•Places subject to constant vibration, humid or moist areas.
•No naked flames sources such as lighted candles should be
placed on the unit.
•Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of
battery disposal.
•Make sure not to obstruct the ventilation openings, a
minimum of 10cm should be kept around the apparatus for

AC operation
When the radio is connected to AC power for the first time it will be in standby mode. The display backlight will be on for a few
seconds, the display will first show the greetings and finally the clock.
Clock setting
The clock will only set and be updated if you can receive DAB signals in your location, in order for the clock to synchronise to the
current local time you must leave it one DAB station for a short period. You can also set the clock manually during standby mode:
1. Press the SLEEP/CLOCK button to enter into clock setting, Clock Time Set” and the “year” digits will flash first.
2. Press the PRESET/ARROW (UP or DOWN) button followed by pressing the SELECT button to adjust and confirm your desired date
and time first set the year, then the month and date and finally the hour and minute.
3. After the manual clock setting is completed, the display will show the present set time.
Press the SNOOZE/DIMMER button to adjust the brightness of the LCD light. Press the STANDBY/ON button once to turn the radio on,
it will then automatically enter into DAB mode and perform auto scan function. During the scan the display will show “Searching..”
together with a slide bar that indicates the progress of the scan and the amount of stations that have been found so far. (F.1)(F.2)(F.3)
Note: When the main unit power is off in DAB/FM/iPod mode, it will switch to corresponding mode after restart again.
Once the scan has finished the radio will select the first alphanumerically found station. Press the SKIP/TUNE SEARCH(up or DOWN)
button to explore the found stations.

Setting the alarm time and wake-up mode
1. Press the AL.SET/OFF (1 or 2) button once to enter into the alarm setup, to activate the alarm ON function by pressing the
PRESET/ARROW (UP or DOWN) button and press the SELECT button to confirm.
2. Press the PRESET/ARROW (UP or DOWN) button followed by pressing the SELECT button adjust and confirm the wake-up mode
settings first set the BEEP tone, second set the iPod station, then the FM station preset and finally the DAB station preset.
3. Press the PRESET/ARROW (UP or DOWN) button followed by pressing the SELECT button adjust and confirm your desired alarm
time-first set the hour then the minute.
4. After the confirmation of the alarm setting, the wake-up mode setting are completed and the top left of the display will show
“A..” or “A:”, now the alarm function is ready and active.
5. Repeat the above procedures to set the alarm (1 or 2).
6. When the bell is ringing, the alarm will go off and come on again in approximately 9minutes while the SNOOZE.DIMMER button is
pressed. Press the AL.SET/OFF (1or2) button to cancel the “SNOOZE” function.
Sleep function
This function allows you to program the system to switch off itself after a set period of time. You can set your sleep time in power on
mode:
1. To activate the sleep function, press the SLEEP/CLOCK button, the display will show “SLEEP Time 90 min”
2. Repeatedly press the SLEEP/CLOCK button to select the sleep time, it will change in sequence on every press:

ALARM SETUP:

DAB auto scan
The auto scan will either search for the UK or the entire DAB Band III channels dependent on the selection. After the scan has finished,
the first alphanumerically found station will be automatically selected, to activate auto scan do the following:
1. To activate the autoscan “QUICK SCAN”, first press the “STANDBY ON”, press the
PLAY/PAUSE/SCAN button once, the display will show “autotune Quickscan” and then a
progressing slide bar and “Searching…”(F.5)
2. TO activate autoscan scan full scan, first press the “STANDBY ON”, then press and hold the
PLAY/PAUSE/SCAN button until the display shows “Autotune Fullscan” (F.6)
3. To explore the stations that have been found, press the SKIP.TUNE SEARCH (UP or DOWN)
buttons.
DAB manual tune
1. To select manual tune, press and hold the SELECT button until the display shows “manual tune” (F.7).
2. Press the SKIP/TUNE SEARCH (UP or DOWN) Buttons to move through the DAB channels, the display will show “5A to 13F” and
their as associated frequencies.
3. When your desired frequency appears in the display. Press the SELECT button to confirm, it will now starting searching the chosen
multiplex displaying “tuning” (F.8)
4. Press the SKIP.TUNE SEARCH (UP or Down) buttons to see what stations are present on the found ensemble/multiplex, when you
have located your desired station, press the select button, and at the same time, you will also exit from manual tuning mode.

DAB secondary services
On some occasions you will see a “>” symbol directly after the name of the station, this indicates that there secondary services
available to that station. The secondary services contain extra services that relate to the primary station E.g. a sports station may want
to add extra commentaries. The secondary services are inserted directly after primary station.
DAB display
Every time you press MENU/INFO button, the display will cycle through the following display modes:
In DAB mode:
Time and Date
The time and date is automatically updated by the broadcasted
information. In an unlikely event no clock information is received.
The display will show “<TIME/DATE>”.
Frequency
The frequency of the present station will be displayed
Audio bit rate
The display will show the digital audio bit rate being received.
Signal strength
The display will show a slide bar to indicate the signal strength.

DLS
DLS stands for Dynamic label Segment which is scrolling message
that the broadcaster may include, for example: name of the song
or information of the programme on.
Programme type
This describes the style of the programme that is being broadcast.
If the information is not available, the display will show
“<Programme type>”
Ensemble/Multiplex (group name)
The ensemble/multiplex is a collection of radio stations that are
bundled and transmitted together in a single frequency. There
are national and local multiplexes.

FM Radio
1. To select FM press the FUNCTION button, the display “Switching to FM”. On the middle of the display will show the station in name
or frequency.
2. To activate auto search press PLAY/PAUSE/SCAN button until it starts to scan upwards. To auto scan downwards press and hold the
PLAY/PAUSE?SCAN button. It will stop automatically once station has been found.
3. To activate manual search, press the SKIP/TUNE SEARCH (UP or DOWN) buttons.
4. To select audio mode press the SELECT button to toggle between the “Auto” or “Mono” selection.
Note: the radio will automatically switch between stereo & mono mode, but you can override this & switch this function manually
which is helpful for poor signal reception
Storing and recalling stored stations
In either DAB or FM mode, you can store up to 10 stations on preset, this will enable you to direct access to favourite stations.
1. To store a preset, first tune to desired station, then press and the PRESET button once, the display will show “preset 1”, you will
approximately have 5 seconds to perform the next step. (F.9)
2. Press the PRESET/ARROW (UP or DOWN) button to select your desired preset number and then press and hold the PRESET button
to confirm your selection. The display will show “Preset# Stored”. (F.10)
3. To recall a preset station, press the PRESET button once, then press the PRESET/ARROW (UP or DOWN) button to select the
stations that you have stored, when your desired preset number and its associated frequency appears in the display, press the
PRESET button to confirm. If the preset hasn’t been allocated a station, the display will show “Preset# Empty”. (F.10)

Every time you press the MENU/INFO button in FM mode, the display will cycle through the following display modes:

FM SETUP:

This unit incorporates an IPhone/IPod docking function, your favourite songs in the IPhone/IPod can playback through this unit, a
range of adaptors are supplied for various IPod models
FACTORY RESET
When you move the radio to another part of the country, your pre-tuned and stored DAB stations may no longer be available. If this is
the case then you will need to reset your radio back to its original factory settings, to perform a factory reset, please do the following.
1. Ensure the unit is connected to AC mains.
2. Plug the radio to mains and press the STANDBY/ON button once to turn the radio on.
3. Depress and hold the FUNCTION button unit the display shows “Press Enter Key to Reset”
4. Press the SELECT button once, the display will show “System reset OK” and then finally perform full auto scan function.
5. After the scan has finished, the radio will select and display the first alphanumerically found station.
Note: All of your stored DAB & FM pre-sets will be lost once the reset has taken place, the radio will automatically switch between
stereo & mono mode, but you can override this & switch this function manually which is helpful for poor signal reception

IPHONE/IPOD SETUP:
1. Select an adaptor (this is not supplied) which matches your iPod model and install it into the
docking tray, and insert your iPhone/iPod into the docking tray.
2. Press the FUNCTION button to iPod mode, the display will show “Switch to iPod” and then
“iPod Connected”. (F11)
3. Press the SCAN/PLAY/PAUSE button.
4. To skip forward or back to other tracks during playback, press the SKIP/TUNE SEARCH (UP
or DOWN) button.
5. To select “iPod Menu”, press the MENU/INFO button.
6. To scroll down and up in the “iPod Menu”, press the PRESET/ARROW (UP or DOWN)
button.
7. To Confirm the selection in the “iPod Menu”, press the SELECT control.
