Congratulations! You have just purchased an excellent grain chopper JF 5D-10D, easy to operate
andmaintain.
Besidesgrainchopper,thismachinecanbeconfiguredtoworkasforagechopper.

This Manual supplies the instructions for correct operation, preventive maintenance and

2.1- While Reading the Manual

2.2- When operating the machine
1- The JF 5D - 10D is designed exclusively to
desintegrategrainsandchopforage.
2- When supply the machine, never introduct the hands
intothefeedingchute(1).
3-Inordertoobtainthemaximumefficiencyandqualityof
chopped or designed material, maintain a constant and
uniformfeeding.
4- To more security fasten the machine on a even and
rigidsurface.

5-Never usethe machineto choptree branchsor another
rigidmaterial.
6- Never attempt to adjust or repair components with the
machinerunning.
7- Do not leave the machine in a place that can be
operatedbychildrenornotqualifypeople.

8- The cover belt is not included with the machine when it leaves the factory without a motor
coupled,but itsuse isMANDATORY assafety NR12 (Item12.38. Dangerareas of themachineries
andequipmentsmusthavesafetysystems,characterizedbyfixedcovers,mobilecoversandsafety
devices interconnected to ensure health protection and physical integrity of workers) and NR31
(Item 31.12.12 the rural employer or similar are responsible to maintain the security systems in
perfect condition and operation, which the total or partial withdrawal or neutralization of these
systemswhichendangerthephysicalintegrityofworkersconsideredseriousandimminentrisk).
2.3- When making maintenance in the machine
1-Machinemustbeturnedoffforanytypeofmaintenance.
2-Observethespecificationandamountoflubricanttobeusedonthemachine
2.4- Transport on truck
Whenever you have to transport the machine for longer distances, when there is need for using
publicroads,thetransportmustbedoneontruckortrailler.
Tomoresafety,themachinemustbefixedwithropeonthetruck.

3.2- Operation
The JF 5D - 10D Mill machine is a simple, strong and
versatile machine, designed to help you on daily animal
feed.
Themachineofferstwooperationtypes:
A-Cerealsmill:corn,sorghum,soybeanetc.
For this function, use the grain chopper (1), lower outlet
(2)andoneof4sives(3).Thecerealsmillingisperformed
byhammers(4),thatrotateinhighspeed.
B- Plants chopper for forage such as corn, grass
(elephantgrass,napieretc)andsugarcane.
For this usage, to use the feeding nozzle (5), upper outlet
(6) and sealing rubber (7). The gring action occurs by the
knives(8)andcounterknife(9).

4- Assembling prior operation
4.1- Assembly of the detached parts
Thepartsfollowingmentionedaredelivereddisassembled.Assembleitaccordingnextstep:
Feedingnozzle(1)
Assemble the feeding nozzle (1) according the picture
aside,fasteningitwiththreebolts(1a).
Grainhopper(2)
Install the grain chopper (2) into feeding nozzle (1) and
pushittofitcorrectly,accordingthepictureaside.
Protectionscreen(3)
Hangthescreen(3)onchute(1)accordingpictureaside.
Flowcontrolplatetodesintegratedproduct(4)
Installtheplate(4)accordingpictureasideandpushitfully.

Rackassembling(5)
a) Assemble both of sliding rails (5) with the bolts +
washers+nuts(5g),justasillustratedaside.
b) Insert the locking pin (5a) in the hole (5j) according
illustrated.
c)Assemblethetighteninglever(5b)accordingillustrated
aside,fasteningitwiththeboltandnuts(5c).
d)Pulley(5e)andbelts(5f)willbedescribedfollowing.

4.2- Assembling the machine on the support
Install the machine on the other side of the support (5) according image aside and fasten it with the
supportfeet,usingthebolts+washers+nuts(5i).

4.3- Assembling the motor on the support
IMPORTANT: Check the necessary power of the JF 5D or
JF 10D on the page 10. There you can find the ideal
working speed to each machine model, and the motor
pulleydiameter(5d)andthemachine(6).
Procedure:
a) Assemble the pulley (5d) which follow the machine,
fasteningitwiththekey.
IMPORTANT:Seeonpage21aboutdifferentspeedsetup
accordingpulleydiameters.

b)Installthemotorcentralizedontherails(5h)andfasten
it with the four bolts + washers + nuts (5f), according
pictureaside.
c) Make the alignment between the motor pulleys (5d)
andthemachine(6),accordinginstructionsonpage30.
d) Install both of the belts (7) according illustrated and
adjustthetighteningaccordinginstructionsonpage31.
ATTENTION: Items 5d and 7 only accompany the
machinesthatleavesthefactorywiththemotor.
a) Attach the first part of the belt cover (1) as figure
beside.
b)Placethepulley(2)ofthemachine.
WARNING: The cover belt is not included
with the machine when it leaves the
factory without a motor coupled.
You can purchase the standard
safeguardsprovidedbyJF.
The use of the equipment without the
required cover belt or guards is
prohibited, according to the page 7
indications.
4.4- Cyclone assembly (optional item)
Ifyouprefertoinstallthecycloneassemble,installitaccordinginstructionsbelow:

c)Placethepulley(3)oftheengine.

e)Attachthe cover of the fanhousing (4) and the cyclone
fan(5).

h) Fit the curve of the cyclone (8) and place the cyclone

4.5- Machine levelling and positioning
The machine must be installed on even, leveled as
rigidgroundtoagoodperformance.
To end the job, fit the four dumper rubbers (9) under the
support(5),onthepointsindicatedonpicture.

5- Operation adjustments
5.1- To operate the JF5D - 10D as grain chopper
a)Loosenlatch(1)andraisethecover(2).
b)Removethecountercover(3).
c)Select oneof thesieves (4, 5,6 or7), accordingdesired
product chips size and install it under the impeller
accordingpictureaside.
NOTE. See dimensions and application of sieves on table
onthenext.
d)Removethecountercover(3).
e)Closecover(2),risingandtightenlatch (1).
f)Pushtheplate(8)completelyin.

g) Regulate the amount of grains (flow) that leave the
choppertowardstheimpeller.
To do it, loosen the wing nut (9) and push the doser (10)
upward on downward, according desired. Then, retighten
thenut(9). 9

Note:
The grain flow must be adjusted according the
applied motor power, sieve holes diameter
andproducttype.
h) Install a bag or other recipient to collect the material
whichflowoutfromtheinferioroutlet(11).

5.2- Para usar o JF 5D - 10D como forrageira
a)Loosenlatch(1)andraisethecover(2).
b)Removethecountercover(3).
c) Install lower sealing (12) under mill rotor, according
picturebelow.
IMPORTANT: Maintain bent plate (3) out, leaving upper
outletopen.
d)Closecover(2),risingandtightenlatch(1).
e)Adjusttheheightanddistanceoftheforagejet.
f) To do it, loosen the wing nut (4) and push the deflector
(5) upward on downward, according desired. Then,
retightennuts(4).
As more raised is the deflector, more distant will be throw
theforageandviceversa.

See on page 10 the speed ratio to operate the JF 2D. To have diferent speeds in this zone. Its
necessarychangethepulleyscombination,thatis,usediferentsdiameters.
The formulas below will hep you to discover which diameter is better to each pulley, according the
desiredspeed.
