GettingStarted
CombiningbothapowerfulalgorithmicreverbunitwithspecialMODeffects,REDOXgeneratesuniqueeffectsthatareaimedatelectronic
musicians.WithaclearLCDscreenand99internalmemoriesaswellasauto-savingofthecurrentsettings,REDOXisacreativetoolyoucanapply
toanumberofuses.ThesignallevelsusedinREDOXaremoresuitableforsynthesizersandaudiomixersratherthanguitars.Sometypical
scenarioswhereREDOXwillshine:

UserInterface
TheLCDscreenshowsthecurrentstatusandoffersaccesstoallmodeswiththepushofabutton.Therearefourscreensthatallowallparameters
tobecontrolled.Allscreenssharethefollowingcommonelements:
InputLevelMeter-Alongtheleftedgeofthescreenistheinputlevelmeter.Eachpixelrepresents1dBandeachmarkrepresents3dB.
Whenastereosignalisinputthemeterwillshowtwosignals.WhenamonosignalisinputtotheL/MONOjack,asinglemonometerwillbe
shown.Adjustyoursourcetosetthedesiredinputleveltobestrongbutnotoverloading.
OutputLevelMeter-Theoutputlevelmeterisshownalongtherightedgeofthescreen.ItisaffectedbytheMASTERcontrol.Ifthe
signalsintheunitbuilduptoomuchandcausetheoutputtoclip,simplyturndowntheMASTERtoadjusttheheadroomoftheunit.
ProgramDisplay-Thecurrentlyloadedprogramisalwaysshownonthetopofthescreen.Anasterisk(*)nexttothenameindicatesthat
theprogramhasbeenmodifiedsincebeingloaded.Thismodifiedprogramisautomaticallysavedwhentheunitispoweredoffandrestored
whenpoweredon.
SoftkeyLabels-Alongthebottomofthescreenthesoftkeylabelsareshown.Theseindicatethefunctionsofthethreesoftkeysunderthe
screen.Normallytheseareusedtochangetodifferentscreens.
NavigatingandEditing
DedicatedcontrolssuchastheMOD,FILTERandSIZEcontrolsedittheparametersonthemainscreenatalltimes.SimilarlytheMIXand
MASTERcontrolsalwaysaffecttheaudiomixandoutputlevelrespectively.
OtherparametersareeditedusingtheSELECTandVALUEknobs,alongwiththesoftkeys.TheSELECTknobisusedtochoosewhichparameterto
edit,andtheVALUEknobchangesthevalue.Thecurrentlyselectedparameterisshowneitherbythevaluebeinghighlightedorbyasmallbox
shownnexttoit.
Screens
Main
Themainscreendisplaysthevaluesofthethreededicatedparameters:MODLevel,FILTERandSIZE.Theseareshownasbargraphswhich
indicatetherelativeamountofeachsetting.
MOD
TheMODscreendisplaystheMODtypeandbothoftheparameters:Param1andParam2.Thenames,valuesandrangesoftheseparameters
dependonthechosenMODeffect.
REVERB
TheREVERBscreendisplaysthecurrentselectedreverbalgorithm,predelayandareverbparameter.Thepredelayiscommontoallreverbsand
canrangefrom0msto200ms.Thereverbparametername,valueandrangedependsonthechosenreverbalgorithm.
SYS

TheSYSscreenofferstheabilitytosaveandrenameprograms,changethereceiveMIDIchannelforcontrollingREDOXfromanotherdevice,and
thedisplaysthecurrentfirmwareversion.
SavingaProgram
Tosavethecurrentsettingstoaprogram,selecttheprogramnumbertosavebyadjustingthevalueontheSaveline.ThenpresstheSAVEsoftkey.
RenamingaProgram
TorenameaprogrampresstheNAMEsoftkeywhichwillhighlighttoindicatethatthenameeditfunctionisactive.UsetheSELECTcontroltomove
thecursorandtheVALUEcontroltoselectthecharacterforthecurrentslot.TofinisheditingpresstheNAMEkeyagain.
ExtraFunctions
AdjustingLCDScreenContrast
TheLCDscreenrarelyshouldrequireanyadjustment.Howeverifyouwishyoucanadjustthecontrasttoimproveviewingfromcertainangles.To
dothis,holddownallthreewhitebuttonsunderthescreenandthenturntheVALUEcontrol.Thenewcontrastsettingwillbesavedwithinaminute
orso.
AdjustingtheLCDBacklightBrightness
TheLCDbacklightcanbesettooneoftwobrightnesslevels.Innormalmodethebrightnessisattherecommendedbrightnesslevel.Ifyouworkin
adarkenvironmentorwishtobetterphotographthedevice,youcanreducethebrightnesssignificantly.Todothis,holddownallthreewhite
buttonsunderthescreenwhileturntheSELECTcontrolupordowntoselectbetweenhighandlowbrightnesslevel.Thenewbrightnesssettingwill
besavedwithinaminuteorso.
SignalPath
REDOXAudioSignalBlockDiagram
REDOXcombinesapowerfulreverbprocessorwiththeuniqueMODeffectsystemwhichcanprocessaudiobeforeand/orafterthereverb.The
chosenMODeffectdetermineswhereandhowaudioisprocessed.Thisarrangementoffersuniqueandunusualpossibilitiesthataresuretofind
creativeuseinyourmusic.
UnlikemosteffectsprocessorstheMIXcontrolonlyaffectsthemixofthereverbsignalwhereastheMODeffectisalwayspresentwhenengaged.
SomeMODeffectsoffertheirownmixcontrolwhichadjuststhebalanceofdrytoeffectedsound.TheMODEnablebuttoncanbeusedtoenable
anddisabletheeffect.WhentheMODEnableLEDisoff,theMODeffectisdisengaged.
Jacks
ToconnectREDOXwithyourotherequipmentuseshielded1/4"patchcables.Youcanuseeitheramonoorstereosource.Whenusingamono
source,plugitintotheL/MONOinput.Notethattheinputlevelmeterwillchangetoshowamonosourceinthiscase.Theoutputisalwaysstereo.
Youcanuseoneorbothoutputs.
REDOXusesUSBpowerformaximumconvenienceandefficiency.ThepowersupplyshippedwithREDOXhasbeenchosenforhighqualityandlow
noise.Werecommendthatyouusethispowersupplyifpossible,howeveranyqualityUSBpowersourcecanbeused.REDOXdrawsapprox.220mA
undernormaluse.Werecommendapowersupplywithatleast500mAofoutputcurrentbeused.
Inadditiontoprovidingpower,theUSBconnectioncanalsobeusedtoinstallfirmwareupdatesandtocontrolREDOXviaMIDI.

downloadingthepresetbankssoyoucanrestorethefactorysettings,editpresetsonyourcomputer,orexchangebankswithfriends.
TrytheKAPatchLoaderPresetManagerwebapp.Thisallowsyoutouploadanddownloadentirebanksofpresets.Ifyouwishtomixandmatch
