Before You Begin (cont.)
If possible, assemble the faucet and drain assembly to the sink
before installing the sink.
Prior to installation, unpack the new sink and inspect it for
damage. Return the sink to its protective carton until you are
ready to install it.
This sink is not intended for undercounter installation.
All information in these instructions is based on the latest product

1. Preparation
Install the water supplies and drain piping according to the
roughing-in information.
NOTE: Consult with a tile contractor to determine the material to be
used.
Tile backer board installed over plywood is the recommended
underlayment for installing this lavatory. Tile should be bonded
to the backer board with dry set or latex Portland mortar.
Acceptable underlayments include: tile backer board over 3/4″
(1.9 cm) exterior grade plywood or 3/4″(1.9 cm) exterior grade
plywood. Do not use: flakeboard, interior grade plywood, or
gypsum wallboard.
Determine the desired location for the sink.
Draw the cutout line based on the measurements provided in the
Cutout Information tables.
Provide adequate clearance between the sink and backsplash.
Verify your measurements.

2. Install the Sink
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or product damage. Cast
iron sinks are very heavy. Get help lifting the sink.
Cut out the opening by carefully following the pencil line traced
from the template.
NOTE: This sink is designed to be installed flush with or slightly
lower than the surrounding tile.
Measure and compare the thickness of the sink rim and the tile.
The rim thickness on this sink is 3/8″(1 cm) plus or minus 1/32″
(1 mm). Because of the varying thickness of the tile and sink, or if
adhesive or mortar bed installation is used, make allowances to
shim the sink, or route the underlayment as required.
Position the sink in the countertop opening. Verify the fit and
position.
Carefully remove the sink.
Install the faucet and strainer(s) to the sink according to the
manufacturer’s instructions.
Place a 1″(2.5 cm) spot of sealant at each corner of the frame
where it will contact the sink.
NOTE: Apply additional sealant if using shims.
Carefully reposition the sink in the countertop opening.

NOTE: If the tiled countertop transitions into a laminated
countertop, the laminated countertop must be installed after the tile
has been installed to ensure a flush transition between the two
surfaces.
Tile and grout to allow an acceptable space between the tile and
sink.
To absorb the vibration from a garbage disposal, apply sealant
between the sink and tile directly adjacent to the sink rim. This
will prevent the grout from cracking around the sink.
Allow the sealant to cure for at least 30 minutes before
proceeding.
3. Complete the Installation
If installing a garbage disposal, install it at this time according to
the manufacturer’s instructions.
If not already installed, install the drain assembly at this time
according to the instructions packed with the drain.
Connect and tighten the trap to the drain assembly, and complete
the water supply connections to the faucet according to the
instructions packed with the faucet.
Run water into the sink and check for leaks.
Clean up with a non-abrasive cleaner.
Cleaning Your Cast Iron Sink
For best results, keep the following in mind when caring for your
Kohler product:
•Test First - Always test your cleaning solution on an
inconspicuous area before applying it to the entire surface.
•Do Not Let Cleaners Soak - Do not allow cleaners to sit or soak
on the product.
•Avoid Abrasive Materials - Use a soft, dampened sponge or
cloth. Never use an abrasive material such as a brush or scouring
pad to clean surfaces.
•Wipe Clean - Wipe surfaces clean and rinse completely with
water immediately after applying cleaners. Rinse and dry any
overspray that lands on nearby surfaces.
Cleaning Instructions
•Rinse thoroughly and use a soft cloth to wipe the product after
each use.

•In the rare occurrence of stubborn stains, use abrasives or
abrasive cleaners sparingly.
•Do not use steel wool, wire brushes or abrasive sponge pads.
•Be careful not to leave dirty dishes, coffee grounds, tea bags or
other staining materials in contact with the enamel surface for
extended periods of time.
•Consider kitchen sink accessories such as bottom basin racks and
rinse baskets to help protect the surface from scratches.

removes marks from the enameled surface, and

exact quantities of ingredients, changes in cleaning formulas, and

One-Year Limited Warranty — USA and Canada
For the U.S.A. and Canada Only
KOHLER plumbing products are warranted to be free of defects in
material and workmanship for one year from date of installation.
Kohler Co. will, at its election, repair, replace or make appropriate
adjustment where Kohler Co. inspection discloses any such defects
occurring in normal usage within one (1) year after installation. Kohler
Co. is not responsible for removal or installation costs. Use of in-tank

toilet cleaners will void the warranty.

Implied warranties including that of merchantability and fitness for
a particular purpose are expressly limited in duration to the duration
of this warranty. Kohler Co. and/or seller disclaims any liability for
special, incidental or consequential damages.
Some states/provinces do not allow limitations on how long an
implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of special,
incidental or consequential damages so these limitations and exclusions
may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights.
You may also have other rights which vary from state/province to
state/province.
This is Kohler Co.’s exclusive written warranty.
Cast Iron Lifetime Limited Warranty — USA and Canada
For the U.S.A. and Canada Only
Kohler Co. warrants the cast iron components of products
manufactured after February 10, 2000, to be free of defects in material
and workmanship during normal residential use for as long as the
original consumer purchaser owns his or her home. Gloss reduction,
scratching, staining and alkaline etching of the finish over time due to
use, cleaning practices or water or atmospheric conditions, are not
manufacturing defects but are indicative of normal wear and tear. This
warranty applies only for KOHLER Cast Iron products installed in the
United States of America, Canada or Mexico (North America).
If a defect is found in normal residential use, Kohler Co. will, at its
election, repair, replace or make appropriate adjustment. Damage
caused by accident, misuse, or abuse is not covered by this warranty.
Improper care and cleaning will void the warranty. Proof of purchase
(original sales receipt) must be provided to Kohler Co. with all
warranty claims. Kohler Co. is not responsible for labor charges,
installation, or other incidental or consequential costs. In no event shall
the liability of Kohler Co. exceed the purchase price of the product.
If the cast iron product is used commercially or is installed outside of
North America, Kohler Co. warrants the cast iron product to be free

from defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the
date the product is installed, with all other terms of this warranty
applying except duration. All other components other than the
enameled cast iron carry Kohler Co.’s one-year limited warranty unless
otherwise specified.
If you believe that you have a warranty claim, contact Kohler Co.,
either through your Dealer, Plumbing Contractor, Home Center or
E-tailer, or by writing: Kohler Co., Attn.: Customer Service Department,
444 Highland Drive, Kohler, WI 53044, USA. Please be sure to provide
all pertinent information regarding your claim, including a complete
description of the problem, the product, model number, color, finish,
the date the product was purchased and from whom the product was
purchased. Also include your original invoice. For other information,
or to obtain the name and address of the service and repair facility
nearest you call 1-800-4-KOHLER from within the USA, 1-800-964-5590
from within Canada, and 001-877-680-1310 from within Mexico.
Kohler Co. and/or seller are providing this warranty in lieu of all
other warranties, expressed or implied, including but not limited to
the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular
purpose. Kohler Co. and/or seller disclaims any liability for special,
incidental or consequential damages.
Some states/provinces do not allow limitations on how long an
implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of special,
incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations and
exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives the consumer
specific legal rights. You may also have other rights, which vary, from
state/province to state/province. This warranty is to the original
consumer purchaser only, and excludes product damage due to
installation error, product abuse, or product misuse, whether
performed by a contractor, service company or the consumer.

One-Year Warranty — Mexico

It is recommended that at the time of purchase, you verify that all
accessories and components are complete in this package.
This Kohler product is warranted to be free of defects in material and
workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase as shown on
the invoice or receipt.

One-Year Warranty — Mexico (cont.)
1. Kohler Co. will only service its commercialized products through its
authorized distributors.
2. To obtain warranty service, please present the invoice and
corresponding warranty.
3. Through its authorized distributors, Kohler Co. promises to repair
the defective product or provide a new replacement or an equivalent
model (in those cases that the model has been discontinued) when the
product is beyond repair, without any charge to the consumer.
4. The time of repair will not exceed six (6) weeks commencing on the
date the product is received.
5. It is recommended that the consumer save the invoice or receipt as
additional protection, as it may substitute the warranty in the case that
there is a discrepancy in the validity of the warranty.
EXCEPTIONS AND RESTRICTIONS
The Warranty will not be valid in the following cases:
1. When the product is not operated in accordance with the
instructions concerning use and operation set forth in the owner’s
manual or installation instructions, and when the recommendations
and warnings included are not observed.
2. When the product has been modified or dismantled partially or
totally; or has been used in a negligent fashion and as a consequence
has suffered damages attributable to the consumer, individual, or
hardware not authorized by Kohler Co.
3. This warranty does not cover the damages as a result of disaster
such as fire or acts of God, including flooding, earthquake, or electric

avant d’installer l’évier.

déceler tout dommage. Remettre l’évier dans son emballage
jusqu’à être prêt à l’installer.

1. Préparation
Installer les alimentations d’eau et tuyauterie du drain selon
l’information du plan de raccordement.
REMARQUE : Consulter le fabriquant des carreaux afin de
déterminer les matériaux à utiliser.
Pour l’installation de ce lavabo, nous vous conseillons de poser le
panneau d’appui pour carreaux sur du contreplaqué. Les carreaux
doivent être collés avec un ciment sec ou du mortier de Portland
en latex. Les sous-couches acceptables incluent: planche d’appui
carrelée sur du contreplaqué extérieur de 3/4″(1,9 cm) ou du
contreplaqué extérieur de 3/4″(1,9 cm). Ne pas utiliser:
aggloméré, contreplaqué pour intérieur, plaque de plâtre.
Déterminer l’emplacement désiré pour l’évier.
Dessiner la ligne de découpe selon les mesures fournies par la
notice d’information de la découpe.
Prévoir suffisamment de dégagement entre l’évier et le dosseret.

2. Installer l’évier
ATTENTION : Risque de blessure corporelle ou
d’endommagement du produit. Les éviers en fonte sont très
lourds. Demander de l’aide pour soulever l’évier.
Découper l’ouverture en suivant soigneusement la ligne tracée au
crayon du gabarit.
REMARQUE : Ce bassin est conçu pour être installé de niveau avec
les carreaux ou plus bas.
Mesurer et comparer l’éspaisseur du rebord de l’évier et des
carreaux. L’épaisseur du rebord de l’évier est de 3/8″(1 cm)
+/1/32″(1 mm). A cause de la différence d’épaisseur entre les
carreaux et le lavabo, ou si vous utilisez du mortier, il faut
prévoir les dégagements nécessaires afin d’utiliser des cales ou,
faire d’autres réglages au besoin.
Placer l’évier dans l’ouverture du comptoir. Vérifier l’ajustage et
la position.
Enlever le lavabo.
Installer le robinet et la(es) crépine(s) à l’évier conformément aux
instructions du fabricant.
Appliquer un boudin de mastic de 1″(2,5 cm) à chaque coin de le
cadre qui touche l’évier.
REMARQUE : Appliquer du matériau d’étanchéité si des cales sont
utilisées.

Repositionner soigneusement l’évier dans l’ouverture du
comptoir.
REMARQUE : Si les carreaux du comptoir sont déplacés sur un
plateau en contreplaqué, le contreplaqué doit être installé après que
les carreaux soient installés pour assurer une bonne transition entre
les deux surfaces.
Carreler de façon à avoir un dégagement acceptable entre les
carreaux et l’évier.
Pour absorber le choc de vibration du broyeur, appliquer du
mastic entre l’évier et les carreaux, à côté du rebord de l’évier.
Ceci évitera que le coulis s’effrite autour de l’évier.
Laisser prendre le mastic pendant au moins 30 minutes avant de
continuer.
3. Compléter l’installation
Dans le cas d’installation de broyeur, l’installer à ce moment selon
les instructions du fabricant.
Installer l’ensemble du drain si celà n’a pas déjà été fait à ce
moment selon les instructions emballées avec le drain.
Connecter et bien fixer le siphon au drain et terminer les
connexions d’alimentation d’eau au robinet selon les instructions
emballées avec le robinet.
Laisser couler l’eau dans l’évier et vérifier s’il y a des fuites.
Nettoyer avec un agent nettoyant non-abrasif.
Nettoyage de l’évier en fonte
Pour de meilleurs résultats, prendre ce qui suit en considération lors
de l’entretien de votre produit Kohler:
•Tester d’abord - Toujours tester la solution de nettoyage sur une
surface la moins évidente avant de l’appliquer sur la totalité de la
surface.
•Ne pas laisser les nettoyants tremper -Ne pas permettre aux
nettoyants de demeurer sur le produit.
•Éviter des matériaux abrasifs - Utiliser une éponge ou un chiffon
doux et humide. Ne jamais utiliser de matériau abrasif tel que
brosse ou éponges à récurer pour nettoyer les surfaces.
•Essuyer -Essuyer les surfaces et rincer complètement avec de
l’eau immédiatement après l’application des nettoyants. Rincer et
sécher tout éclaboussement sur les surfaces annexes.

•Bien rincer et utiliser un chiffon doux pour essuyer le produit
après chaque usage.
•Dans les rares cas de taches tenaces, utiliser des nettoyants
abrasifs avec modération.
•Ne pas utiliser de la laine en fer, brosse en fer ou une éponge
abrasive.
•Faire attention de ne pas laisser de vaisselle sale, grains de café,
sachets de thé ou autres matériels tachant au contact avec la
surface émaillée pour de longues périodes.

cuve et paniers pour rinçage pour aider à protéger la surface de
