBrick_WiFi, you can explore the contents of the USB device and
copy files to and from it.
3. You can access music files or other media files from the USB device by opening, for
example, iTunes.
In iTunes, your KooBrick_WiFi will be visible in the SHARED category.
Clicking on KooBrick_WiFi shows the contents of the media files in iTUNES and you
can, for example, play music stored on the USB device.
Please note that the data transfer speed may vary depending on the network.
Assigning a static IP address to a network device
To configure your internet access, FTP and WEB server access or to open ports for online gaming, it is
often necessary for a computer or game console to be assigned a static IP address.
The KooBrick WiFi LAN menu allows you to assign a static IP address (Static DHCP Lease) to a network
device, computer, game console or network storage device.
