The appliance is not suitable for vacuuming
dust which endangers health.
Caution
This unit is only to be used indoors.
–This vacuum cleaner is meant for dry
cleaning of floors and walls.
–This appliance is suited for the commer-
cial use, e.g. in hotels, schools, hospi-
tals, factories, shops, offices, and rental
companies.
–If you are wearing a pacemaker, we
recommend that you contact your phy-
sician or the manufacturer of the pace-
maker regarding possible cautions
before you operate this appliance.
–Not all pacemakers are radiation-proof
to emitted high frequency/electrical
magnetic fields in a close vicinity, which
could lead to problems while operating
this appliance.
–If your physician is not able to guaran-
tee its flawless operation, do not use
this appliance!
In addition to the information contained in
the operating instructions, all statutory
safety and accident prevention regulations
must be observed.

the batteries before carrying out any main-
tenance, service or repair jobs.
Tips about rechargeable battery and
charger
–You may recharge the battery using
only the original charger provided with
the appliance or a charger approved by
KÄRCHER.
–Check charger, mains cable and battery
pack for damages before every use. Do
not use damaged devices and get the
damaged parts repaired only by experts.
–Do not use the charger if dirty or wet.
–The mains voltage must match the volt-
age mentioned on the type plate of the
charger.
–Do not operate the charger in explosive
environment.
–Ensure that no metal pieces reach the
contacts of the adapter, else there will be
a short circuit.
–Use the charger only to charge ap-
proved battery packs.
–Insert only clean and dry battery packs
on the adapter of the charger.
–Do not charge batteries (primary cells);
risk of explosion.
–Do not charged damaged battery packs.
Replace damaged battery packs.
–Do not store battery pakcs along with
metal objects; risk of short circut.
–Do not dispose off battery packs by
throwing them into fire or into household
garbage.
–Avoid contact with liquids oozing out of
defective battery packs. Rinse thorough-
ly if you accidentally come in contact with
the fluid. Also consult a doctor if the fluid
comes in contact with your eyes.

The appliance can be operated in 2 ways:
1 Operation with fleece filter bag or paper
filter bag (option)
2 Operation without filter bag
Check whether main filter basket has
been inserted into the appliance.

Put appliance on your back.
Latch the closure and adjust the hip
belt.
Adjust the appliance to your body by
pulling on the middle tensioners. Do not
pull too tight, the main load should be
on the hip belt.
Adjust the position of the appliance on your
back by pulling on the end tensioners.
Insert the mains cable into the strain re-
lief clamp.
Insert the battery into the battery compart-
ment.
Turn the lock of the battery holder by 90°.

Note: Please read the operating instruc-
tions of the charger manufacturer, espe-
cially the chapters on safety instructions!
The battery is partially charged at the time
of delivery. Charge it before appliance star-
tup and then as and when required.
Note: The battery can be charged only
when it is removed out of the appliance.
Insert the charger delivered with the ap-
pliance into a proper socket.
Insert the battery in the charger.
Caution
Risk of damage! If the suction decreases,
immediately turn off the motor.
The appliance can be operated in 2 ways:
–Mains operation
–Battery operation
Note: If the power supply is assured for both the
operating types, the device automatically
switches over to mains operations.
Power supply through electrical connection.
Plug in the main plug.
Power supply from battery. Only one bat-
tery is required for operating the device.
–Appliance automatically shifts to the
charged battery mode.
–Appliance switches off.
–Mains operations are possible.
Note: We recommend that you operate the
appliance in the mains mode while cleaning
textile covering because of the high clean-
ing power that is required for such jobs.
Switch on the appliance at the main
switch.
Set the selection switch of the floor noz-
zle to hard surface or carpet.
Regulate the suction force on the suc-
tion force regulator (continuous).
Perform the cleaning operation.
Switch off the appliance at the main
switch.
Pull out the mains plug if necessary.
Use a moist cloth to clean the appli-
ance, the accessories and the cable af-
ter use.
Caution
Risk of injury and damage! Observe the
weight of the appliance when you transport it.
When transporting in vehicles, secure
the appliance according to the guide-
lines from slipping and tipping over.
Caution

of the appliance in case of storage.
This appliance must only be stored in inte-
rior rooms.

Danger
Turn the appliance off and disconnect the
mains plug or remove the batteries before
carrying out any tasks on the machine.
Release and remove the filter cover.
Remove the fleece filter bag or paper fil-
ter bag (option).
Pull a new fleece filter bag or paper filter
bag (option) with rubber flange over the
suction support (interior).
Insert and lock the filter cover.
Main filter basket (washable), clean it
under running water if necessary.
Caution
Risk of damage! Never insert the main filter
basket while wet.
Exhaust filter: Change once a year
Remove cover.
Unlock the filter housing and remove it.
Remove the exhaust filter from the filter
housing.
Insert new exhaust filter into filter housing.
Insert and click the filter housing into its
place.
Replace cover.
Release and remove the filter cover.
Remove the main filter basket.
Push the grids of the motor protection
filter down, turn and remove.
Remove the motor protection filter.
Insert the new motor protection filter.
Insert the grid of the motor protection fil-
ter and lock it into place.
Insert main filter basket.
Insert and lock the filter cover.
Danger
Turn the appliance off and disconnect the
mains plug or remove the batteries before
carrying out any tasks on the machine.
Note: In case of a failure (e.g. filter break-
age) the appliance must be turned off im-
mediately. The failure must be remedied
before the appliance is put into operation
again.

cooled off, after approx. 30 to 40 minutes.

or paper filter bag (option).
–Fleece filter bag or paper filter bag (op-
tion) possibly inserted wrong.
Check the fleece filter bag or paper filter
bag (option).
–Filter cover does not lock in properly.
Ensure the filter cover properly locks
into place.
–Main filter basket defective or not inserted.
Insert undamaged main filter basket.
–Motor protection filter not inserted or in-
serted incorrectly.
Reinsert motor protection filter correctly.
–Fleece filter bag or paper filter bag (op-
tion) is full.
Replace the fleece filter bag or paper fil-
ter bag (option).
–Main filter basket is dirty.
Clean the main filter under running water.
–Filter cover does not lock in properly.
Ensure the filter cover properly locks
into place.
–Nozzle, suction pipe or suction hose
may be blocked.
Remove the blockage.
–Defective suction hose.
Replace suction hose.
–Fleece filter bag or paper filter bag (op-
tion) is full.
Replace the fleece filter bag or paper fil-
ter bag (option).
–Filter cover does not lock in properly.
Ensure the filter cover properly locks
into place.
–Main filter basket or motor protection fil-
ter dirty.
Clean the main filter under running water.
Insert undamaged main filter basket.
Replace motor protection filter.
–No electrical voltage.
Check cables, plugs and socket.
–PCB overheated
Mains operations are possible.
Note: The appliance can be operated in
battery mode after the PCB has cooled
down.
–Batteries empty
Charge the batteries.
–No battery is inserted
Insert the battery.
–Power supply cable is faulty
Inform Customer Service
If malfunction can not be fixed, the de-
vice must be checked by customer serv-
ice.
