Product Overview
The 3.5G USB Modem is backward compatib e with HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM, up to
7.2Mbps maximum speed. You wi gain access to high-speed internet thanks to the continuous
upgrading of software and techno ogy, it wi be ab e to provide you with even more
functiona ity in the future.
This USB has a p ug-and-p ay, auto-insta driver. No CD-ROM is required.

Warnings

Software & river Installation
Different operating systems required for the insta ation and un-insta ation procedure may
cause the procedure to be different from the one described in this manua . If you see any
differences, p ease fo ow the guide ines on the computer to insta the software and drive.
1. P ease start your computer, then connect the USB modem to the PC.
(P ease note: the signa depends on the oca network conditions.)
2. The operating system wi search for data card devices.
3. The operating system wi comp ete the search for data card devices and show the above
message.
4. The computer software wi be insta ed automatica y on your PC, and the fo owing
message wi be disp ayed.
If step (4) does not start automatica y, fo ow step (5), otherwise go straight to step (6).
5. C ick on “My Computer”, then right-c ick the “HSDPA USB Modem” device and se ect
“Autop ay”, as shown be ow.
6. After insta ation is comp ete, press FINISH.

7. Wait for the computer to automatica y insta the data card driver, then wait for 1-3
minutes depending on the eve of computer configuration required.
If step (7) does not start automatica y, p ease fo ow step (8), otherwise go straight to
step (9).
8. Start “My Computer”, right c ick “HSDPA USB Modem” and se ect autop ay.
9. Wait to comp ete the insta ation of data card drivers.
Inserting Your SIM Card
Step 1: P ace the USB mode so that the ratings abe is facing
upwards, towards you.
Step 2: Remove the end cap from the USB modem.
Step 3: S ide the topside of the casing away from the USB p ug,
which wi a ow for it to be ifted away from the USB modem.
Remove the casing in the direction of the arrow shown in Step
2.
Step 4: Fo owing the abe on the SIM card guard, s ide your SIM
card into position. Underneath the SIM card s ot is a s ot that
you can insert a MicroSD memory card into.

Troubleshooting Guide
Problem Suggested Solution
Driver or app ication software insta ation fai ed. •Ensure at east 50MB of free disk space.
•Before insta ing driver, c ose a other programs.
LED indicator not f ashing. •Check that the SIM card is fu y inserted into the SIM card
s ot, ensuring that it is insta ed in the correct direction.
•If the indicator ight is sti not f ashing, disconnect the USB
port and re-insert the SIM, then reconnect.
App ication cannot start. •Connect the USB modem to the PC, then wait about 5-10
seconds, then run the app ication. The app ication wi
automatica y test if the equipment is connected or not and if
the SIM is inserted correct y or not.
•Fo ow the be ow steps to check the modem driver: right-
c ick My Computer Manage Device Driver → → →
Modem/Ports.
1. Make sure the modem name “Mobi e Connector”, the port
name “Device Diagnostic Interface” and “Device App ication
Interface” are a disp ayed and do not show warning signs.
2. If any warnings are shown, take out the USB modem and
p ug it in again, then the drive can be insta ed.
3. If you sti see a warning marker, fo ow these steps: right-
c ick the “Mobi e Connector”, “Device Diagnostic Interface”
and “Device App ication Interface”, then in the pop-up menu,
se ect “uninsta ” to uninsta the existing drivers. Take the
modem out, then p ug it back in again and enter the
insta ation menu of the driver.
Modem Connection Fai ure Check if the wire ess internet service is current y avai ab e and
working in your region. Check if the SIM card supports the service or
not, or for further information contact your oca network operator.
•If the SIM card is a prepaid card, make sure that the card has
enough ba ance.
•Check the dia -up connection, c ick on it's properties to
verify the modem connection.
•To manua y add a service provider to the ist of profi es,
p ease c ick on the fo owing ink and fo ow the instructions:

Modem Connection is OK, but then immediate y
disconnects.
•A SIM card prob em is possib e. Try another SIM card.
•If it is not a SIM card prob em, it may be a network server
instabi ity. Try another network providers SIM card.
Driver did not comp ete the uninsta ation. In order to make sure that the software was uninsta ed proper y, do
not pu out the USB modem during the uninsta process and instead
wait for the comp etion of the uninsta ation. Then go to “My
Computer” “Manage” “Device Manager” and scan for hardware → →
changes again. A window shou d pop up saying device drivers need
to be insta ed, at which point you shou d cance a insta requests.
Next to the devices ye ow question mark icons wi appear. Right-
c ick these devices, se ect “uninsta ” to comp ete y uninsta device
drivers, so you can then uninsta the USB modem driver safe y and
comp ete y.
Guide to ial-Up Failure

Maintenance
1. Before the modem is disconnected from the PC, you must turn off the modem
app ication software and wait for the network connection icon to disappear in the
bottom right.
2. When the modem is connected to the PC, do not insert a SIM card.
3. Do not open the modem cover to repair it yourse f. You shou d contact the Kogan
customer support team.
4. Do not shake or hit the modem.
5. Do not user chemica s to c ean the surface of the modem. Use a dry c oth.
6. Do not use modem in c ose range of medica devices.
7. Do not use modem in aircraft.
8. Do not use modem near any f ammab e or exp osive environments.
9. Do not use during ightning storms.
