Please read these instructions carefully to familiarize yourself with the required
tools, materials, and installation sequences. Follow the sections that pertain
to your particular installation. This will help you avoid costly mistakes.
In addition to proper installation, read all operating and safety instructions.
All information in this manual is based upon the latest product information
available at the time of publication. At Kohler, we constantly strive to improve

NOTE: The bathtub pictured in the installation steps may dier from the
model being installed.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO INSTALLERS!: Please leave these instructions for
the consumer. They contain important information.
In addition to installation procedures, this manual contains important care and
cleaning. Please retain for future reference.
¨Please provide adequate available space for the bath unit in accordance with
roughing-in. Arrange the location of drain in advance.
¨ Bath can be installed aer the wall is completed. Bath drain supplies
should be arranged preliminarily according to the selected bath.

Product Requirement
A. Summary Of Key Requirements
¨Observe all local plumbing codes.
¨Install the unit to a level suboor.
¨LITHOCAST bath is heavy. Please make sure the oor provides adequate
support for the bath. With its weight and water consumption marked
in the roughing-in, the bath is supported with four 70 x 70 mm squared
feet. Please evaluate with the data above if your oor provides adequate
support for the weight of the bath, water and the user.
B.PlumbingSpecications
Conrm adequate mounting, connection space for the faucet specied for your
installation.
C. Product Inspection
Unpack and inspect bath for damage. All Kohler’s baths have been manufactured
with sophisticated crasmanship. However, please inspect for any possible

damage that may have occurred in transit. Leave all materials in the crate
during construction to prevent damage.
NOTE: Damage occurred during transit shall not be covered by warranty.
D. New or Replacement Installation Requirements
For replacement: Remove the old bath, and remove enough old wall material
and oor covering from the area to allow for installation. Remove any old
plumbing that does not conform to the roughing-in requirements.
For new installation: Position the plumbing according to the roughing-in
dimensions.
E. Clearance Requirements
¨Check the roughing-in and room dimensions to provide adequate available
space for the bath unit.
¨ Make sure the ooring oers adequate support for your bath, and verify
that the suboor is at and level.

Prepare the Site
Before You Begin
NOTICE: Adequate oor support must be provided. Consult the roughing-in
sheet packed with your bath for specic oor loading requirements.
¨ Ensure the suboor oers adequate support for your bath.
¨ Ensure the suboor is level.
IMPORTANT! To ensure a successful installation, it is critical that bath be
installed on a perfectly level nished oor.
¨ Ensure the nished oor is perfectly level before proceeding with the bath
installation.
NOTICE: Protect the Bath Unit
Position a clean drop cloth or similar material in the boom of the bath. Be
careful not to scratch the bath surface.
WARNING: Risk of personal injury. The bath weighs 238 kg. Use proper
liing technique when handling the bath.



1. Install the Plumbing
2. Secure the bath in the proposed position
¨The drain has been installed onto the bath before it leaves factory.
¨Fill the bath with water before the bath is securely positioned so as to
check the supply connections for leaks. Kohler Co. shall not be liable under
its warranty or otherwise for damage caused by negligence.
NOTE: Carefully li the bath on the oor.
¨ Li the stone bath by about 30 cm from the oor. You can support the bath
with 30 cm-height-blocks beneath its boom.
IMPORTANT: The bath must be installed level on all top edges. Floor should
be at, level and free of any bumps or protrusions.
¨The drain of the bath is instructed to the bath beforehand. Please insert the
drain hose to the oor drain, and seal the connection of hose and the oor
drain with silica gel. Please set apart some spare length of the hose, in case
of future bath maintainance.
¨ Place the bath on the oor. Put the spirit level to the upper level of the bath
to measure the levelness. If the bath is not level, please put sheet metal under
the bath to raise it up. You might need to li the bath several times.

Cleaning Your LITHOCAST Bath



For best results, keep the following in mind when caring for your KOHLER
product:
• Use a mild detergent such as liquid dishwashing soap and warm water for
cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners that may scratch or dull the surface.
• Carefully read the cleaner product label to ensure the cleaner is safe for use
on the material.
• Always test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area before applying
to the entire surface.
• Do not allow cleaners to sit or soak on the surface.
• Wipe surfaces clean and rinse completely with water immediately aer
cleaner application. Rinse and dry any overspray that lands on nearby
surfaces.
• Use a so, dampened sponge or cloth. Never use an abrasive material such
as a brush or scouring pad to clean surfaces.



User’s Guide
1. Do not put objects with high temperature on the bathtub directly or for
a long time.
¨Although LITHOCAST bathtub is heat-resisting, its surface will still be
damaged under too high a temperature. Keles containing boiling water
or other objects with too high a temperature are likely to cause damage to
the surface of the bathtub.
¨Please control water temperature of the water in the bathtub or the water
being poured into the bathtub under 50 °C.
CAUTION: Do not pour water with too high temperature directly into the
bathtub.
2. Spots caused by scratching, common chemicals, burning and slight knocks.
¨Spots caused by nicks, scratching and burning are unavoidable for
frequently used LITHOCAST bathtub. However, since LITHOCAST
is solid from inside to outside, the spots can be removed by using the
following methods:
¨Spots caused by scratching, common chemicals, burning and slight knocks
can all be removed by using Scotch brand cleaning pad. Slight sanding
is necessary for severer damages, and the following steps are needed:
2.1 Wash the surface with clean water to ensure it is dustless.
2.2 Use 600 # waterproof abrasive paper to sand the surface, and then
use 1200 # abrasive paper to polish the surface.
2.3 Wipe away the water with a piece of dry cloth.
CAUTION: Must keep the surface wet while sanding it.
3. Keep the surface dry.
Water contains large amounts of bleaching agents and incrustation. Therefore,
it will aect the color and appearance of the bathtub if it stays on the surface
for a long time.

4. Keep the surface away from strong chemicals.
 ¨LITHOCAST is damage-resisting, but strong chemicals are not allowed to
contact its surface. Paint-removing detergents, metal cleaning detergents,
stove cleaning detergents, methylene chloride, acetone (like nail enamel
remover) and strong acid detergents shall be avoided.
¨If the surface contacts the above-mentioned detergents, please immediately
wash it with soap water.
¨If the surface is spoed by nail enamel, please clean it with acetone free
detergents and then wash it with water.
5. Protect the surface from being knocked by overweight or sharp-ended
objects.
6. Product renovation
In case the bathtub surface is scratched or tarnished due to long time of use,
please ask professionals to polish the surface, which will restore its original
look.
