Thank you for choosing a JL Audio Stealthbox® for your automotive sound system.
With proper installation, your new vehicle-specific enclosed subwoofer system
will deliver years of listening pleasure.
We strongly recommend that you have your new Stealthbox® installed by your authorized
JL Audio dealer. The installation professionals employed by your dealer have the necessary tools
and experience to disassemble and reassemble your vehicle properly. If you prefer to perform your
own installation, please read this installation guide completely before beginning the process.
If you choose to perform the installation yourself, it is absolutely vital that
the Stealthbox®be properly mounted to the vehicle according to these
instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure properly presents two problems:
1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the enclosure
caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s).
2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a collision
or sudden deceleration.

POWER RECOMMENDATION
JL Audio recommends high quality ampliers such as the JL Audio XD300/1. The diagram below shows the recommended crossover settings for the XD300/1. For a detailed description of the amplier settings, consult the
owner’s manual for the amplier. If another amplier is being used, please reference this illustration and use similar settings on that amplier.
CONNECTIONS
Using quality power, signal, and speaker wire is essential in ensuring the performance of your Stealthbox®. JL Audio recommends using a 4 AWG power kit such as the XD-PCS4-1B for your Stealthbox® amplier. Other kits
are available should you be using more than one amplier. Signal wire such as the JL Audio Premium Audio Interconnect Cables should be used to provide signal for both channels of the amplier. JL Audio
reccomends using 12AWG speaker wire for subwoofers.

STEP 4
Unscrew the driver’s side cargo hook.
STEP 8
Remove the two screws at the bottom of the side panel.
STEP 3
Carefully unclip and remove the cargo sill panel.
STEP 7
Remove the screw that holds the front of the driver’s side
panel in place.
STEP 2
Remove the cargo floor panel. Remove the plastic divider at
the front of the storage area. Remove the screws that hold in
the cargo sill panel.
STEP 6
Open the driver’s side rear door, and carefully unclip and
remove the door sill panel.
STEP 1
Empty out the cargo area, and fold down the rear seat backs.
STEP 5
Remove the two screws that hold the back of the driver’s
side panel in place.

STEP 12
Remove the bolts that hold in the factory subwoofer
enclosure. Unclip the wiring harness and remove the
enclosure.
STEP 16
Slide the top of the Bracket over the factory stud pictured in
Step 14. Thread the 6mm Flange Nut over the stud. Do not
tighten at this time.
Align the bottom of the Bracket with the factory hole
pictured in Step 15. Slide a 1/4” Flat Washer over a 1/4 - 20
x 1” Hex Bolt and thread the assembly through the factory
hole and Bracket. Secure using a 1/4” Flat Washer, 1/4” Lock
Washer, and a 1/4 - 20 Hex Nut. Firmly tighten both the
upper and lower hardware. Slide a 3/8 - 16 U-Nut over the
center hole in the Bracket as shown.
S T E P 11
Pictured is the driver’s side of the vehicle with the side panel
removed.
STEP 15
Pictured is the factory hole that will be used to secure the
bottom of the Bracket.
STEP 10
Starting at the back of the vehicle, carefully unclip and
remove the driver’s side panel.
STEP 14
Pictured is the factory stud that will be used to secure the
top of the Bracket.
STEP 9
Unbolt the driver’s side rear seat belt bolt.
STEP 13
From the back of the driver’s side panel, remove the four
nuts that secure the factory subwoofer grille. Carefully unclip
and remove the grille.

STEP 20
Slide a 3/8” Flat Washer, a 3/8” Lock Washer, and a 3/8 -16 Hex
Nut over the 3/8 - 16 x 2-1/4” Set Screw, and firmly tighten.
Reinstall the woofer.
STEP 19
Remove the subwoofer from the Stealthbox®. Attach speaker
cable to the terminal cup, and place the enclosure into
position, allowing the 3/8 - 16 x 2-1/4” Set Screw to come
through the hole in the back of the enclosure. Route the
speaker cable as necessary.
STEP 18
Thread a 3/8 - 16 x 2-1/4” Set Screw through the seat belt clip
hole and into the 3/8- 16 U-Nut, leaving approximately 1-1/4”
exposed as shown.
STEP 17
Reinstall the driver’s side panel without the factory
subwoofer grille or the seat belt clip as shown.
