Air Heater Termis
INSTALLATION, USE AND MAINTENANCE
The Air Heater Termis is designed for in-
door use. The ambient temperature shall
be 0…40°C if water is used as the heat
transfer uid.
The air to be heated must not be corrosive
or contain large quantities of water vapour
or large particles.
Installation
The air heater is installed xed on the wall by means of
mounting brackets (accessory).
Fix rst the brackets at the desired height on the wall,
select xing screws according to the wall material. Make
sure that the brackets are at the same height.
Loosen the xing screws of the air heater and lift the
air heater by the lower corners onto the brackets. Tighten
the xing screws.
NB! Do not lift the air heater by the ttings of the heat
exchanger, fan or grille.
Connection to the heating system
Connect the inlet pipe to the lower pipe tting and the out-
let pipe to the upper pipe tting by using suitable clamps.
Max operating pressure is 1.0 MPa and temperature
150°C.
Fill the heat exchanger with water and vent the system.
Electrical connection
The air heater is connected according to the diagram
below, transformer regulator is available as an acces-
sory. Only an authorized electrical installation company
is allowed to connect the air heater.
Test the air heater and make sure that the impeller
rotates in the right direction.
Standard products are one-phase, three-phase air
heaters are available by special order.

Commissioning
Make sure that the air heater is rmly xed and that there
are no foreign objects loose inside or in the inlet. Make
sure that the pipe connections are correct, the network
is vented and the pipe joints do no leak. Make sure that
the electrical connections are correct and according to
the instructions. Start the air heater and check that the
air ow direction is right.
The air heater Termis complies with the safety require-
ments of the Machine Directive. The requirements pro-
vide that the impeller safety guard, which also serves as
the motor bracket, is undamaged. Every delivery includes
the Declaration of Conformity according to the Machine
Directive and the product is labelled with CE mark.
Maintenance
Make sure before proceeding with the work that the air
heater Termis cannot be started by the safety switch
during the service. Have the air heater serviced at the
beginning and at the end of the heating season (in au-
tumn and in spring).
The air heater can be cleaned by the plant’s own serv-
ice personnel but services and repairs of the impeller ,
motor and heat exchanger require special expertise.
Fan
The air heater Termis has a fan equipped with an
external-rotor motor. The motor and the impeller make
one component that cannot be dismantled. Clean the
impeller if needed with a brush or a vacuum cleaner, do
not use water. The impeller and the motor have to be
removed for the cleaning. If the fan gets damaged the
whole component has to be replaced or let a qualied
professional repair it.
Heat exchanger
Check that the pipe joints of the heat exchanger do not
leak and clean if needed the heat-exchange surfaces
gently with a brush, a vacuum-cleaner or water. Remove
the air deector grille from the heat exchanger for clean-
ing, pull the upper cover towards yourself and lift the
cover off.
Vent the heat exchanger together with the outlet water
pipeline at the beginning of the heating season.
NB! To prevent the heat exchanger from freezing,
water has to be kept warm enough, there must not
be air in the heat exchanger and the water circulation
has to be ensured by the circulation water pump or
by the sufcient pressure difference of the inlet and
outlet water. The heat exchanger can be equipped
with an surface-mounted anti-freezing thermostat.
The thermostat gives an alarm when the temperature
of water drops under the set value (e.g. 8°C). The anti-
freezing thermostat is not included in the delivery.
If the air heater is not in use during the beginning
heating season, water has to be drained off the heat
exchanger to prevent from freezing or the ambient tem-
perature has to be kept warm enough.
NB! Mind the sharp laminated face of the heat ex-
changer - risk of a gash!
NB! There is a rotating apparatus in the air heater. If
the air heater is installed within reach, do not push
foreign objects between the rotating parts.
Casing
Clean the casing both inside and outside. Check the
fastenings of the brackets of the air heater.
Check that the air flow direction is right and, if
needed, tighten the screws at the ends of the louvers
in the outlet opening.
Liability for faults and defects
The manufacturer guarantees the product for 12 months.
The warranty does not apply to wearing parts, the average life of which is shorter than the warranty period, except
when such part shows a fault or defect within the average life period.
The warranty is valid only if the product is used strictly according to the instructions and exclusively for the intended
purpose. The seller is, however, not liable for defects resulting from improper installation, non-observance of the in-
stallation instructions, normal wear, misuse, negligence in maintenance work for which the end user is responsible,
or the buyer’s neglect.
