Step 2: Replace Bracket
a) Remove (8) bolts attaching the rear stops (see figure 2).
b) Remove the rear stop by rotating as shown in figure 3.
c) Actuate slider cylinder and remove the slide bracket.
d) Actuate slider cylinder on new bracket and slide onto the rails with the cylinder end
forward.
e) Re-adjust the Adjustment Screws if required, using the following procedure.
1) Slide the bracket fore and aft, checking for free movement.
Re-adjust as required.
2) Tighten the adjusting screws until they contact the slide
rack on both sides of the tractor making sure that they
extend the same distance on both sides. Now loosen each
adjustment screw 1/2 turn and set the jam nut.
3) Slide the bracket fore and aft, checking for free movement.
Re-adjust as required.
f) Reinstall the rear stops and torque all the bolts to 40 ft-lbs.
Step 3: Re-Install Topplate
a) Lower the topplate onto the bracket using a suitable
lifting device.
b) Install the bracket pins, tab washers and mounting
bolts. Securely tighten the mounting bolts, then bend
the locking tabs over each bolt (see figure 5).
Assembly Tip: Before putting the topplate back on the
mounting bracket, liberally grease the top of
the pivot collars to help hold them in place.
