Read these instructions
carefully before using the
CBC Penlight LED and
keep them in a safe place
for future reference.
CBC Penlight LED
Intended use:
The CBC Penlight LED is a
medical device for examination
of the pupillary reflex and
for illumination of mouth and
pharynx.
Contraindication/
side effect:
None known.
User:
This medical device should
only be used by trained
personnel.
Patient target group:
No restrictions.
Switching on:
Remove the grey transportation
lock and press the push button
until it clicks in.
Switching off:
Press the push button
again and it will return into
its original position.
Battery equipment:
2 x 1.5 V micro batteries LRO3
AAA. The use of rechargeable
batteries is not permitted.
Changing batteries:
Unscrew the bulb holder and
remove the batteries. Insert
new batteries with the positive
pole showing to the bulb.
Safety notes:
Do not use when allergic to
nickel!
Check the product for any vi-
sible damage and functionality
prior to each use. In the event
of defects or malfunctions, dis-
continue use of the product.
Reprocessing:
Disinfect the product prior to
and after each use. Do not use
alkaline detergents. Steriliza-
tion, mechanical disinfection,
immersive disinfection and
cleaning in an ultrasonic bath
are not permitted.
Manual cleaning:
Carefully wipe the CBC
Penlight LED casing
with a cloth moistened with
a pH neutral detergent.
Wipe disinfection:
Use alcohol-based disinfec-
tants approved by the German
Society of Hygiene and
Microbiology DGHM.
Performance characteristics:
Life time LED: ca. 100.000 h
Luminous intensity: 15.000 –
31.000 mcd
Color temperature: ca. 3000 K
The lasered scale helps to
determine the pupil width.
