MORE HELPFUL INFORMATION
About Fixed-Level Outputs
A fixed-level, or line-level audio output is considered ideal since it
provides an audio signal unchanged by adjustments to the audio
source’s (stereo, etc.) volume control.
Hint: Fixed-level audio outputs from stereo receivers/amps will
typically be designated as Tape, Tape 1, and Tape 2 outputs, DAT
(digital audio tape) outputs, VCR audio output connections, and
auxiliary audio outputs. Tape, Tape 1, Tape 2 and DAT outputs are
usually marked as ‘TAPE OUTPUT,’TAPE OUT,’TAPE REC,’or ‘TAPE
RECORD’Jacks.
Note: Many PC soundcards have a "Line Out" that is a fixed-level
output. The fixed-level output of the soundcard may not be strong
enough for optimal signal strength. Please refer to ABOUT
VARIABLE-LEVEL OUTPUTS.
About Variable-Level Outputs
A variable-level output, such as a headphone jack or certain
television RCA-type outputs, provides an audio signal to the
transmitter that changes in relation to volume adjustments on
the audio source. As the volume of the audio source goes up
and down, so does the strength of the audio signal sent to the
transmitter. This can affect the quality of sound you hear from the
speakers. A weak signal may require increasing the volume level
of the audio source to achieve a strong enough audio signal for
use with the JW250 system. A strong signal may require
decreasing the audio source’s volume.

TROUBLESHOOTING
The following troubleshooting guide outlines possible
problems and solutions associated with the
installation/operation of a wireless system. If problems
persist, please call 1-800-732-6866 and a knowledgeable
consumer service representative will assist you.
Problem Solution
No Sound •Check that the outlet the transmitter is
plugged into is providing power.
•Check that the AC Adapter is fully inserted
into the wall outlet, and that the power cord
from the AC adapter is firmly connected to the
Power Input Jack on the transmitter.
•Check that the Speakers are turned "ON."
•If using batteries: Check that the batteries
are firmly seated following polarity as shown
in the battery compartment.
•If using the AC adapters: Check that the out-
let the speakers are plugged into is providing
power.
•Check that the AC Adapters are fully inserted
into the wall outlet and that the power cords
from the AC adapters are firmly connected to
the Power Input Jack on the speakers.
•Check that the audio source is turned on and
providing sound as it normally would.

TROUBLESHOOTING CONT'D
•Check that the home stereo volume is
turned up.
•If you are using a Tape 2 Monitor output from
your receiver/amp as the audio output, check
that the Tape 2 Monitor button is selected on
the front of the receiver. This will turn on the
Tape 2 outputs.
Problem Solution
No Sound/ •Check that the receiver Tuning Indicator is
Distortion/ illuminated. If not, check the power supply or
Static batteries. If so, adjust the Tuning Control until
the green indicator light comes on.
•Check the batteries –they may be
weakening.
•Confirm the batteries are "good." When
batteries begin to weaken there can be static
breakup. If necessary, replace the batteries.
•Check that the antenna is in the upright
position.
•Check that the transmitter Audio Level
Indicator is flickering intermittently.
If using a fixed output and the light is on solid, flickering
very rapidly, or if the light is not on at all, adjust the Input
Level Control so the light flickers intermittently.
TROUBLESHOOTING CONT'D
If you are using a variable output, make sure the Output Level
Control is all the way left (as shown under ADJUST THE TRANS-
MITTER), and adjust the volume on the audio source up or down
as necessary to make the light flicker intermittently.
•Change the position of the transmitter’s Channel
Select Switch to change operating frequency.
Then readjust the speaker’s Tuning Control until
the Tuning Indicator Light turns green.
•Try changing the physical location of the
transmitter. Locate as high and free of obstruction
as possible. Avoid placing directly on top of a PC
(or other electronic equipment).
•Try changing the antenna position, particularly if
you think you may be near maximum transmitting
range.
•Try moving the transmitter and speakers closer
together. Sending the signal through certain
materials, such as glass, tile, and metal can
decrease the effective transmitting distance
of the system.
Sound •Check left/right balance control on your audio
From One source. Make sure that it is centered between the
Speaker left and right speakers.
Only
•Try fine-tuning the speakers at different transmitter
frequency control settings.
•Check the batteries –they may be weakening.
SETTING THE SPEAKERS
Setting the Speakers for Stereo/Monaural Operation
For stereo operation, set the Left/Mono/Right Switch (D) to
"Left" on one speaker and "Right" for the other speaker. For
monaural operation at each speaker, set the Left/Mono/Right
Switch (D) to "Mono" on each speaker.
Note: If you use one speaker at one location and the other
speaker at another location (i.e., two different rooms),
JENSEN®recommends the "Mono" setting for best sound
reproduction.
MORE FINE-TUNING
If, after fine-tuning, interference in the form of static and/or
"drop-outs" can be heard, adjust Channel Select Switch (K) to
the other channel and re-tune the speakers. If you are
unable to achieve clear sound, please refer to
TROUBLESHOOTING on page 12.
