Safety Precautions
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an
equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the
presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the
product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude

operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in

The battery may explode if it

Doing so may damage or break the

Precautions on Using Wi-Fi
Cautions on the Wi-Fi Function
• Operation is not guaranteed on all
devices.
• This function is not designed for
disaster or crime prevention.
• Communication may not be carried
out properly near radio equipment
or broadcasting stations. In this case,
change the location accordingly.
• Radio wave interference by
Bluetooth devices
Bluetooth devices make use of the
same frequency bandwidth (2.4
GHz) as that of Wi-Fi devices. Using
this product near such devices may
cause radio wave interference, and
result in a drop in communication
speed or connection failure. In this
case, turn off the power of devices
that are not in use.
Wireless LAN security
An advantage of wireless LAN is
that instead of using a LAN cable,
it transmits information using
radio waves, thus enabling a LAN
connection to be established within
the area covered by the radio waves.
However, as radio waves penetrate
through objects (such as walls)
within the range that they cover,
security issues, such as interception
of transmission or illegal access,
may arise if security settings are
not configured. Before you connect

to the network in a wireless LAN
environment, read through the
instruction manual for the wireless
LAN device in use, and configure the
security settings accordingly.
Failure to do so may increase the risk
of personal information such as user
names, passwords, and the content
of your e-mails being intercepted, or
illegal access to the network.
• Due to the design of wireless LAN,
note that security may be breached
by unusual or unforeseeable means.
• For more details on wireless LAN
and network security, please consult
the manufacturer of your wireless
LAN device.
• JVC shall not be liable for any
security issues, problems, damage
or losses arising from the use of this
feature.
Radio Waves Used by this Product
This product makes use of radio
waves in the ISM band (2.4 GHz).
Although a radio station license is
not required to use this product,
please take note of the following.
• Do not use this product near the
following places
• Industrial, scientific, or medical
equipment, such as microwave
ovens and pacemakers
• Specified low-power radio
stations that do not require a
license
• Bluetooth devices
Equipment, such as the above
mentioned devices, makes use of
the same frequency bandwidth
as that of Wi-Fi.
Using this product near the above
equipment may cause radio
wave interference, and result in
communication failure or a drop
in communication speed.
• Avoid using this product near a
TV or radio set.
TV or radio sets make use of a
radio wave frequency bandwidth
that is different from that of Wi-
Fi, and therefore has no effect on
communication by this product or
the TV/radio set.
However, when a TV/radio set is
placed close to a Wi-Fi product,
electromagnetic waves emitted by
the Wi-Fi product may cause noise
to occur in the sound or images of
the TV/radio.
• Radio signals are unable to
penetrate through reinforced
steel, metal, or concrete.
The radio waves used by this
product are unable to penetrate
through reinforced steel, metal, or
concrete materials.
It may difficult for communication to
be established if two rooms or floors
are separated by these materials.
*Communication may also become
weaker when there are human
subjects or parts of the body in
between the Wi-Fi devices.
• Do not connect to wireless
networks that you do not have
authorization for.
Once connected, it may be
considered as unauthorized access
and legal actions can be taken
against you.
• Do not use the Wi-Fi function
outside the country of purchase.
Depending on the country, there
may be restrictions on the use of
radio waves and any violations could
be punishable by law.
• Exporting/Bringing the Unit
Overseas
Permission from the U.S.

controlled country set by the U.S.

Waterproof Function
This camera is equipped with a
waterproof function.
This camera can make recordings in
marine water and fresh water. We
recommend selecting [Blue (marine)]/
[Green (marine)] in White Balance for
underwater scenes. The waterproof
function is tested in accordance with
JVC test standards and it does not
assure damage-free or trouble-free
operation. (The waterproof functions
not evaluated by UL.)
The waterproof function cannot be
guaranteed if the camera is subject
to impact.

publication 529 IPX8.
• The cover for the ports must be
firmly closed.
• Do not use this product in water
deeper than 5 m (16.4 ft).
• Do not use in the following
locations:
Places with higher water pressure
than specified, in hot springs or
water of 40°C (104°F) or higher.
• Supplied accessories are not
waterproof.
■Malfunction due to water immersion

— Maintenance After Use —
• After use in water or a dusty
environment, rinse the camera as
soon as possible with still fresh
water in a basin.
• Always keep the lens clean and wipe
the water droplets off the camera
with a soft and dry cloth.
• Air-dry the camera completely in a
shaded area.
■The waterproof function of the
ports is not guaranteed in all
environments or conditions (IPX8
5m (16.4ft) 30 minutes).

Charging the Battery

Inserting an SD Card
Setting the Clock
• Insert a separately purchased
SD card into the SD slot firmly,
until the card is locked.
• To remove the SD card, push
the card in once, and pull it
out straight.
• When using a new SD card,
format the card in the menu
screen.
Operation is confirmed with the following manufacturers' SD cards.
Class 4 or higher SD/SDHC/SDXC cards
(up to 128GB)
When recording with 1080p60 (1080p50), Class 6 or higher is
required.

■To switch to the photo capturing mode

• The approximate available recording time is about 60 minutes
(1080p30/25) using the battery.
• Do not remove the battery or the SD card while the access LED
is lit.
• The power is automatically turned off if no operation is per-
formed for 5 minutes.
• If you connect a separately sold AC adapter (AC-V17LU) and the
connection mode is set to "AC", you can record with the power
supplied through the miniUSB connector while the camera is
charging. (The battery is not charged while the power is on.)

Using Wi-Fi
■Available functions
(*1): To use these functions, you must register wireless LAN
settings and a service account in advance using a PC,
Android or iOS application.
For more details, please refer to the "Detailed User Guide".
■To monitor the camera view
1Download the appropriate application.
Download "ADIXXION sync." (freeware) from Google Play (for
Android devices) or App store (for iOS devices) and install.
2Set the Wi-Fi function of the camera to on.
~Press MENU.
ŸPress < or > to select "Wi-Fi Menu", and press SET.
!Press < or > to select "ON", and press SET.
⁄Confirm the displayed camera ID and KEY.
• Power consumption will increase while the Wi-Fi setting is
on. Set the Wi-Fi setting to off when not in use.
3Set the Wi-Fi function of your device to on.
Android device:
~Touch "Settings" on the application list.
ŸTouch "Wireless & network".
!Touch "Wi-Fi" to turn the Wi-Fi on.
●Monitoring the camera view
You can check the camera view and operate the camera from
an Android or iOS device.
●Broadcasting using Ustream (*1)
You can broadcast camera footage in real-time using Ustream.
●Uploading to YouTube (*1)
You can upload files to YouTube.

Troubleshooting

Cannot turn on the camera/

Précautions sur la fonction Wi-Fi
• Le fonctionnement n'est pas garanti
sur tous les appareils.
• Cette fonction n'est pas conçue

à proximité d'équipements de
radiodiffusion ou de stations de radio.

• Interférence d'ondes radio par
des appareils Bluetooth
Les appareils Bluetooth peuvent
utiliser la même bande de fréquence
(2,4 GHz) que celle des appareils
Wi-Fi. L'utilisation de ce produit à
proximité de tels appareils peut
causer des interférences d'ondes
radio, et cela peut entraîner une
baisse de vitesse de communication
ou une erreur de connexion. Dans
ce cas, mettez hors tension les
appareils qui ne sont pas utilisés.
Sécurité des réseaux sans fil
Un des avantages des réseaux sans
fil est qu'au lieu d'utiliser un câble
réseau, il transmet les informations
par ondes radio, ce qui permet
d'établir une connexion réseau dans
la zone couverte par les ondes radio.
Cependant, comme les ondes radio
pénètrent à travers des objets (par
exemple, les murs) à l'intérieur de la
plage qu'ils couvrent, des questions
de sécurité, telles que l'interception
de la transmission ou l'accès illégal,
peuvent survenir si les paramètres de

sécurité ne sont pas configurés. Avant
de vous connecter au réseau dans
un environnement de réseau sans

Ondes radio utilisées avec cet appareil
Ce appareil utilise des ondes radio
de la bande ISM (2,4 GHz).
Bien qu'aucune licence de station
de radio n'est pas nécessaire pour
utiliser ce produit, veuillez prendre
note de ce qui suit.
• N'utilisez pas produit près des
endroits suivants
• Matériel scientifique, médical ou
industriel, tels que les fours à micro-
ondes et les stimulateurs cardiaques
• Stations de radio de faible puissance
qui ne nécessitent pas une licence
• Périphériques Bluetooth
Équipements, tels que les appareils

même bande de fréquence que
celle de la connexion Wi-Fi.
L'utilisation de cet appareil près
d'un des appareils ci-dessus peut

Il peut difficile d'établir une
communication si deux pièces ou deux
étages sont séparés par ces matériaux.

sujets humains ou de parties du
corps entre les appareils Wi-Fi.
• Ne vous connectez pas à des
réseaux sans fil dont vous n'avez
pas l'autorisation.
Une fois connecté, cela pourrait être

et des actions en justice pourraient être
entreprises contre vous.
• N'utilisez pas la fonction Wi-Fi en
dehors du pays d'achat.
En fonction du pays, il peut y avoir des
restrictions sur l'utilisation des ondes
radio et les éventuelles violations
pourrait être punies par la loi.
• Exportation/déplacement de
l'appareil à l'étranger
