Set Up Procedure
7Juvent 1000 Instruction Manual
1. Remove the Juvent 1000 Device
from its box and place it on the
stand as shown. (Figure 1)
Figure 1
2. Connect one end of the RS-232
serial cable to the 9-pin connector on
the RFID box, as shown in Figure 2. Two
screws are provided on the serial
connector; use them to lock the connector
in place. If using a screwdriver, be careful
not to overtighten the screws.
3. The Juvent system power supply has two
output cords. With the power supply on
the floor, only one cord will reach the
RFID unit. Plug the longer cord into the
RFID unit as shown in Figure 3.
Figure 2
Figure 3

8Juvent 1000 Instruction Manual
4. The cables for the RFID unit are to be
run down the outside of the center pole,
on the side facing away from the user.
Secure the cables with approximately
4 inches of the Velcro supplied.
(Figure 4)
NOTE: Do not make the bend too tight
in the cables exiting the RFID unit.
5. As the cables exit the RFID unit,
position the cables as shown in Figure
5, using more lengths of Velcro.
6. Continue by fastening the cables in the
center of the middle pole. Fasten the
cables near the base of the pole. Peel
the liner of the double sided tape on
back of the power supply and place onto
the bar. Affix power supply with two
longer Velcro strips.
(Figure 6 and 7)
Route the power supply cable through
the retaining clip as shown.

7. Connect the free end of the RS-232 cable
to the Juvent 1000 device as shown in
Figure 9. Tighten the two screws, but do
not overtighten.
Plug the free end of the power supply cord
into the Juvent 1000 as shown in
Figure 10.
8. Plug the AC power plug into an AC
outlet (Ensure the outlet is not
controlled by a wall switch).
9. Turn on the Juvent 1000 power switch.

11. Stand on the device and place your special Juvent test card over the “Start
Treatment” area and verify the following:
A. The red RFID standby indicator went off and the green treatment
indicator turned on.
B. The device’s blue LCD lights up.
C. The device runs through the 12 second “Self test cycle” and begins the
10 minute treatment countdown.
If your first card did not activate the system, repeat the test operation with the second
card.
12. If the system still does not activate, check all connections.
13. Troubleshooting: See page 24 or call Juvent engineering - 1-877-209-9600

Medical Device Description
Disposing of the Medical Device
The Juvent 1000 Dynamic Motion Therapy Platform contains electronic
equipment that could have a potential effect on the environment if not
disposed of properly. When disposing of the Juvent 1000 becomes
necessary, the medical device must not be disposed with domestic
waste. Please contact your local Juvent distributor for information on
recycling the device properly.
The Juvent 1000 Dynamic Motion Therapy Platform is an easy-to-use
medical device that delivers a 10-minute daily treatment. The Juvent
1000 does not use any motors, cams or eccentric weights. The Plat-
form does use a patented single spring, actuator driven, unique four-
point suspension system that stabilizes the action of the Platform while
offering a significant mechanical advantage.
These features allow the Juvent 1000 to be in mechanical resonance
with the body mass of the user by adjusting the frequency of the
vibration to the size of the individual standing on the medical device. It
also results in a very efficient and gentle therapy that requires little
power to operate (less than 7.5 watts, or less than the power of a
nightlight).
The Juvent 1000 Platform is made of a rigid aluminum plate for the
vibration surface. This surface is covered by a biocompatible mat for
comfort. The Platform is enclosed by a two-piece plastic housing
module with a built-in handle for easy transport. The rigid aluminum
plate and the rugged, molded two-piece top/bottom housing are
designed for many years of dependable service.
When a user stands on the surface of the Platform in stocking feet, a
gentle mechanical vertical pulsation (displacement) is applied to the
bottom of their feet. The Juvent 1000 incorporates a microprocessor
controlled, automatic gain control to ensure that the correct signal is
constantly delivered to the user.
