INSTALLATION GUIDE
for the
SB-H-CIVSDN/10W6v2
2006 - Up Honda Civic Sedan
(will not fit the coupe)
Thank you for choosing a JL Audio Stealthbox®for your automotive sound system. With proper installation, your new vehicle-
specific enclosed subwoofer system will deliver years of listening pleasure.
We strongly recommend that you have your new Stealthbox®installed by your authorized JL Audio dealer. The installation
professionals employed by your dealer have the necessary tools and experience to disassemble and reassemble your vehicle
properly. Also, keep in mind that your warranty coverage extends to 2 years if your system is installed or approved by your
authorized JL Audio dealer. If you prefer to perform your own installation, please read this installation guide completely
before beginning the process.
If you choose to perform the installation yourself, it is absolutely vital that
the Stealthbox®be properly mounted to the vehicle according to these
instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure properly presents two problems:
1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the enclosure
caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s).
2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a collision
or sudden deceleration.
S T E P 1
Empty out the trunk of the car so that you have a clean area
to work in.

S T E P 2
Remove the trunk floor. Remove the three clips that hold
the trunk liner in place., and pull the trunk liner out of the
way. Note the location of the upper clip hole for reference
in Step 5.
S T E P 3
Using a 3/8” drill bit, drill a hole in the center of the floor rib
as shown.
Before drilling, always make sure that you are not
going to be drilling into any gas lines, brake lines,
tires, transmission lines, electrical wiring, exhaust
systems or anything else that might cause a
reduction in your weekly pay.
Always wear eye protection when drilling!

S T E P 5
Locate the upper clip hole, as describe in Step 2. Place a
mark 3/4” from the left edge of the factory hole, as shown.
Using a 5/8” drill bit, drill a hole on the mark.
Before drilling, always make sure that you are not
going to be drilling into any gas lines, brake lines,
tires, transmission lines, electrical wiring, exhaust
systems or anything else that might cause a
reduction in your weekly pay.
Always wear eye protection when drilling!
S T E P 4
Using a razor knife, cut an “X” in the trunk liner over the hole
drilled in the previous step, and peel the liner up and away
from the hole.

Using a 3/8” drill bit, enlarge the factory hole. Slide the 1/4
- 20 Speed Clip through the larger hole, and align the threads
in the smaller hole, as shown. Reinstall the trunk liner, leav-
ing out the upper clip.

systems or anything else that might cause a

S T E P 7
Attach the Bracket to the back of the Stealthbox® using a
1/4” Flat Washer, 1/4” Lock Washer, and 1/4 - 20 x 1” Bolt, as
shown, and hand tighten.

S T E P 9
Place the Stealthbox® into position, allowing the Allen Head
Set Screw to go through the hole drilled in Step 3, and
align the bracket with the upper clip hole. Once aligned, tilt
the enclosure forward and firmly tighten the bracket to the
back of the Stealthbox®. Place a 1/4” Flat Washer and 1/4”
Lock Washer over the 1/4 - 20 x 1” Bolt, thread the assembly
through the 1/4 -20 Speed Clip, and firmly tighten. Reinstall
the trunk floor.
S T E P 8
Thread the Allen Head Set Screw into the threaded insert
in the bottom of the Stealthbox®, leaving 1-1/4” exposed, as
shown.
S T E P 1 0
From under the vehicle, place a 3/8” x 1-1/4 Fender Washer,
3/8” Split Lock Washer, and 3/8 - 16 Hex Nut on the Allen
Head Set Screw, and firmly tighten.

JL Audio recommends using a high quality amplifier such as the XD600/1. The diagram below shows the
recommended crossover settings for the XD600/1 when being used to power your Stealthbox®.
The XD600/1 is a very versatile audio component. Please consult the owner’s manual for even more detailed
information about installing and tuning this amplifier.
C O N N E C T I O N S
Using quality power, signal and speaker wire is essential in ensuring the performance of your Stealthbox®.
JL Audio recommends using a 4 AWG power kit such as the XD-PCS4-1B for your Stealthbox® amplifier. Other
kits are available should you be using more than one amplifier. Signal wire such as the JL Audio Premium
Audio Interconnect Cables should be used that will provide signal for both channels of the amplifier. JL Audio
reccommends using 12AWG speaker wire for subwoofers such as our XC-BCS12-25.
