Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW)*7
TheBCWsystemusesradarsensorstohelpalertthedriverincertainsituations,suchasifit
detectsanapproachingvehicleinthedriver’sblindspotbeforechanginglanes.Thelightonthe
BCWbutton AwillilluminatewhenturnedON.Theoutsiderearviewmirrorwarninglightswill
alsoilluminateforthreeseconds.
Thesystemwillbecomeactivewhenthevehicleistravelingmorethanapproximately20mph
andwillalertthedriverifanothervehicleisdetectedbytheradarsensor.
1st-stage alert:WhenanothervehicleisdetectedwithintheBCWsystemboundary Borwhen
avehicleisdetectedapproachingatahighspeedwithintheboundary C,ayellowindicatorwill
illuminateontheoutsiderearviewmirrors.
2nd-stage alert:When1st-stagealertisonandthedriveractivatesaturnsignal,aflashing
yellowindicatorwillilluminateontheoutsiderearviewmirrorsandthesystemwillsoundanalert.
Reminders:
•TheBCWsystemwillonlyshowawarningifthevehiclespeedismorethan6mphabovethe
surroundingvehicles.
•IftheBCWisturnedOFFandtheignitioniscycled,theBCWsystemreturnstoON.
Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)*7
WiththeEngineStart/StopbuttonintheONposition,presstheLKAbutton Atoturnthesystem
ON.Theinstrumentclusterindicator willinitiallyilluminatewhite.Itwillremainwhitewhen
thevehicleistravelinglessthan40mphorthesystemdoesnotdetectthelanemarkers.Whenthe
LKAsystemdetectsthelanemarkersandcanassistthesteering,theLKAiconwillilluminategreen.
IftheLKAdetectsthatyouaremovingoutsideofyourlane,thesystemmaygiveanaudible
warninganddisplayanLDW(LaneDepartureWarning)alertontheinstrumentcluster.Ifthe
vehiclecontinuestomoveoutsideofthelane,theLKAwillapplyaslightadjustmenttothe
steering,tryingtopreventthevehiclefrommovingoutsideitslane.
WiththesystemON,LKAisthedefaultmode.Toswitchbetweenmodes(LaneKeepingAssist,
ActiveLKA,andLaneDeparture),gotoUserSettingsintheinstrumentcluster.
All systems will operate under the following conditions:
•Thevehicleexceedsapproximately40mph.
•TheLKAsystemrecognizesbothsidesofthelanemarkersthevehicleistravelingin.
•Thevehicleisbetweenthelanemarkers.
Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go System*7
TheSCCsystemisdesignedtomaintainapredetermineddistancefromvehiclesdetected
aheadbyautomaticallyadjustingthedrivingspeedasneeded.Whentrafficisdetected,the
vehiclewillautomaticallyslowtomaintainasetdistancebetweentrafficwithoutdepressing
theacceleratororbrakepedal.
WiththeSCConandactivatedandthevehicledistanceset,whenthesystemdetectsavehicle
slowingorstopping,itcanbringthevehicletoacompletestop.Whenthevehicleaheadstarts
tomoveforward,theSCCsystemre-engages.Ifthevehicleaheadstopsformorethanthree
seconds,theacceleratorpedalortheRES+buttonmustbepressedtostartmovingthevehicle.
Onsomemodels,presstheCRUISEbutton Aonthesteeringwheeltoactivateandthespeed
willbesettothecurrentvehiclespeed.SCCmaydecreasethespeedtomaintainthedistance
withthevehicleinfront.
To set/adjust the SCC speed:
•PushtheCRUISEbutton AtoturnthesystemONandsetthecurrentspeed(One-TouchSet).
Thecruiseindicatorwillilluminateontheinstrumentcluster.
•Accelerate/deceleratetothedesiredspeedandpressleverBdowntosetthespeed.
•PresstheRES+/SET-(+/-)button Bup/downtoincrease/decreasethesetspeed.
•TheSETindicatorlight,setspeedandvehicledistancewillilluminateontheinstrument
cluster’sLCDscreenC.
To set the vehicle distance:PresstheVehicleDistancebuttonDonthesteeringwheel.The
imageontheLCDscreenCwillchangewhenscrollingthroughthesettings.Eachtimethe
buttonispressed,thevehicledistancechanges.
To cancel or pause SCC operation:PresstheCANCELorpausebuttonB.Thecruiseindicator
ontheinstrumentclusterwillturnOFF.
To turn SCC OFF: PresstheCRUISEbutton A.Thecruiseindicatorontheinstrumentclusterwill
turnOFF.
To adjust the sensitivity of the SCC system: Pressthemodebutton
Eonthesteeringwheel.
WiththeOKbuttonF,selectDriverAssistance,thenSCCResponse.ThenselectFast,Normal,
orSlow.
Rear Liftgate Operation8
ForvehicleswithaSmartKeyorflip-outkey/remote,theremoteliftgatebuttonA(heldforone
second)onlyunlockstheliftgate,anddoesnotphysicallyunlatchorpopopentheliftgatedoor.
ForvehicleswithaSmartKeyONLY,depresstheliftgatehandleswitchtounlockandopenthe
liftgate(thevehicledetectstheSmartKey,unlockstheliftgatelock,andallowstheliftgateto

Highway Driving Assist (HDA)*9
HDAisdesignedtoadjustthespeedofthevehiclewhendrivingonlimited/controlledaccess
highways/freeways.Thesystemcanadjustthevehicle’sspeedbasedonavailablehighwayspeed
information.Theautomaticspeedsettingmodeisdesignedtosetthespeedautomaticallyby
adjustingtothecurrentspeedlimitsofthehighwaythevehicleistravelingon.
ToactivateHDA,turnSmartCruiseControl(SCC)onbypressingtheDrivingAssistCRUISE/
DrivingAssistModeCRUISEbuttonAonthesteeringwheel.WhenHDAisactivatedandthe
conditionsaremet,theinstrumentclusterindicatorBwillilluminategreen.Ifproperconditions
arenotmet,HDAwillbeinstandbymodeandtheindicatorlightBwillilluminatewhite.When
inoperation,andifbothlanesarerecognized,theinstrumentclusterwillshowthelanes
illuminatedwhiteandtheHDAindicatorilluminatedgreenB.
IfHDAisactivated,conditionsaremetandtheSCCspeedissetbythedriver(attheposted
highwayspeedlimitorslower),HDAwillentertheautomaticspeedsettingmode.Thesetspeed
andAUTOwillbedisplayedCingreenandanaudiblealertwillsound.
HDA will operate only when these conditions are met:
•Thevehicleistravelingslowerthan110mphorthehighwayspeedlimit.
•Whendrivingonlimited/controlledaccesshighways/freeways.
•WhentheSCCisonandoperating.
•WhentheSCCspeedissettocurrentpostedhighwayspeedorslower.
HDA User Settings:
ToenableHDA,presstheModebuttonDonthesteeringwheelandgotoUserSettingsinthe
instrumentcluster.PresstheMove(OK)buttonEup/downandpressDriverAssistance,then
DrivingAssist,HighwayDrivingAssist.ThenpresstheOKbuttonEtoenable.
SomemodelsaccesssettingsthroughtheVehicleSettingsintheaudioheadunit.PresstheSetup
hardkeyontheaudioheadunit,thenpressVehicleonthescreentoenterVehicleSettings.
Automatic Climate Control
Climate Control Auto Function:
1.PressAUTOtoselectFullAutoOperation.TheAutosettingautomaticallycontrolstheairflowmodes,fanspeeds,
airintake,andairconditioningaccordingtothetemperaturesettingselected.
2.Setdesiredtemperature.
3.PressSYNCtosynctheright-sidetemperaturetothesetleft-sidetemperature.
Defog Inside Windshield:
1.SetFanSpeedtohighestposition.
2.SetTemperaturetohighestposition.
3.PresstheFrontDefrostbutton.
Defrost Outside Windshield:
1.SetTemperaturetoHot.

Auto Defogging System (ADS):
AutoDefoggingisdesignedtoreducethefoggingupoftheinsideofthewindshieldbyautomaticallysensingthemoistureofthe
insideofthewindshield.Thesystemwillautomaticallychangetodefrostmodewhenneeded.
AutoDefoggingissetONbydefault.TocancelAutoDefogging,pressandholdtheFrontDefrostbuttonforthreesecondswhenthe
ignitionison(thedefrostbuttonlightwillflashthreetimesandtheADSOFFiconwillilluminate).ToturnAutoDefoggingonagain,
pressandholdtheFrontDefrostbuttonforthreeseconds(thedefrostbuttonlightwillflashsixtimesandADSOFFiconwillturnoff).
Driver-Only Ventilation:
Driver-OnlyVentilationrestrictsairflowtothedriver’ssideventsonly.Thiscanhelpoptimizedrivingrangebylimitingthepower
drawnfromthebattery.PresstheDRIVERONLYbuttontoenableairflowthroughthedriver’ssideventsonly.

theacceleratorpedalonaslope,theclutch/transmissionmayoverheat,resultingindamage.

•Aslighttimelagmaybeexperiencedattakeofffromstandstillduringaggressive

To charge the Plug-In Hybrid vehicle using a normal/trickle charger:
1.ConnecttheIn-CableControlBox(ICCB)plugtoanelectricaloutlet.
2.Checkifthepowerlight(green)ontheICCBturnson.
3.Pressthebrakepedalandengagetheparkingbrake.
4.Turnoffallswitches,puttheshiftleverinP(Park),andturnoffthevehicle.
