3. Remove any hard inedible skins prior to juicing. Examples are melons,
pineapples, and mangos.
4. If citrus fruits are being used, remove the skin prior to juicing.
5. If pieces of fruit are very large please cut them into smaller pieces that will fit
into the chute of the hopper.
6. Before adding fruit or vegetables to the hopper, make sure the hopper is
securely in place. (see page 6, #’s 13 and 14)
7. Plug in the Slow Juicer and briefly turn the control knob to the “ON”position to

assembled correctly and you may begin to add your fruits and vegetables. If
the juicer does not turn on, please disassemble and reassemble the juicer.
8. Use the food pusher to help push the fruits and vegetables until they have
gone through the juicer. Do not press hard as the juicer will not be as
effective.
9. NEVER put your hand or any other object other than the food pusher into the
chute of the hopper during operation.
10. The juice from the fruit and vegetables will flow directly into the juice cup and
the pulp will be collected in the pulp cup.

Tips for Juicing
Cut food items into smaller pieces that will fit easily into the chute of the hopper for
optimal extraction.
DO NOT place ice or frozen fruit into the juicer. Thaw fruit before juicing.
Do not push on the food pusher with excessive force. The food pusher is deigned to
gently push the food down the chute if the food becomes stuck.
Insert food at a regular speed, allowing all the pulp to be extracted.
For maximum efficiency, do not rush this process.
When juicing leafy greens or wheat grass, we suggest that you mix it with fruits or
other hard vegetables (like carrots) for optimal results.
Juice nuts only with other foods such as soaked soybeans or liquids.
The juice from fresh fruit and vegetables is high in nutritional content and is an
important part of a balanced diet.
When selecting fruit and vegetables for juicing, always select fresh and well ripened
items as they have more flavor and juice than those that are not fully ripened.
Juice is best consumed when freshly made as this is when its vitamin and mineral
content is highest.
For better tasting citrus juices remove the inner white peel from the fruit.
A small amount of lemon juice can be added to apple juice to keep it from turning
brown.
This juicer is not suitable for juicing very hard and starchy fruits or vegetables such as
sugar cane.
When juicing fruits and vegetables of different consistency it may help to juice different
consistencies together. For example, juice soft fruit first (i.e. oranges) then follow with
a hard fruit (i.e. apples). This will help achieve maximum juice extraction.
If juicing herbs or leafy vegetables, wrap them together to form a bundle before placing
them in the juice hopper or combine them with other ingredients.
DO NOT put vegetable or animal oil in the juicer (sesame seed, butter, margarine, etc.).
It can reduce the performance of and possibly damage the juicer.
DO NOT try to juice items with no water/juice to extract such as coconut, sugarcane,
whole grains, etc.
TIPS AND REMINDERS FOR INGREDIENTS
DO NOT put the following ingredients into the juicer
oHard seeds –found in peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums, mangos, etc.
oHard or inedible skins or peels –pineapple, melons, mango, orange, etc.
oFrozen fruits or ice –completely thaw frozen fruits before juicing.
oVegetable/animal oil –sesame seeds, butter, margarine, etc.
oIngredients with no water content –coconut meats, sugarcane, whole
grains, etc.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the Slow Juicer is turned OFF and unplugged before cleaning or

better tasting juice.

Once the mesh is clean you may wash it with warm soapy water. Be sure to rinse it
thoroughly before drying to remove any soap residue.
4. Use the pointed end of the brush to push any excess pulp from the juice bowl through
the pulp spout if needed.
5. If holes are blocked or the mesh does not come clean you may soak it in a solution of
very warm water with a little bit of lemon juice for up to 5 minutes before using the
brush again. DO NOT soak in bleach.

TIPS
Discoloration of the plastic parts may occur with brightly colored fruit and vegetables.
To help prevent this, wash the parts immediately after use.
