these systems.
1.6 Basic knowledge required
a) To understandoperating instructions a general knowledge of automation
technologyis needed.
b) Knowledge of personal computers andthe Microsoft operating system is re-
quired to understand this operatinginstruction.
1.7 Proper use of the product

1.12.1 Installation according to the instructions
Commissioningthe device is prohibiteduntil it has been absolutelyensured
that the systemin whichthe device is to be installed complieswithall the
applicable EU andinternationalregulation.
1.12.2 Working on the control cabinet
Open equipment
The device is open equipment. This means, the C6 HMI / C6 HMI LC may only
be installed in housings orcabinets that can be operatedfromthe front. Ac-
cess to the cabinet in whichthe C6 HMI / C6 HMI LC is installed may onlybe
done with a key or tool bytrained andauthorised personnel.
Dangerous voltage
High voltage parts canbe exposedby openingthe cabinet.Before opening
the cabinet always disconnect the power.
1.13 Notes about usage
C6 HMI / C6 HMI LCis approved for indoor use only.
C6 HMI / C6 HMI LC maybe damaged if operated outdoors.

2.1 Product description
The C6 HMI familyis the HMI solutionwith RISCarchitecture that allows running
COMBIVIS studio HMI and COMBIVIS studio6 connect software platforms.
The C6 HMI LC familyis the HMI & Control solution that integrates the COMBIVIS
studio HMI visualization software andthe CONTROL Basic Runtime integrating in
one single product both the visualizationandthe process control part.
Based on ARM Cortex A8 processor a nd Microsoft Windows Embedded Compact 7
(C7P) operatingsystem, C6 HMI/C6 HMI LCare available in BASICor ADVANCED ver-
sion accordingto COMBIVISstudioHMI runtime installed. The CONTROL Runtime li-
cense "BASIC" is of one unique type andenables all the features atones except for
the CONTROL PRO Runtime whichis not supported.

In the C6 HMI / C6 HMI LC familythe systems with 5.7", 8.4", 10.4", 12.1", 15.0" dis-
play have a 4:3 aspect ratio, whereas the systems with 4.3", 7.0”W, 10.1”W, 12.1”W
and 15.6"W displayhave a aspect ratioof 15:9 or 16:9.
The 7.0" display provides 25% more surface than the smaller5.7" size.
