the grill.
• Failure to follow the provided instruction can result in

• Use grill, as purchased, only with LP (propane) gas and
the regulator/valve assembly supplied.
• Grill installation must conform with local codes, or in
their absence of local codes, with either the National
Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54, Natural Gas
and Propane Installation Code, CSA B149.1, or Propane
Storage and Handling Code, B149.2, or the Standard for
Recreational Vehicles, ANSI A 119.2/NFPA 1192, and
CSA Z240 RV Series, Recreational Vehicle Code, as
applicable.
• All electrical accessories (such as rotisserie) must be
electrically grounded in accordance with local codes, or
National Electrical Code, ANSI / NFPA 70 or Canadian
Electrical Code, CSA C22.1. Keep any electrical cords
and/or fuel supply hoses away from any hot surfaces.
• This grill is safety certified for use in the United States
and/or Canada only. Do not modify for use in any other

Kenmore One Year Limited Warranty
When installed, operated and maintained accordinq to all
supplied instructions it this appliance fails due to a defect in
material and workmanship within o_e year from the date of
purchase, call 1-800-4-MY-HOME to arrange for free
repair or replacement if repair isunavailable.
For five years from the date of purchase,any burner that rusts
throuqh will be replaced free of charge. After the first year
from the date of purchase, you are responsible for the labor
cost to have it installed.
All warranty coveraqe excludes ignitor batteries and grill
part paint loss,discoloration or surtace rusting,which are
either expendable parts that can wear out from normal use
within the warranty period or are conditions that can be the
result of normal use,accident or improper maintenance.
All warranty coverage isvoid if this product isever used
for other than private household purposes.
This warranty covers ONLY defects in material
and workmanship. Sears will NOT pay for:

• NEVER store a spare LP cylinder under or near the
appliance or in an enclosed area.
• Never fill a cylinder beyond 80% full.
• If the information in the two points above is not
Followed exactly, a fire causing death or serious injury

• An overfilled or improperly stored cylinder is a hazard
due to possible gas release from the safety relief valve.
This could cause an intense fire with risk of property
damage, serious injury or death.
• If you see, smell or hear gas escaping, immediately
get away from the LPcylinder and appliance and call

LP Cylinder
• The LPcylinder used with your grill must meet the following
requirements:
• Use LPcylinders only with these required measurements: 12"
(30.5cm) (diameter) x 18"(45.7 cm) (tall) with 20 lb. (9 kg.)
Capacity maximum.
LPcylinders must be constructed and marked in accordance
with specifications for LPcylinders of the U.S.Department of
Transportation (DOT) or for Canada, CANiCSA-B339,
cylinders, spheres and tubes for transportation of dangerous
goods. Transport Canada (TC). See LPcylinder collar for
marking.
LPcylinder valve must have:
Type I outlet compatible with
regulator or grill.
Safety relief valve. OPD Hand Wheel
UL listed Overfill Protection Device (OPD). This OPD safety
feature isidentified by a unique triangular hand wheel. Use
only LP cylinders equipped with this type of valve.
LPcylinder must be arranged for vapor withdrawal and include
collar to protect LPcylinder valve. Always keep LPcylinders in
upright position during use,transit or storage.
LP Tank Removal, Transport And Storage
TurnOFFall control knobsand LPtank valve. Turncoupling
nutcounterclockwise by handonly - do not usetools to
disconnect. LiftLPtank wire upward off of LPtank collar,
then lift LPtank up and off of support bracket. Installsafety
cap onto LPtank valve. Always usecap and strap supplied
with valve.
Failure to use safety cap as directed may result in
serious personal injury and/or property damage.

A disconnected LPtank in storage or being transported
musthave a safety cap installed (asshown). Do notstore
an LPtank in enclosed spaces suchasa carport, garage,
porch, covered patio or other building. Never leave an LP
tank insidea vehiclewhich may become overheated by
the sun.
Do not store an LPtank in an area where children play.
LPcylinder in upright position for vapor withdrawal
LP (Liquefied Petroleum Gas)
LPgas isnontoxic, odorless and colorless when produced. For
Your Safety, LPgas has been given an odor (similar to rotten
cabbage) so that it can be smelled.
LPgas ishighly flammable and may ignite unexpectedly when
mixed with air.
LP Cylinder Filling
Use only licensed and experienced dealers.
LPdealer must purge new cylinder before filling.
Dealer should NEVER fill LPcylinder more than 80% of LP
cylinder volume. Volume of propane in cylinder will vary by
temperature.
A frosty regulator indicates gas overfill. Immediately close LP
cylinder valve and call local LPgas dealer for assistance.
Do not release liquid propane (LP)gas into the atmosphere.
This isa hazardous practice.
To remove gas from LPcylinder, contact an LPdealer or call a
local fire department for assistance. Check the telephone
directory under "Gas Companies" for nearest certified LP
dealers.

LP Tank Exchange
• Many retailers that sell grills offer you the option of replacing
your empty LPtank through an exchange service. Use only
those reputable exchange companies that inspect, precision fill,
test and certify their cylinders. Exchange your tank only for
an OPD safety feature-equipped tank as described in the
"LP Tank" section of this manual.
Always keep new and exchanged LPtanks in upright position
during use,transit or storage.
Leak test new and exchanged LPtanks BEFORE
connecting to grill.
Connecting Regulator To The LP Tank
1. LPtank must be properly secured onto grill. (Refer to assembly
section.)
2. Turn all control knobs to the OFF position.
3. Turn LPtank OFF by turning OPD hand wheel clockwise to a full
stop.
4. Remove the protective cap from LPtank valve. Always usecap
and strap supplied with valve.
LP Tank Leak Test
For your safety
Leaktest must be repeated each time LPtank isexchanged
refilled.
Do not smoke during leak test.
Do not usean open flame to check for gas leaks.
Grill mustbe leak tested outdoors in a well-ventilated area,
away from ignition sources such asgas fired or electrical
appliances. During leak test, keep grill away from open flan
or sparks.
Use a clean paintbrush and a 50/50 mild soap and water
solution. Brushsoapy solution onto areas indicated by arrows in
figure below. Leaksare indicated by growing bubbles.
If "growing" bubbles appear do not use or move the LP
tank. Contact an LP gas supplier or your fire department!
A Do not use household cleaning agents. Damage to the gas
train components (valve/hose/regulator) can result.

Turn all grill control knobs to OFF.
Besure regulator istightly connected to LPtank.
Completely open LPtank valve by turning OPD hand wheel
counterclockwise. If you hear a rushing sound, turn gas oF[
immediately. There isa major leak at the connection. Correct
before proceeding by calling Sears for replacement parts at
1-800-4-MY-HOME ®.
4. Brushsoapy solution onto areas where bubbles are shown in
picture below:
6. Turn the coupling nut clockwise and tighten to a full stop. The
regulator will seal on the back-check feature in the LPtank
valve, resulting in some resistance. An additional one-half to
three-quarters turn is required to complete the connection.
Tighten by hand only - do not use tools.
NOTE:
If you cannot complete the connection, disconnect regulator and
repeat steps 5 and 6. Ifyou are still unable to complete the
connection, do not usethis regulator!

Never remove threaded
orifice at end of valve.
•Do not insert any tool or foreign object into the valve
outlet or safety relief valve. You may damage the valve
and cause a leak. Leaking propane may result in
explosion, fire, severe personal injury, or death.

valve immediately and retighten connections. If leaks cannot be
stopped do not try to repair. Call for replacement parts at
1-800-4-MY-HOME ®.
6. Always close LPtank valve after performing leak test by turning
hand wheel clockwise.
Outdoor gas appliance isnot intended to be installed
in or on a boat.
Outdoor gas appliance isnot intended to be installed
in or on an RV.
Never attempt to attach thisgrill to the self-contained
LPgas system of a camper trailer or motor home.
Do not usegrill until leak-tested.
If a leak isdetected at any time, STOP and call
the fire department.
If you cannot stop a gas leak, immediately close LP
cylinder valve and call LPgas supplier or your fire
department!

CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD
• Burning charcoal gives off carbon monoxide,
which has no odor and can cause death.
DO NOT burn charcoal inside homes,
vehicles, tents, garages or any enclosed
areas.
Use only outdoors where it is well ventilated.

ForSafeUseof YourGrill andto Avoid Serious
Injury:
•Do not let children operate or play near grill.
•Keep grill area clear and free from materials that
burn.
•Do not block holes in sides or back of grill.
•Use grill only in well-ventilated space. NEVER use
in enclosed space such as carport, garage,
porch, covered patio, or under an overhead
structure of any kind.
•Do not use charcoal or ceramic briquets in a gas
grill.
•Use grill at least 3 ft. from any wall or
surface.
Maintain 10 ft. clearance to objects that can
catch fire, or to sources of ignition such as pilot
lights on water heaters, live electrical appliances,
etc.
•Apartment Dwellers:
Check with management to learn the
requirements and fire codes for using an LPgas
grill in your apartment complex. If allowed, use
outside on the ground floor with a three (3) foot
clearance from walls or rails. Do not use on or
under balconies.
•NEVER attempt to light burner with lid closed. A
buildup of non-ignited gas inside a closed grill is
hazardous.
•Never operate grill with LPcylinder out of
correct position specified in assembly instructions.
•Always close LPcylinder valve and remove
coupling nut before moving LPcylinder from
specified operation position.
• Charcoal grill
•Do not remove adjustable charcoal pan while
ashes and charcoal are HOT.
•Air dampers are HOT while the grill is in use and
during cooling; wear protective gloves when
adjusting.
• Never overfill charcoal pan. This can cause
serious injury as well as damage the unit.
•Only use charcoal lighting fluid; NEVER use
gasoline, alcohol or other highly volatile
fluids to ignite the charcoal. These fluids can
explode causing injury or death.
Safety Tips
ABefore opening LPcylinder valve, check the coupling nutfor tightness.
AWhen grill isnot in use,turnoff all control knobs and LPcylinder valve.
ANever move grill while in operation or still hot.
AUse long handled barbecue utensilsand oven mittsto avoid burnsand
splatters.
AMaximum load for sideburner and side shelfis10Ibs.
AThe grease tray must beinserted into grill and emptied after each use.Do
not remove grease tray untilgrill has completely cooled.
AClean grill often, preferably after each cookout. If a bristle brush isusedto
dean any of the grill cooking surfaces,ensureno loose bristles remain on
cooking surfacesprior to grilling. It isnot recommended to dean cooking
surfaces while grill is hot.
Alf you notice grease or other hot material dripping from grill, determine the
cause, correct it, then clean and inspect valve. Keep ventilation openings in
cylinder enclosure (grill cart) free and clear of debris.
ADo notstore objects or materials insidethe grill cart enclosure that would
block theflow of combustion air to theunderside of either thecontrol panel
or the firebox bowl.
AThe regulator may make a hummingor whistling noiseduring operation. This
will not affect safety or useof grill
Aif you have a grill problem see the"Troubleshooting Section".
AIf the regulator frosts,turnoff grill and LPcylinder valve immediately. This
indicates a problem with thecylinder and it should not be used on any
product. Returnto supplier!
AFor appliances designed to usea CGA791Connection: "Place dust cap on
cylinder valve outlet whenever the cylinder isnot in use.Only install thetype
of dust cap on thecylinder valve outlet that is provided with the cylinder
valve. Other types of caps or plugs may result in leakage of propane.
CAUTION
•Putting out grease fires by closing the lid is not
possible. Grills are well ventilated for safety
reasons.
•Do not use water on a grease fire. Personal injury
may result. If a grease fire develops, turn knobs
and LPcylinder off.
•Do not leave grill unattended while preheating or
burning off food residue on HI. If grill has not
been regularly cleaned, a grease fire can occur
that may damage the product.
Main Burner Igniter Lighting
ADo not lean over grill while lighting.
1.Open lid during lighting.
2.Turn on valve from source or tank.
3.To ignite, turn Ignition Burner knob to HI.
4. Pushand hold electronic ignition button. You will hear a clicking
sound from the electrodes.
5. If ignition does not occur in 5 seconds, turn the burner controls
OFF, wait 5 minutes,and repeat the lighting procedure.
6.To ignite any other Main Burner, turn knob to HI.
7.To ignite the Side Burner, follow steps 3-5 usingthe Side Burner
knob.
If igniter does not work, follow Match Lighting instructions.

Turncontrols and gas source or tank OFF when not in use.
CAUTION
If ignition does not occur in 5 seconds, turn the burner
controls OFF, wait 5 minutesand repeat the lighting
procedure. If the burner does not ignite with the valve
open, gas will continue to flow out of the burner and
could ignite with risk of injury.
Match Lighting
ADo not lean over grill while lighting.
1.Open lid during lighting.
2. Place match into match holder (hanging on right front leg). Light
match, place into lighting hole on left side of firebox.
3. Turn right knob to HI position. Be sure burner lights and stay lit.
4. Lightother burners follow with step 3.
Sideburner Match Lighting
1.Open sideburner lid. Turn on gas at LPcylinder.
2. Place lit match near burner.
3.Turn sideburner knob to HI. Be sure burner lights and stays lit.

Burner Flame Check
Remove cooking grates and heat diffusers, Light burners,turn
knobs from HI to LO. You should see a smaller flame in LO
position than seenon HI. Perform burner flame check on
sideburner, also. Always check flame prior to each use. If only
low flame isseen refer to "Sudden flame drop or low flame" in
the Troubleshooting Section. HI

Turning Grill Off
"Turn all knobs to OFF position. Turn LPcylinder off by turning
Igniter Check
•Turn gas off at LPcylinder. Pressand hold electronic igniter
button. "Click" should be heard and spark seeneach time
between collector box or burner and electrode. See
"Troubleshooting" if no click or spark.
Valve Check
•Important: Make sure gas isoF[at LPcylinder before checking
valves. Knobs lock in OFF position. To check valves, first pushin
knobs and release, knobs should spring back. If knobs do not
spring back, replace valve assembly before using grill. Turn
knobs to LOW position then turn back to OFF position. Valves
should turn smoothly.
Hose Check
•Before each use,check to see if hoses are cut or worn. Replace
damaged hoses before usinggrill. Use only
valve/hose/regulator as specified in the parts list of this Use &
Care Guide.
General Grill Cleaning
•Do not mistake brown or black accumulation of grease and
smoke for paint. Interiors of gas grills are not painted at the
factory (and should never be painted). Apply a strong
solution of detergent and water or use a grill cleaner with scrub
brush on insides of grill lid and bottom. Rinseand allow to
completely air dry. Do not apply a caustic grill/oven
cleaner to painted surfaces.
•Porcelain surfaces: Because of glass-like composition, most
residue can be wiped away with baking soda/water solution
or specially formulated cleaner. Use nonabrasive scouring
powder for stubborn stains.
•Painted surfaces: Wash with mild detergent or nonabrasive
cleaner and warm soapy water. Wipe dry with a soft
n.onabrasive cloth.
•Stainless steel surfaces: To maintain your grilFs high quality
appearance, wash with mild detergent and warm soapy water
and wipe dry with a soft cloth after each use. Baked-on grease
deposits may require the useof an abrasive plastic cleaning
pad. Use only in direction of brushed finishto avoid damage.
Do not useabrasive pad on areas with graphics.
•Cooking surfaces: If a bristle brush is usedto clean any of the
grill cooking surfaces, ensure no loose bristles remain on
cooking surfaces prior to grilling. It is not recommended to
clean cooking surfaces while grill ishot.

Ifyounoticethatyourgrillisgettinghardtolightorthatthe
flameisn'tasstrongasitshouldbe,takethetimetocheck
andcleantheventuri's.
Spidersorsmallinsectshavebeenknowntocreate
"flashback'_problems.Thespidersspinwebs,buildnestsand
layeggsinthegrill'sventuritube(s)obstructingtheflowof
gastotheburner.Thebacked-upgascanigniteintheventuri
behindthecontrolpanel.Thisisknownasaflashbackandit
candamageyourgrillandevencauseinjury.
Topreventflashbacksandensuregoodperformancethe
burnerandventuriassemblyshouldberemovedfromthegrill
andcleanedbeforeusewheneverthegrillhasbeenidlefor
anextendedperiod.
Storing Your Grill
• Clean cooking grates.
Store in dry location.
When LPcylinder isconnected to grill, store outdoors in a
well-ventilated space and out of reach of children.
Cover grill if stored outdoors. Choose from a variety of grill
covers offered by manufacturer once available.
Store grill indoors ONLY if LPcylinder isturned off and
disconnected, remove from grill and stored outdoors.
When removing grill from storage, follow "Cleaning the Burner
Assembly'_instructions before starting grill.
Cleaning the Burner Assembly
Follow these instructions to clean and/or replace parts of burner
assembly or if you have trouble igniting grill.
1.Turn gas off at control knobs and LPcylinder.
2. Remove cooking grates and heat diffusers.
3. Remove screws and nuts from rear of burners
4. Remove screw and nut from igniter pin and put igniter pin on
the side.
5. Carefully lift each burner up and away from gas valve orifice.
We suggest three ways to clean the burner tubes. Use the one
easiest for you.
(A) Bend a stiff wire (a light weight coat hanger works well)
into a small hook. Runthe hook through each burner tube
several times.
(B) Use a narrow bottle brush with a flexible handle (do not
usea brass wire brush), run the brush through each burner
tube several times.
(C) Wear eye protection: Use an air hose to force air into the
burner tube and out the burner ports. Check each port to
make sureair comes out each hole.
6. Wire brush entire outer surface of burner to remove food
residue and dirt.
7. Clean any blocked ports with a stiff wire such as an open
paper clip.
8. Check burner for damage, due to normal wear and corrosion
some holes may become enlarged. If any large cracks or holes
are found replace burner.

Indirect Cooking
Poultry and large cutsof meat cook slowly to perfection on the
grill by indirect heat. Place food over unlit burner(s); the heat
from lit burners circulates gently throughout the grill, cooking
meat or poultry without the touch of a direct flame. This method
greatly reduces flare-ups when cooking extra fatty cuts because
there is no direct flame to ignite the fats and juices that drip
during cooking. Read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before
assembling and operating your grill. Charcoal grill lid
and handle can become HOT when in used.
1 Burner Cooking
Cook with direct or indirect heat.
Bestfor smaller meals or foods.
Consumes lessfuel.
Indirect Cooking Instructions
° Always cook with the lid closed.
° Dueto weather conditions, cooking times may vary. During
cold and windy conditions the temperature setting may need to
be increased to insure sufficient cooking temperature.
° Place food over over unlit burner(s).
GRILL PREPARATION
The grill firebox interiors are porcelain coated or painted. Do not
remove or scratch the coatings.
Prior to first cooking use,"cure" both the gas and charcoal grill
according to the following instructions."Curing" will protect the
firebox interior finishesand prevent distasteful flavors in your first
grilled foods.
To Cure Grills:
Charcoal Grill: Build a medium-sized fire on the fire grate. After
coals ashover, spread them out and insertcooking grates.
Gas Grill: With cooking grates inserted, Ignite flame on all
burners.
Both Grills: Close lid and heat at 250°F (120°C) for 30 minutes.
The grills,will then be "cured" and ready for subsequent use.
2 Burner Cooking
Great indirect cooking on low.
Produces slow, even heating.
Ideal for slow roasting and baking.
Charcoal lighting instructions (Read all instruction and
warning on charcoal bag and in manual before using.)
1.Stack briquets in a pyramid.
2.Add lighter fluid following directions on fluid container. Before
lighting, place lighter fluid at least 25 ft. (7.5m) away from grill.
Do not lean over grill when lighting charcoal.
3.Light charcoal. LEAVEGRILLUNCOVERED.
4. Inabout 15minutes,flames will die out and briquets will begin
to ashover. Once the briquets are completely ashed over,
spread briquets in a single layer and begin cooking.
WARNING
° Never usegasoline to light charcoal.
° Overfilling charcoal pan can cause seriousinjury and damage
the unit.
° Never add additional lighter fluid once charcoal hasignited.
° Hot coals should not be left unattended.
° Grill ishot. Use protective gloves and long, sturdy cooking
utensils.
CHARCOAL GRILL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.Starting Fire
- Stack no more than 2.5 pounds of charcoal briquettes in a
pyramid shape and saturate with lighter fluid (NEVERUSE
GASOLINE!).
- Lightbriquette coals in several places. After they ash over
and turn gray, use metal tongs to spread them out and start
cooking.
- If one side of fire burns faster than other, usetongs to move
coals around for more even heating.
2.Heat Control
Control heat with amount and type of fuel, air dampers (lidand
firebox) and adjustable charcoal pan.
- Fueltype: Wood burnshotter than charcoal.
- Air dampers: More air creates more heat
- Charcoal pan: Adjust pan one end at a time. The closer the
pan isto the cooking grates, the hotter the cooking
temperature will be.
Note: Smoke will escape through areas other than the lid air
damper. This escaping smoke will not affect the
cooking process.

WARNING: ALWAYS follow charcoal and lighter fluid
manufacturer instructions and warnings. Only usegrill outdoors
and only on a noncombustible surface that is at least 3 feet
away from any adjacent wall or surface.
3. Cooking Tips
- For less flare-ups, cook with the lid in the down position.
- Add water-soaked hardwood chips to fuel for a smoked
flavor to food.
- Do not use self-starting charcoal as it will impart an unnatural
flavor to food. Also, burn off lighter fluid completely before
closing grill lid.
4. Grill Maintenance
This grill is made of steel and cast iron, which will RUST,
especially if not properly cared for.
- Clean ashes from charcoal pan and ash plate after you are
finished cooking. Ashes left in bottom too long hold moisture
and will rustthrough any thickness of steel.
- Be sureto empty grease cup after every use,but only after it
has completely cooled.
- The temperature gauges on the grill lids may mist over after
cooking, but the mist will steam out during cooking.
- You may fill unused holes inthe grill with nuts or bolts (not
provided).
- Maintenance instructions (including recommended frequency
guidelines) relative to:
(a) Keeping outdoor cooking gas appliance area clear and
free from combustible materials, gasoline and other
flammable vapors and liquids.
(b) Not obstructing the flow of combustion and ventilation
air.
(c) Keeping the ventilation opening (s) of the cylinder
enclosure free and clear from debris.
(d) Visually checking burner flames including pilot burner
flame if provided, with pictorial representations.
(e) Cleaning outdoor cooking gas appliance, including
special surfaces, with recommended cleaning agents,
if necessary.
(f) Checking and cleaning burner/venturi tubes for insects
and insect nests.A clogged tube can lead to a fire
beneath the grill.
Food Safety
Food safety is a very important part of enjoying the outdoor
cooking experience. To keep food safe from harmful bacteria,
follow these four basic steps:
Clean: Wash hands, utensils, and surfaces with hot soapy water
before and after handling raw meat and poultry.
Separate: Separate raw meats and poultry from ready-to-eat
foods to avoid cross contamination. Use a clean platter and
utensils when removing cooked foods.
Cook: Cook meat and poultry thoroughly to kill bacteria. Use a
thermometer to ensure proper internal food temperatures.
Chill: Refrigerate prepared foods and leftovers promptly. For

How To Tell If Meat Is Grilled Thoroughly
•Meat and poultry cooked on a grill often browns very fast on
the outside. Use a meat thermometer to be surefood has
reached a safe internal temperature, and cut into food to check
for visual signsof doneness.
•Whole poultry should reach 180° F;breasts, 170° F.Juices
should run clear and flesh should not be pink.
•Hamburgers made of any ground meat or poultry should reach
160° F,and be brown in the middle with no pinkjuices Beef,
veal and lamb steaks, roasts and chops can be cooked to 145°
F.All cuts of pork should reach 160° F.
•NEVERpartially grill meat or poultry and finishcooking later.
Cook food completely to destroy harmful bacteria.
•When reheating takeout foods or fully cooked meats like hot
dogs, grill to 165° F,or until steaming hot.

Step 4: Wheels
• Insert axle through holes on the two right legs as shown in the figure below. Slide each wheel and
axle sleeve onto axle with hub facing in, and secure using (1) cotter pin.
Step 5: Cart side brackets
• Attach each cart bracket to legs with (4) M6×12 screws as shown in figures A, B and C below.

• Secure side handle to the left cart with (4) M6×12 screws.

• Attach rear bracket onto the right-back leg and side handle with (4) M6×12 screws. Make sure the
section between the hole and the left side of the cart is the shorter section.
• Attach front bracket onto the left-front leg and right-front leg with (4) M6×12 screws. Make sure the
section between the hole and the left side of the cart is the shorter section.

Step8: Mid legs
Q Pay close attention when assembling mid leg, the mid-rear leg is longer than mid-front leg.
Q Attach Mid-rear leg onto the mid-rear of cart with (2) M6×12 screws.
