Maintenance
Trouble Shooting
Noise issue during use
The most likely cause is that some nuts or bolts are loose. Please check every nut and bolt using a socket set,
spanner or Allen key. Tighten each nut and bolt securely. Where possible, use a socket set to get maximum
torque.
If the noise is coming from the front of the machine, it could be that the issue is with the bolt on the pivot of the
swinging arm (A14) where it meets the foot pedal tube (A06). This is the only fixing which should NOT be over-
tightened. If you experience noise from this area, loosen the nut by half a turn and test again. You can continue
this process until the noise has stopped.
The elliptical trainer wobbles or shakes during use
Adjust the Adjustable Foot Pads on the stabilizer tubes to level the elliptical trainer.
Computer not working correctly
Check to make sure the computer cable is connected securely.
LCD displays E-1: This indicates that the computer is not receiving your heart rate figure. Make sure to hold
both hands on the pulse sensors.
Screen is blank: Make sure you have disconnected your device from the Bluetooth receiver. When a
smartphone or tablet is connected to the computer, the screen will be blank.
Inconsistent or erratic heart rate reading
Always hold on to the handlebar grip sensors with both hands. Try to maintain moderate pressure while holding
onto the hand pulse sensors.
Polar chest strap: Make sure the chest strap sensors are lubricated well. N.B. Users with body hair may receive
inconsistent readings.
Maintenance
Nuts and bolts
Please check every nut and bolt regularly using a socket set, spanner or Allen key. Tighten each nut and bolt
securely. Where possible, use a socket set to get maximum torque.
Cleaning
The elliptical trainer can be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents on
plastic
parts. Please wipe your perspiration off the elliptical trainer after each use. Be careful not to get excessive
moisture on
the computer display panel as this might cause an electrical hazard or electronics to fail.
Storage
Store the elliptical trainer in a clean and dry environment away from children. Please keep the
elliptical
trainer, specifically the computer console, out of direct sunlight to prevent screen damage.

Please note the LCD screen can be tilted slightly so that it can be angled to suit your height
Types of programme
Manual mode. This programme is indicated by the letter ‘M’ and it allows you to adjust resistance manually for
the duration of your workout.
12 automatic programmes –These programmes are indicated by an icon which shows the shape of the
workout. The workout you do will always follow the shape of this icon but you can make any of these
programmes more challenging by increasing the resistance.
4 heart rate programmes –You can set a target heart rate and the resistance will adjust accordingly to keep
you exercising at your specified heart rate. If you’re below your target rate, the resistance will increase. If you
go above your heart rate, the resistance will be decreased. When you add your age, your maximum heart rate
will be calculated and you can choose whether to exercise at 55%, 75%, 90% or a specific target percentage
of your maximum heart rate.
Watt programme –This allows you to specify a target level of power that you wish to generate while you train.
Tracking power generated in watts is widely considered one of the most objective ways of measuring your
performance. In this programme the resistance will be automatically adjusted until you reach your target level
of power.
User programme –This allows you to design your own programme. You can change it at any time and if you
turn your machine off, it will still be saved when you turn it back on.
Feedback display
The computer display will give you feedback while you exercise. You can track the following values:
Speed –Displays your current speed in KPH
RPM –Displays your current rotations per minute
RPM sidebar –Displays your current rotations per minute on a colour sidebar
Time –Displays the amount of time elapsed for current workout
Distance –Displays the total distance travelled for current workout
Calories –Displays an estimate of the amount of calories burned for current workout
Watt –Displays your current power consumption in watts
Pulse –Displays current pulse (chest strap or pulse sensor connection required)
Pulse sidebar –Displays current pulse on a colour sidebar

Computer
A12
You can choose any of the values above to be displayed in a larger size. By default your speed will be
displayed large but you may prefer to focus on something different. Press the ‘Mode’ button repeatedly to
cycle through the values above.
Speed/RPM –Please note the computer will not display both speed and RPM simultaneously. If you wish to
change from speed to RPM or vice versa, press the ‘Mode’ button repeatedly and notice that it will switch on
each cycle.
Operation –Manual and Automatic programmes
On the home screen you can scroll through the programmes using the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons. Select the
programme you wish to use and press the ‘Mode’ button.
Now you can select the starting resistance. Use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to adjust the resistance level and
press the ‘Mode’ button to select it. N.B. Some automatic programmes will restrict how much you can adjust
the resistance. You will be constrained by the shape of the workout you have chosen. For example, you can
increase the resistance up until the point at which the most challenge section of the workout has reached the
maximum resistance level of 16.
Now you can select the time you wish to train for. Adjust the time using the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons and once
you have the desired time set, press the ‘Start/Stop’ button to begin your workout.
While working through the programme you can continue to adjust the resistance. N.B. Same as above, the
extent to which you can adjust resistance may be limited by the general shape of the programme.
Operation –Heart rate training programmes
On the home screen, scroll to the heart icon and press the ‘Mode’ button to select this programme type.
Use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to adjust your age and press the ‘Mode’ button to select it. Your age will be
used to calculate your maximum heart rate.
Now choose what percentage of your maximum heart rate you would like to train at. You can quickly select
55%, 75% or 90% or if you have something more specific in mind, select ‘Target’.
Use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to choose your preferred heart rate percentage and press the ‘Mode’ button
to select it.
Now you can select the time you wish to train for. Adjust the time using the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons and once
you have the desired time set, press the ‘Start/Stop’ button to begin your workout.
You can either use the pulse sensors on the handlebars or the wireless chest strap that was supplied with
your machine. When using the wireless chest strap, ensure you lubricate the sensors adequately and connect
securely across your chest with the centre of the belt positioned in the centre of your chest.
N.B. strap will not function as effectively on users with body hair.

Use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to select your target power output in watts. Press the ‘Mode’ button to select
it. Now you can select the time you wish to train for. Adjust the time using the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons and
once you have the desired time set, press the ‘Start/Stop’ button to begin your workout.
N.B. unlike other programmes you will be unable to adjust the resistance manually while using the watt
training programme. The resistance can only be adjusted automatically by the computer to get you training at
your target power output.
Operation –User training programme
On the home screen, scroll to the ‘U’ icon and press the ‘Mode’ button to select this programme type.
Each bar represents a section of the programme and can have a resistance level anywhere between 1 and
16. Use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to set the desired level of resistance. Once the resistance is set at the
required level, press the ‘Mode’ button to proceed to the next bar.
Now you can select the length of time you wish the programme to last. Hold the ‘Mode’ button down for 2
seconds. Adjust the time using the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons and once you have the desired time set, press the
‘Start/Stop’ button to begin your workout.
Operation –Recovery mode
When you have finished your training you can use the recovery mode to track how quickly your heart rate
reduces. This is widely considered to be a great measure of fitness and its good value to track over time to
measure an improvement in your fitness level.
The recovery mode may be better when used with the wireless chest strap which is supplied with your model.
First make sure your heart rate is being tracked and you can see your heart rate on the display. N.B. If you
can see the letter ‘P’ this indicates that no pulse is being received.
Now press the ‘Recovery’ button. Your heart rate will continue to display for the next 60 seconds. The
computer will track how much your heart rate reduces during 60 seconds and give you a value between 1 and
6 as a measurement of your fitness. A value of F1 is considered outstanding and a value of F6 is considered
poor.
When you have completed the recovery mode exercise, press the ‘Recovery’ mode to return to the home
screen.
