1 Product Information
Foreword
Thank you for choosing a far infrared heating system from Könighaus Heizsysteme.
Far infrared heaters are electric heaters and work with electricity. As a result, there
is a certain risk potential. It is therefore important to read these operating instruc-
tions carefully before starting up the heater. Furthermore, the operating instructions
should always be kept close to the device.
If you have any doubts or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
1.1 Far Infrared Heaters
Far infrared heaters are direct heaters that operate on the principle of heat radia-
tion (infrared). They do not need much energy to create a comfortable and pleasant
room climate.
Due to an energy conversion of almost 100%, the far infrared heaters are very effi-
cient in transmission. The surfaces of the heating panels are designed to achieve
optimum heat dissipation at wavelengths ranging from 6 to 15 μm.
The heating panels use the same principle of solar heating, whereby the heat
waves irradiate bodies and objects, which in turn emit the heat. The resulting in-
door climate corresponds to a climate generated by natural solar radiation. Further-
more, the formation of mould is prevented because the walls store the heat much
longer and more effectively than with convection heating.
Far infrared heaters can be used for a wide variety of buildings or rooms and their
environments. Depending on the environment and type of application, different
models are recommended. Our consultants will be happy to assist you in the selec-
tion of the individual model. There are different installation instructions for different
models. These should be strictly observed. (see below).
The infrared panels with remote control heat up to working temperature for only a
few minutes (about 5 to 10 minutes). You will find more information in Chapter 2. If
you do not feel a warm and comfortable temperature in the room immediately after
a short time, continue operating the far infrared heater until the items and objects in
the room are heated up. After the first introductory phase, the heater should use
little energy to heat the room, as objects and walls are heated.
Depending on the model, the surface will heat up to 80 to 125 °C. All our far infra-
red heaters are equipped with overheating protection, which automatically switches
off the heating operation of the device in the event of overheating.

1.2 Various mounting types
1.2.1 Ceiling mount
With the M series, ceiling mounting is possible. For safety reasons, this should only
be carried out by a specialist. Please note but urgently follow the instructions for
mounting.
1.2.2 Wall mount
Far infrared heaters are the perfect auxiliary or main heating systems for residential
areas. Due to the aesthetic aspect and the space-saving design of our far infrared
heating systems, they can be installed in almost any environment. (Please observe
the instructions for installation).
1.2.3 Mobile operation with aluminium and wood feet
Our far infrared heaters can be used very well with our aluminium or wood feet
which are mobile and flexible at different places. For this reason, mount the feet on
the outer frame. For stability reasons, we recommend mounting on the wide side of
the heater and thus operation in horizontal format.
1.2.4 Direct installation on the power circuit
Our series M without a plug is designed for direct installation on the power supply
circuit and may only be installed by a specialist. If this is not observed, warranty
claims and liability claims will not be granted and a risk may arise.

cluded for far-infrared heating systems used without original suspension.
5.1 General notes on mounting
Various mounting types are available for the various models. Our far infrared
heaters have certain suspension devices. These must be used for mounting.
Our series M is designated for direct installation to the power supply network.
The installation must obligatorily be carried out by a specialist. The infrared
panel for heating with remote control is designated for fixed mounting on the
ceiling and the wall.
Remove the blue transportation protective film (series E, M, with glass and a
mirror).
Make sure that the power plug is not plugged in or that the device is already
connected to the power circuit. The device may only be installed if it is not
switched on.
Under no circumstances should you drill holes in the far infrared heater. If this
happens accidentally, do not operate the device under any circumstances and
contact your dealer.
For the Konighaus E and P-Series, use the enclosed mounting template and
follow the mounting instructions to ensure easy and trouble-free installation.
If the appliance is used in children's rooms or in rooms accessible to children,
please ensure that the far infrared heater is suspended 1.20 metres above the
floor.
Distance to the rear side: Our infrared heating panels with remote control give
off convection heat to the rear side (but not infrared radiation). Nevertheless,
with a view to the ventilation make sure that the rear side of series Könighaus
M (with fixing supports) is not at a distance smaller than 25 mm from the wall.
This distance is guaranteed only when the attached fixing material for wall
mounting is used. Distance of 10 mm should be observed for series P.
Mounting on ceiling should be carried out by a specialist / electrician. The
panel does not have a plug (it is connected directly to the power supply net-
work) and must be used with a temperature regulating thermostat. At mounting
on ceiling it must be obligatorily guaranteed that the distance from the alumin-
ium cleats adds up to about 25 mm to guarantee the discharge of the hot air

behind the panel and prevent accumulation of heat. Screws with size of over
25 mm must be used for the purpose.
Distance to the front: Our far-infrared heaters emit far-infrared radiation only at
the front. Ensure that the minimum distance of approx. 50 cm to the front, 20
cm to the side and up and down is 20 cm.
When mounting in public areas, VDE 0108 must be observed.
Direct splashing of water must be avoided. In case of mounting or use in wet
rooms, the installation must always be carried out by a specialist company and
in accordance with VDE 0100 parts 701, 702 and 703.
When installing in wet rooms, care must be taken that the device cannot come
into contact with water (shower and bathtub). Do not use wet fingers.
Do not mount the heating device directly below or in front of a plug socket.
The mains plug must be accessible after installation and must be able to be
pulled out immediately if necessary.
If the remote infrared heater is to be connected to a fixed installed electrical
installation, a disconnecting device of the overvoltage category III must be pro-
vided for full disconnection. This connection work may only be carried out by a
qualified specialist.
5.1.1 Installation of the Konighaus E-Series
1) Drill the four holes into the wall according to the holding devices on the back
and then insert the enclosed dowels into the holes so that they are congruent
with the wall.
2) Then fasten the holders with a washer and screw (Series: Holder Washer
Screw)
3) Align the brackets so that they are horizontal on the wall.
4) Place the wall-mounted panel in the holder. Make sure that the panel is firmly
seated.
Indication: The installation is also valid for the old series P.

Warning / Notice
If the device is not installed properly, there are considerable dangers, such as
dangers due to electric shock or fire. For this reason, operation of devices with-
out a power plug must only be carried out by qualified specialists.
Make sure that the plug never leads upwards but always aside or downwards!
5.1.2 Installation of Konighaus P-, DL-Series, GSP 800 and GSP-1000:
Horizontal suspension:
1) Take the gauge board included in the delivery and attach it to the desired place on
the wall with the help of adhesive tape. Outline the apertures for boring and bore
holes on the four places outlined for the dowels provided.
2) Take the four plastic bolt pins (C) included in the delivery and place them on the four
screws (B) included in the delivery. They provide the safe distance between the
heating panel and the wall to avoid heat retention. There must be a little distance left
between the head of the screw and the plastic bolt pin so that the screw could be
fixed into the panel. The plastic bolt pins are respectively left in front of the suspen-
sion aperture (A) of the heating panel and provide the safe distance.
3) Bolt up the four screws (B) into the dowels / into the wall.
4) Take the heating panel and align it to the four screws (B). Carefully place the heating
panel into the four apertures (A) of the frame. After placing the heating panel into the
apertures (A), carefully align it to the right or to the left so that the heads of the
screws should be exactly behind the slots of the aperture.
5) Carefully check whether each screw lies in each aperture and you will be ready!

5.1.3 Installation of Konighaus M-, G-, GS- and SP-series
The mounting is necessary for the following devices:
M-300, -360, -450, -600, -800, -1000, -1200
GS-300, -450, -600
SP-300, -450, -600
If the infrared heating with remote control is connected to a fixed electrical in-
stallation, a magnetic separator of category of overvoltage III must be antici-
pated for full separation. These connection-related works may be executed
solely by a qualified specialist.

1) Bore four holes into the wall, corresponding to the fixing devices located from
the rear side and after that insert the dowels included in the equipment into the
holes, so that the same should be aligned with the surface of the wall.
2) After that the screws are bolted up into the holes so that they should slightly
protrude out of the wall.
3) Underslung the fixing devices of the heating panel onto the screws.
5.2 Positioning
Make sure that the far infrared heater is not obstructed by cabinets, sofa or other
objects and can radiate freely inside the room. The most efficient heating output is
obtained with horizontal wall mounting. Further to that the heaters must not be
mounted against glass.
If the far infrared heater is prevented from radiating effectively into the room, a
shadow effect is spoken about. To prevent this, contact your dealer to achieve opti-
mum positioning.
