6. Installation
6.1. The JMP Lux 700 EH motorcycle lift should only be installed and commissioned by qualified personnel.
6.2.
The JMP Lux 700 EH motorcycle lift should only be installed and operated in dry indoor rooms. A level
surface area of at least 250 x 250 is required for installation. The floor should be level to ensure the
stability of the motorcycle lift and the mechanic working on it. Where this is not the case, the motorcycle lift
should be anchored with dowels in the floor.
6.3.
Use of the motorcycle lift in the following spaces is expressly forbidden:
a) Rooms where there is a risk of explosion or fire
b) Rooms that are wet or damp
c) Outdoor areas
6.4.
Electrical connections: An electric connection of 230V/16A/50 is required for the JMP Lux 700 EH
motorcycle lift. The JMP Lux 700 EH motorcycle lift is delivered to you completely assembled. Please
remove the motorcycle lift from the shipping container and conduct a through visual inspection of the lift
to identify any transportation damage. In addition, check all electric and hydraulic lines for damage.
6.5.
Electrical connection should only be realised by a qualified electrician. During installation, it is imperative to
ensure that the supply cable is protected against mechanical loading.
7. Operation
The motorcycle lift should only be operated in accordance with the complete operating
instructions. Therefore, please ensure that you read this manual completely prior to initial
commissioning!
The motorcycle lift should only be operated by qualified personnel. Please note that incorrect operation can
lead to severe accidents!
7.1.
Raising / Lowering
The motorcycle lift is operated via a remote control connected by cable. The motorcycle lift is raised or
lowered as long as the UP or DOWN button is pressed.
The control deactivates automatically as soon as the respective limit point of the lift
has been reached.
7.2.
Emergency stop button
Raising and lowering of the motorcycle lift can be interrupted at any time with the aid of the emergency stop
button. The emergency stop button should be depressed for this purpose. The button should be turned to
the right to release it again.
7.3.
Safety catch
In the unlikely event of the hydraulic unit failing, a mechanical safety catch prevents
uncontrolled lowering of the lift platform.

The lift platform can be raised at any time, and the safety catch is lifted automatically.
To enable intended lowering of the lift platform, the safety lever should first be
unlocked to raise the safety catch. Lowering of the work platform can be achieved
without difficulty in this state.
The safety catch is automatically locked again if the work platform is lowered completely.
8. Maintenance and safety
Regular maintenance of the motorcycle lift is necessary to ensure safe operation. Please ensure that the
motorcycle lift undergoes a complete inspection every 24 months at the latest.
8.1. Daily inspection
• Check regularly to ensure that the safety catch functions smoothly and correctly:
o The safety catch must engage automatically and smoothly during raising of the motorcycle lift.
o The safety catch must activate automatically again when the motorcycle lift is lowered
completely.
o When the ramp is raised completely, the pump is deactivated electrically by the integrated limit
switch (see spare part 59 under 11).
• Clean the motorcycle lift
• Check the limit switch (see spare part 59 under 11)
• Check for oil leaks
In the event of one of these safety measures not functioning or if you are unsure, please contact the
Matthies workshop service or your sales partner immediately.
8.2. Weekly inspection
• Lubrication of bearings and hinges
• Check the oil level
8.3. Monthly inspection
