10. Place cover on top of fryer while heating oil.
1t. While the oil is preheating:
a. Prepare food for frying, making sure to remove excess moisture from
•food by blotting with paper toweling. Moist foods can cause excess
foaming, spattering, and overflow of oil.
b, Assemble basket handle(s) for frying. See numbers ! and 2 above.
c. Set basket(s) on countertop and fill up to 2/3 full with food. Always use
the large basket, even when you plan only to fill smaller basket with food,
When using the smaller basket, insert it into the large one, and interlock
the handles together so the two handles act as one. (see Fig. 2, page 6).
12.When the fryer reaches the selected temperature, il beeps 5 times and the
green light stays lit. The unit is now ready to cook.
13. Set the timer to seleCt the cook time. Do this by pressing the ^ and v buttons.

WARNING: To prevent the risk of severe personal injury or property
damage, use caution when cooking with hot oil.
9

CAUTION: It is normal for steam to escape from cover vents during
frying. To prevent steam burns, keep hands and face away from the vents,
t8. For French fries or other high moisture foods, immediately remove cover after
{owering basket(s) into oil. For crisper foods, fry without the cover.
19, Food shouid be golden brown, if cover is on, look through the viewing window
in the cover. If additional cooking time is needed, set the timer for additional time.
20. When food is done, lift basket handle(s) along with fryer cover and hook basket
onto the fryer rim to allow excess eli to drain from food. Remove cover.
21. Empty food onto absorbent paper. Season to taste.
22. If frying additional food, repeat steps 11c through 2I.
23, When all frying is completed, press and hold the "StardCancel" button for 2 to 3
seconds to turn off the unit, and unplug the cord from boththe wall outlet and
the deep fryer. Allow oil to cool completely before removing control assembiy
and before cleaning.
WARNING: ALWAYS press the "Start/Cancer' Button to turn unit OFF
before unplugging the unit from walt outlet. •
1. Never use the deep fryer without the removable enameled pan
inserted into the base.
2, Never use the deep fryer without sufficient oil. Also, never exceed the maximum
firi ;eveL The minimum and maximum fill levels are embossed inside the
removable pan.
3. Use only good quality cooking oi_in the deep fryer. Using olive oil is not
recommended because it has a fewer smoking temperature.
4. Do not use solid fat (shortening, butter, margarine or lard). Solid fat will not melt
uniformly and wit! cause severe smoking. In addition, solid fat will re-solidity once
it has cooied, making it very difficult to remove or insert the centre{ assembly.
5. Before deep frying, remove ice crystals and excess moisture from food by
blotting with paper toweling. Do not add wet food to cooking oil. Even small
amounts of moisture on foods causes excess foaming and/or spattering and
could cause the oil to overflow.
6, When the fryer is used for the first time, a slight odor or light smoking may occur
as manufacturing residue evaporates. This is normat during initial use.
I0

7. Fry foods of equal size and thickness, as they will fry more evenly and be cooked
in the same amount of time, To fry two different types of foods that take different
amounts of cooking time, use the smaller basket for the shorter cook time and
put the food that will take more time in the large basket. When the food in the
smaller basket is done, take out that basket and leave the other one in longer.
8.
9.
Do not fifl the basket more than 2/3 full. tf too much food is put in fryer at once,
the food wil! not get crisp.
For crisper foods, fry without the cover. Use the cover when immersing baskets
in oil, then remove.
10. For breading or coating foods, use commercial breading, finely ground bread or
cracker crumbs, corn meal, a mixture of corn meal and flour, pancake mix, or
prepared bread mixes.
11. Always fry foods with baskets.
i2. Use only metal cooking utensils in the fryer. Plastic or rubber wilt become
damaged from the hot oil, Do not leave metal utensils in the fryer as they wil!
become hot.
13.
14.
During the preheating or cooking cycle, the temperature is not adjustable.
You have to press"Start/Cancel" button to stop the current setting firstly, and
then adjust temperature by pressing the "Set Temp" button to the desired setting.
Use caution when deep frying flour tortillas. Flour tortillas contain air pockets.
Dudng deep frying, oil can become trapped within these pockets. If not properly
drained, the pockets can burst and cause bums. For this reason, after deep
frying tortillas, carefully raise them out of the cooking oil and allow oil to drain
from the tortillas for about 30 seconds.
15. After each use, strain oil through a filter or a double thickness of cheesecloth to
remove the accumulated food residue.
16. The number of times the cooking oil can be reused wilt depend on the type of
food being fried. For example, the oil will need to be replaced more often if fish
or food coated with bread or cracker crumbs is fried frequently.
17.
t8.
*Thelonger oil is heated, the more rapidly it deteriorates. Avoid preheating longer
than necessary and turn off the fryer once the last batch of food has been removed.
To prolong the useful life of oit, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dark
area or in the refrigerator.
19. It is time to replace the oil if:
The oil is dark in color.
The oil has an unpleasant odor.
The oil smokes when it is heated.
The oil foams excessively during frying.
20. Always use the handles on the base when lifting or moving the appliance.
NEVER lift or move the appliance by using the control assembly,
11

1.
3,
After fryer and oil have cooled completely, carefully lift control assembly out of
fryer and wipe with a damp cloth to clean. NEVER immerse the controt assembly
in water or wash in a dishwasher.
Carefully lift pot of cooled oil out of base. If you plan to reuse the cooking oil,
it is recommended that you strain the Oil to remove any food particles. Store the
oil in a tightly sealed container and keep where it will not be exposed to air or
direct light.
Wash the removable pan, frying basket(s), fryer cover, and base in dishwasher
or in warm, sudsy water.
Do not use steel wool scouring pads o[ abrasive kitchen cleansers on the
removable pan, cover or base and do not use bleaching agents to clean the
frying baskets.
If desired, the basket handles may be removed for cleaning. The handle is
force-fitted around the "LOCK" plate. To remove, pull the handle forward into
the basket. Squeeze together the handle bars so the pegs on the bottom come
out of the toops on the side of the basket (see Fig 3, pg. 6).
After cleaning, reattach handle, making sure both pegs are in loops on basket.
Instead of pushing handle bars up and force-fitting around "LOCK" plate, leave
the handles in the forward position down in the basket for storage,
f
4.
5.
6.
NOTE: Your fryer has a grease filter in the cover. The filter does not need
replacing.
To clean the permanent grease filter, lift out of cover and wash in hot sudsy water,
or in dishwasher, A soft bristled brush is recommended. Keep the 1-ply layers
inside the filter holder when cleaning.
Before reassembling unit, make sure afl parts are completely dry.
Always check magnetic plug before use to assure no metal items have become
attached to the magnet.
