HD177 Throw Distance
Thank you for choosing Knöll projectors! There are two versions of the HD177, those
shipped after November 1, 2004 and before. Please note that the lens assembl is
different and therefore the throw distances are different.
The HD177 is a state of the art projector with a high resolution 16:9 igital light processing
chips to give bright clear images an isplay movies in a format similar to the one they were
filme in. Its Carl Zeiss lens allows for a wi e level amount of zooming (1:1.25).
The HD177 projector is esigne only for use with 16:9 aspect ratio screens. 4:3 images can
safely be isplaye on the 16:9 screens. Some screens have moveable screen wi th curtains
that can be controlle by the HD177 ual trigger outputs.
The Knöll CM25 ceiling mount kit is easy to install an swivels for exact placement. It rops
the projector about 3" an the projector lens is about 6" from the ceiling. If more of a rop
is nee e , the CM20+6 exten er a s an extra 6" rop. As many CM20+6 can be a e as
nee e .
The most frequently aske questions concerning DLP projectors are:
How much can the projector be tilte own (when ceiling mounting) or up (when floor
mounte )?
About 20 egrees. The HD177 has a igital a justable keystone but for best overall image
the HD177 projector shoul i eally be level if the screen is vertical (which is usually the
case).
Is the wi th of the 4:3 image the same as the 16:9 image?
No. The HD177 has 16:9 imager an isplays 16:9 or wi escreen images using its full wi th of
1024 pixels by 576 pixels high. When isplaying 4:3 images it still uses all of its 576 pixels in
height but the image wi th is re uce to 768 pixels. Black bars are a e on the si es of the
image.
Projection throw istances are the maximum an minimum horizontal
istances from the projector lens to the screen. If the projector is mounte
level (this is strongly recommen e ) the image will rop (ceiling mounte
projector) or rise (floor mounte projector).
