Unpacking
Unpack the unit carefully and make sure tnat all accessories are put asiae so tfiey will not
be 'osi.

Safety precautions
*AC voltage selection
The AC voltage selector switch on the rear panel is set to the

Before connecting tne oow'or cord to your AC outlet, make

voltage, if not, it must be set to your voltage in accordance

System connections

■ Using the KM-996 as the amplifier for the second sets of speakers of
KA-996
Make connections as shown below. When connecting the related system components, refer also to the Instruction
manuals of the related components.
Do not plug in the power lead until all connections are completed.
• This connection is not available with the KM-896.

If the speakers shown in "Connection B" are also
connected, either set of speakers can be used by

Switch the power on.

In case of difficulty
What appears to be a malfunction may not always be serious. If your unit should not perform as expected, consult the table
below to see if the problem can be corrected before seeking help from your dealer or service representative.

• The BALANCE control is set to an

• Connect it properly referring to

• Adjust the Lett/Right balance. {KA-

Notes:
Do not use contact cleaners because it could cause a malfunction. Be specially wary of contact cleaners containing oil. for they may
deform the plastic components,
