quality and low-fre que nc y e xte nsion. The se ale d e nc losure is a be tte r c hoic e if spac e is e xtre me ly
tight, but the por te d e nc losure will produc e 3dB more output at the s ame powe r if you have the
e xtra spac e to wor k with.

When installing a subwooferin yourvehicle,itis extremely importantto secure the enclosure firmly. We recommend
bolting the enclosure through the metalof the floorpan or the frame of the vehicle with large diameter washers
for reinforcement.If an enclosure is not firmly attached,it can become a projectile in a collision.This is particularly
importantin a hatchback,station wagon,sports utility vehicle,orvan.
•The enclosure recommendations listed are external
dimensions which assume the use of 3/4" (19mm)
thick material. If you are using 5/8" (16mm) thick
material,subtract1/4"(6.5mm)from each dimension.
Do notuse any materialwith a thickness ofless than
5/8"(16mm)as this may compromise the rigidity of
the enclosure.
•Allenclosurevolumeslistedarenetinternalvolumes!
Box volume displacement, port displacement and
brace displacementmustbe added to obtain the final
grossinternalvolume.Allenclosure dimensionslisted
have already taken thisinto account.
•When using two subwoofers in a common
enclosure simply double the required volume and,
in the case ofa ported enclosure,use two timesthe
recommended port(s).
•We recommend the use of this speaker in a
bi-amplified system using high-quality satellite
speakers and amplifiers. We do not recommend
the use ofthis subwooferwith a passive crossover
(coil), as this type of device will adversely affect
performance.

Any applicable implied warranties are limited in duration to the period of
the express warranty as provided herein beginning with the date ofthe original
purchase atretail,and no warranties,whetherexpress orimplied,shallapply to this
product thereafter. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties,
therefore these exclusions may notapply to you. This warranty gives you specific
legalrights,and you may also have otherrights which vary from state to state.

All warranty returns should be sent to JL AUDIO freight prepaid through an
authorized JL AUDIO dealer and must be accompanied by proof of purchase
(a copy of the original sales receipt.) Direct returns from consumers or non-
authorized dealers willbe refused unless specifically authorized by JL AUDIO with
a valid return authorization number. Warranty expiration on products returned
withoutproofofpurchase willbe determined from the manufacturing date code.
Coverage may be invalidated asthis date is previousto purchase date. Return only
defective components.Non-defective itemsreceived willbe returned freight-collect.
Customeris responsible forshipping chargesand insurance in sending the product
to JL AUDIO. Freight damage on returns is not covered under warranty. Always
include proofofpurchase (sales receipt).

ME DIUM GR AY (MINIMUM):
From a reliability standpoint,thiszone represents
a very comfortable operating power range for
each driver.This levelof power willnot stress the
woofer but willnot extract allofits performance
potential,either.
Use of less than the minimum power levelwill
not damage the woofer, but may result in
unsatisfactory performance.
L IGHT GR AY (OP T IMUM):
This zone represents the best compromise
between long-term reliability, high-output and
low-distortion performance. This power level is
lower than the woofer’s continuous power rating
(as published in its specifications),butyou willstill
be taking advantage ofthe woofer’s,low-distortion
performance range withoutundue risk offailure.
DAR K GR AY (MAX IMUM):
Slightly more SPL will be gained by pushing
the power into this zone,but typically not more
than 2dB, compared to the light gray zone.The
subwoofer driver is designed to operate safely
up to this power range,but not beyond.Operate
with caution.
B L AC K (WAR R ANT Y VOID):
We do notrecommend operating woofersatthis
levelof power.In this zone,there is a very high
probability thatthe driverwillfaildue to excessive
heatand/ormechanicalstress.
