1. Hinweise zur Gebrauchsanweisung
Diese Gebrauchsanweisung gilt für alle Pumpsets der Reihen ECONOMY und
PREMIUM sowie für alle baugleichen Derivate für die Verwendung mit mamivac®
SENSITIVE, mamivac® SENSITIVE-C, mamivac® SENSITIVE-CFH und
mamivac® LACTIVE.

2. Aufbau und Bestandteile

Die patentierte Schutzmembran bietet besten Schutz und Sicherheit für Mutter
und Kind. Diese Membran riegelt die Muttermilchpumpe hermetisch ab. Mutter-
milch, Bakterien oder Keime können so weder die Schläuche noch die Pumpe
kontaminieren.
Sie können die mamivac®Milchpumpen wahlweise mit einem oder mit zwei
Pumpsets betreiben. Um Zeit zu sparen bietet es sich an, beide Brüste gleichzeitig
abzupumpen. Die Pumpzeit wird um ca. 50% reduziert. Damit bleibt der Mutter
mehr Zeit für Baby und Familie.
Beachten Sie dabei die Gebrauchsanweisung der Milchpumpe.
3. Zweckbestimmung
Pumpset zur Verwendung mit einer Muttermilchpumpe zum Abpumpen von
Muttermilch für stillende Mütter.
3.1 Indikation
mamivac®Pumpsets sollen zusammen mit mamivac®Milchpumpen eingesetzt
werden, um Muttermilch schonend und sanft abzupumpen und zu sammeln.
Stillprobleme können z.B. sein: Mastitis (Brustentzündung), anatomische Varianten
der Mamille (die ein Anlegen erschweren), schmerzhafte, wunde Mamille, zu
geringe Milchbildung, Milchüberschuss, Frühgeburten, Stoffwechselstörungen des
Säuglings, anatomische Fehlbildung beim Säugling im Gesichtsbereich,
vorübergehende Erkrankung der Mutter (z.B. Medikamenteneinnahme).
3.2 Kontraindikation
Im Allgemeinen kann die Einnahme von Medikamenten Auswirkungen auf das
Stillen des Säuglings haben. Entsprechende Hinweise sind im Beipackzettel des
Arzneimittelherstellers enthalten.
3.3 Nebenwirkung
Es kann in einzelnen Fällen zu Irritationen der Haut, wie Rötung oder roten
Flecken, kommen.

mamivac®Pumpsets dürfen nicht angewendet werden:
• zur Absaugung von anderen Körperflüssigkeiten wie Blut, Sekret oder Schleim
• zur Absaugung außerhalb des medizinischen Bereichs, wie ätzende, brennbare
oder explosive Flüssigkeiten
• bei anderen Lebewesen
4. Hygiene und Reinigung
Vor dem ersten Gebrauch kochen Sie bitte die Teile c) bis i) mind. 5 Min. in
kochendem Wasser aus oder geben Sie sie in ein Dampfdesinfektionsgerät,
z.B. einen Vaporisator. Bitte entsprechende Hinweise des Herstellers beachten.
• Bitte verwenden Sie keine chemischen Desinfektionsbäder, Lösungs- oder
Scheuermittel.
• Alle Teile, bis auf Luftschlauch und Schlauchanschluss, können mit handels-
üblichem Geschirrspülmittel von Hand oder in der Geschirrspülmaschine
gereinigt werden. Benutzen Sie evtl. eine Bürste, um an schwer zugängliche
Stellen zu gelangen.
• Vor jedem weiteren Gebrauch reinigen Sie die Teile, die mit Milch in Berührung
gekommen sind. Eine Reinigung des Luftschlauches und Schlauchanschlusses ist
nicht erforderlich. Diese Teile können feucht abgewischt werden.
• Nach dem Reinigen müssen Sie die Teile c) bis i) gründlich mit lauwarmem
Wasser abspülen. Dadurch entfernen Sie evtl. anhaftende Spülmittelreste,
insbesondere bei den Komponenten, die direkt mit der Muttermilch in Berüh-
rung kommen.
Bitte vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Membran vor dem Einbau
komplett trocken und unversehrt ist (keine Risse, Löcher o.ä.).
• Setzen Sie das Pumpset laut Zeichnung unter »Aufbau und Bestandteile«
zusammen.

5. Praktische Tipps
5.1 Allgemeine Hinweise
• Vor jedem Abpumpen die Hände gründlich mit Seife waschen und die Brust
mit einem feuchten Tuch abreiben. Austrocknungen und Risse der Brustwarzen
können Sie vermeiden, indem Sie keine Reinigungsmittel wie Seife oder Alkohol
verwenden.
• Bereiten Sie sich in aller Ruhe auf das Abpumpen vor. Setzen Sie sich bequem
und entspannt hin. Drücken Sie die Brustglocke leicht über die Brustwarze, so
dass diese dicht anliegt. Beginnen Sie mit dem Abpumpen.
• Die meisten Pumpen verfügen über einen Stimulationsmodus, der die
Milchbildung fördert. Zur Unterstützung können Sie zusätzlich mit der anderen
Hand die Brust massieren.
• Pumpen Sie abwechselnd an beiden Brüsten, sofern vom Arzt nichts anderes
verordnet ist. Da die Abpumpzeiten von Mutter zu Mutter unterschiedlich sind,
wenden Sie sich bitte ggf. an Ihre Hebamme oder Stillbeauftragte.
• Prüfen Sie das Produkt vor Anwendung auf äußerliche Beschädigungen und
Funktionstüchtigkeit. Bei Defekten oder Fehlfunktionen darf das Produkt nicht
weiter verwendet werden.
5.2 Aufbewahrung von Muttermilch
Muttermilch hält sich:
• frisch abgepumpt bei Zimmertemperatur (16°-29°C) 3-4 Stunden
• im hinteren Bereich des Kühlschranks (unter 4°C) 3 Tage
• im Gefrierschrank (-18 °C) 6 Monate
Dazu befüllen Sie die verwendeten Flaschen oder Gefäße nur zu 2/3 und
vermerken Sie das Abfülldatum. Anstatt einer Flasche können Sie auch unsere
speziell dafür entwickelten mamivac®Muttermilch-Gefrierbeutel [REF 282100
PZN (D) 1279777] verwenden. Tauen Sie die gefrorene Muttermilch nicht in der
Mikrowelle auf, sondern bei Raumtemperatur. Bei Bedarf stellen Sie die Flasche
oder den Beutel in warmes Wasser. Nach dem Auftauen schütteln Sie das Gefäß
oder den Beutel leicht durch, damit sich die Milch vermischt.

The patented protective diaphragm offers the best possible protection and safety
for mother and baby. This diaphragm hermetically shuts off the breast pump.
Breast milk, bacteria or germs cannot contaminate neither the tubes nor the
pump.
You can operate the mamivac®breast pumps either with one or two suction
kits. To save time, both breasts can be expressed at the same time reducing the
expressing time by about 50 %. This gives a mother more time for her baby and
family.
Observe the operating instructions of the breast pump.
3. Purpose
Suction kit to be used with a breast pump for breastfeeding mothers to express
breast milk.
3.1 Indication
mamivac®suction kits shall be used together with mamivac®breast pumps in
order to gently and softly express and collect breast milk. Breastfeeding problems
can be: Mastitis, anatomic variants of the mammilla (which make latching on
difficult), aching or sore mammilla, low or excessive lactation, premature delivery,
metabolic disorders of the infant, anatomic misformations of the infant in the
facial area, temporary illness of the mother (e.g. medication).
3.2 Contraindication
Taking medication in general may affect breastfeeding an infant. The patient infor-
mation leaflets of the pharmaceutical companies contain appropriate information.
3.3 Side effects
In individual cases, the skin may be irritated resulting in redness or red spots.

mamivac®suction kits may not be used:
• to suction other body fluids, such as blood, secretions or mucus
• to suction outside the medical field, such as corrosive, flammable or explosive
liquids.
• on other living things
4. Hygiene and cleaning
Before you use the suction kit for the first time, boil components c) to i) in boiling
water for at least 5 min. or use a steam disinfection device, like a sterilizer for
instance. Please observe the manufacturer's notices.
• Do not use chemical disinfection baths, solvents or abrasives.
• All parts of the suction kit, except for the air tube and the tube connection, can
be cleaned with commercial washing-up liquids by hand or in the dish washer.
You might use a brush to clean areas which are difficult to reach.
• Prior to using the kit the next time, clean the parts which came into contact
with milk. It is not necessary to clean the air tube and the tube connection. It is
sufficient to wipe off these parts with a damp cloth.
• After cleaning, rinse components c) to i) thoroughly with lukewarm water to
remove residues of the washing-up liquid, especially on those parts which come
into direct contact with breast milk.
Prior to assembling the pump, make sure that the diaphragm is
completely dry and undamaged (no cracks, holes, etc.).
• Assemble the suction kit according to the drawing in
»Layout and components«.

5. Practical tips
5.1 General notes
• Prior to expressing, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and wipe the breast
with a damp cloth. To avoid dry, soar or cracked nipples, do not use soap or
alcohol as detergent.
• Prepare yourself for the expressing with ease. Take a comfortable and relaxed
seat. Gently press the breast shield over the nipple for a tight contact. Start to
express milk.
• Most pumps have a stimulation mode to support milk production. You can also
use your free hand for an additional breast massage.
• Express from both breasts alternately, unless instructed otherwise by the
physician. Since expressing times strongly depend on the individual mother, you
are asked to contact your midwife or breastfeeding assistant.
• Prior to using the product, always check it for external damage and proper
working. Do not use the product in case of faults or faulty functions.
5.2 Storing breast milk
Breast milk can be stored as follows:
• Freshly expressed milk at room temperature (16 °-29°C) 3-4 hours
• In the rear of the fridge (below 4 °C) 3 days
• In the freezer (-18°C) 6 months
Fill the used bottles or containers to two thirds only and write down the fill date.
Instead of a bottle, you can also use our specially designed mamivac®breast milk
freezer bags [REF 282100]. Do not defrost frozen breast milk in the microwave,
but at room temperature. Place the bottle or bag in warm water as required. After
defrosting, gently shake the container or bag to mix the milk.
