Both
types
of
enclosures
will
give

excellent
sound
quality

low-frequency

The
sealed
enclosure
is
a
better
choice
if
spa
ce
is
extremely
tight
, but
the
ported
enclosure
will
produce
3dB
more
outpu
t
at
the
same
pow
er
if
yo
u
have
the
ex
tra
spac
e
to
work
with
.

W6v3 Terminal Jumper System
Please note that the W6 v3 is a dual vo ice co il driv er.
BOTH voice coils m us t be connected to the amplifier
(in
series or parallel) for the speaker to operate
properly.
To accompli sh this, each W6v3 fea tures a
pair
of main input connection push-terminalsand
four voice coil configuration
tab terminal s. These are
located behind
the main input connectors and are
used to interconne ct th e dual voice co ils in one of
two ways: Diagram A shows a series connection
(80 nominal imp ed ance per speaker). Diagram B
shows a parallel connection
(20 nominal impedance
perspeaker) and isthe way the speaker
is configured
atthe factory. After verifying that
the tabs are
pr ope rly configured using th e supplied ju mpe r( s),
connect the amplifie r's out put wir es to th e W6v3s
main input push-t erm inals and install the speaker
into
the enclosu re .

·The enclosure re co mmendations listed are external
dimensions which a
ss ume the use of 3/4" (19mm)
thick materia
l. If you are using 5/8" (16mm) thick
material, subtract 1/4" (6.5mm) from each dimension.
Do
not use any material with a thickne ss of le ss than
5/8" (16mm)
as this may compromise th e rigidity of
the enclosure.

We do not recommend th e use of this
su bwoo f er witha passive crossover(coil), as this type of
de vi ce w ill adv ersely affect performance.
Prolongedexposure to soundpressure levels in excess of 1 OOdB can cause permanenthearing loss. This high-performance
speaker can exceed this level.
Please exercise restraint in its operation in order to preserveyourability to enjoy it sfidelity.
When installing a subwoofer
in your vehicle, it is ext re mely important to secure the enclosurefirmly. We recommend
bolting the enclosure through the metal of the floorpan or the frame of the vehicle with large diameter wa shers
for reinforcement. If an enclosure is not firmly attached, it can become a projectile in a collision. This is particularly
important in a hatchback, station wagon, sports utility vehicle, or van.
