NOTICES
Before you start, please read entire manual.
Thank you for your purchase. In choosing Kitchen Brains, you
have chosen a product with over 50 years of innovation and
quality manufacturing behind it. The BB Timer is designed to
simplify your timing process and allow your foodservice oper-
ators to spend more time with customers and manage other
important responsibilities. Quality control of your food product
is assured through the various features, notication displays
and alarms designed into the BB Timer.
There are three modes of operation on
the BB Timer:
•Idle Mode: Shows Real Time Clock.
•Operating Mode: Used to time 4- or 8- product cycles.
•Product Programming Mode: Used to add or modify features
and timing functions parameters.
Kitchen Brains is not liable for any use of product not in
accordance with Kitchen Brains installation and operation
instructions.
Before using this equipment, or for any question on it’s
operation, please consult and follow all instructions and
safety warnings found in this manual.
Timer Operating Environment
The solid state components in this timer are designed to operate
reliably in a temperature range up to 158°F/70°C. Before
installing this timer, please verify that the ambient temperature
at the mounting location does not exceed 158°F/70°C.
Cleaning the Timer
Using a clean damp cloth, wipe down your controller daily
using a commercial quality foodservice-approved detergent.
Do not allow oil to build up on any part of the controller.
NEVER use chemical or abrasive cleaners on your controller.
This may damage the controller’s overlay.
Installation
1. Install Batteries:
a. Remove battery holder cover and install 4 new,
fully-charged, 1.5V AA batteries.
b. All LEDs will blink once for 2 seconds.
c. Display will show the following information:
i. Test all segments: 88 88
ii. Software and revision numbers in two
second intervals
d.After initialization, the display will show the Real Time
Clock with colon blinking every second (Idle Mode).
e. Status LEDs will blink for 1 second every 30 seconds.
Battery status LED will indicate battery status using
the following colors:
Green: Good battery level
Amber: Warning. Battery is approaching low level.
Red: Battery needs replacement
2. Choose your mounting location.
3. If required, a mounting bracket is sold separately. To install,
attach the two mounting brackets to the controller using the
two wing nuts provided. Be sure to put one star washer on
each side of the mounting bracket.

MOUNTING OPTIONS
No Installation Required
1. BB Timers have a magnetic backing, so they can be
placed on most metal surfaces within the kitchen.
2. For a more permanent positioning, a mounting
bracket is available.
3. If being placed where there is no metal surface, you
can order a mounting plate that will hold the BB
Timer by its magnets.

1. STATUS LEDS: Shows device status and
battery status.
2. ACROSS-THE-ROOM MONITORING: 7-Segment
Digital LCD Display. Easy-to-read display allows
employees to quickly check the status of the timer
from across the room.
•Shows Real Time Clock while in Idle Mode.
• Shows countdown (count up) in hours, minutes
and seconds
• Shows time remaining for active product key
• Displays features for programming mode
3. UP and DOWN ARROW KEYS: In Programming Mode
increases or decreases increments for the time
or feature.
4. PROGRAMMING KEY (“P”): Used to start
Programming Mode/save programmed parameters.
5. SCAN KEY: In Programming Mode, used to program
timer features. In Operating Mode, used to scan
remaining time in active keys.
6. PRODUCT KEYS: In Programming Mode, used to
program timers. In Operating Mode, used
to start / stop timing cycles.
7. ONE (1) LED PER PRODUCT KEY: When blinking
or ashing, indicates channel is in use.

SYSTEM SETUP / PROGRAMMING (UNIT MUST BE IN IDLE MODE)
• Press and hold the Programming Key (“P”) for 3 seconds. LCD will show “Prod”
• Press and hold Scan Key for 3 seconds. LCD will alternately display “PrE”
and “no”
• Press the “P” Key. LCD will alternately display “Loud” and “L 1”
• Press “ ” until desired volume level is reached “L1: Low, L2: Med, L3: Loud”
• Press the “P” Key until the Real Time Clock is displayed (or “- - : - - “).
• Press and hold the Programming Key (“P”) for 3 seconds. LCD will show “Prod”
• Press and hold Scan Key for 3 seconds. LCD will alternately display “rEPA” with
“YES” and “no”
• When set to “YES” the countdown will repeatedly beep 5 times and flash a choice
of actions (Hand or Sani) when the unit reaches 0:00 and then automatically
resets for another interval.
• Press “P” for “rEPn” with “YES” or “NO” When set to “YES” the countdown will
repeatedly beep 5 times and flash a choice of actions (0:00 Hand or Sani) when
the unit reaches 0:00 until the user presses the key to acknowledge the timer/
alarm and then resets for another interval.
If Repeating Alarms are programmed, the following choices are available after
pressing the “P” key.
• LCD will dispaly rEST - This is the RTC start time, the recurring alarms will
begin on a daily basis. Set time.
• Press “P” for rEEn - This is the RTC end time, the recurring alarms will stop,
reccurring and any active alarms will be cleared.
• Press the “P” Key several times until “Prod” is shown on the screen, then press
“P” one more time to exit the programming.
The internal is based on the time set on each product Timer if repeating
alarms are set. Example: Key 1 = 30 minutes to change gloves/wash hands
Key 2 = 2 hours to change sanitize bucket
Timer will repeat all day between the Start Time (opening hours) and the End Time
(closing hours) based on store.

• Press the “P” Key until “Prod” is shown on the screen, then press “P” one more time
•If no is selected unit will show “- - : - - “ in idle mode (currently the unit is blank
when no is selected.

OPERATING THE TIMER
TIMER OPERATION
Activate Timer • Press product key. LCD will display the remaining time counting down (Note:
Solid colon indicates that the time is in “MM:SS” format. Blinking colon
indicates “HH:MM” format)
• The LED above the Product Key will blink to indicate an active timing cycle
(The the product with the shortest remaining time will stay ON longer)
• Press Scan Key to scan through each remaining time SCAN “P” SCAN.

Cancel • To cancel a timing cycle, press and hold the Product Key
Time Complete • Time completion is indicated in several ways:
o Product LED blinks with 1 second interval
o LCD will show “donE”
o Timer will generate an audible alarm
• Press the product key to acknowledge the timer event
• When ther are no active time the unit returns to Idle mode showing

Press and hold the Programming Key (“P”) for 3 seconds. LCD
will display “Prod”
• Press Product timer key. LCD will display “t1” alternating with
“05:00” (default time)
• Press “ ” and/or “ ”arrows to set the cooking time
(Press and hold for faster change)
o Device will switch from “MM:SS” to “HH:MM” once timer is set above 59:59
in “MM:SS” programing mode
o Solid colon indicates that the time is in “MM:SS” format. Blinking colon
indicates “HH:MM” format
- If Prealarms are enabled:
• Press the selected timer key again, the display will show “PrE”, using
the “” or “”arrows select the prealarm time you wish an alert to occur
prior to the end of the time cycle.
- If Repeating Alerts are enabled:
• Pressing the timer key again, the display will show “rES” and toggle a
choice of “0:00” or “HAnd” or “Sani” using the a“” or “”arrow keys.
This is a choice of selection desired at the end of the repeating alarm cycle.
• Press the “P” key to save time value
• Repeat for all desired product keys
